Abstract

Learning outcomes are an indicator of the mastery of lecture material that students have achieved. Learning outcomes can be used as a benchmark for student success in lectures. This research aims to describe differences in learning outcomes in the Electrical Machines Course for Electrical Engineering students entering 2020. The type of research that the author conducted was descriptive comparative research. Data collection was carried out using documentation instruments obtained from the Technical Implementation Unit for Data and Technology Services, Padang State University in the form of learning outcomes for the Electrical Machines Course, entry selection routes, and educational background of Electrical Engineering Education students entering 2020. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in learning outcomes for the Electrical Machines course in terms of the SNMPTN, SBMPTN and Independent Selection entry groups. Where the highest average is students from the Independent Selection route and the lowest average is students from the SNMPTN route. Based on educational background, there are also no significant differences between SMK, SMA, and MA. Where the highest average score is for students with an MA education background and the lowest average is for students with a vocational school education background.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of learning outcomes of special teaching methods on electrical engineering students' readiness to carry out practical field education. This research method uses a quantitative approach, meaning all data or information is based on statistical analysis. The type of research used is associative research. The subjects of this research were students at Padang State University, the Electrical Engineering Education study program, totaling 43 students. The research instrument used a questionnaire and a trial was carried out before the questionnaire was distributed to students. The questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability after a trial. Research data will be measured using a 1-5 Likert scale. In this research, data analysis uses a simple linear regression test. The t-test was also carried out to test the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. The research results show that there is an influence of learning outcomes from certain teaching methods on the readiness of electrical engineering students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of K3 knowledge on K3 behavior of class XI TITL students of SMKN 3 OKU. This study was conducted on 34 students by giving posttest questions about K3 knowledge and using an assessment rubric filled in by the researcher. This study is a study that uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. Meanwhile, the type of research used is correlational research because it identifies how a variable affects another variable. Based on these results, it can be seen that a student's understanding of theory is very necessary. Theory is one of the most basic things that must be understood by students before carrying out practice. Theory as a starting point for practice is seen as knowledge about something. The importance of K3 knowledge for students is seen from various aspects. First, understanding K3 provides a strong foundation for students to recognize the risks they face. Second, routine training can make students ready to face work conditions. Third, applying K3 in learning creates a collective basis between students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement in students' learning outcomes and the percentage of mastery learning after implementing the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model in the Electrical Installation subject at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. This research employs a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research subjects are 30 students of class XI TITL 1 at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat for the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection was carried out through pretest and posttest questions that had been validated by experts in the field. Before the implementation of the learning model, students were given a pretest (initial test), while a posttest (final test) was administered after the learning process was completed. The research results indicate that the implementation of the Student Facilitator and Explaining model in the Electrical Installation subject can improve students' learning outcomes. This improvement is evident in the cognitive aspect, as shown by the analysis of pretest and posttest scores using the N-Gain Score formula, which yielded a value of 0.66, categorized as moderate. The percentage of mastery learning also experienced a significant increase, with 90% of students successfully achieving the Minimum Competency Criteria. Thus, the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model is effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes in the Electrical power Installation subject.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low academic performance of students in the Applied Mathematics course. Students admitted through the SNMPTN pathway show lower learning outcomes compared to those admitted through the SBMPTN and Mandiri pathways. These differences in academic performance are concerning, as they may reflect the influence of educational background and admission pathways on students' academic readiness. Therefore, this study aims to analyze differences in student learning outcomes in the Applied Mathematics course within the Electrical Engineering Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Padang, class of 2022, based on educational background (high school and vocational school) and university entrance pathways (SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and Mandiri). This research employs a quantitative approach with a comparative method. Data were collected through documentation of student grades and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that there is no significant difference in learning outcomes based on educational background and university entrance pathways. The results suggest that factors other than educational background and admission pathways may play a more dominant role in determining students' academic performance in the Applied Mathematics course.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Jobsheets in learning the practice of Electric Motor Installation (IML) at SMK N 1 Pariaman. The results of the observation show that the implementation of the Electric Motor Installation practice has not been effective a[1]s evidenced by the lack of group discussion initiatives and students' understanding of the stages of implementing the practice is still lacking. This study uses an experimental research type with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. The subjects in the study were 32 class XI TITL students at SMK N 1 Pariaman in the 2024 academic year. Pretest and Posttest data collection used a performance assessment rubric used by teachers at SMK N 1 Pariaman. The analysis techniques used in this study are classical completeness and effect size. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the use of Jobsheets is very effective in class XI TITL 1 SMK N 1 Pariaman. This can be seen from the calculation of Cohen's effect size analysis showing a large category and the calculation of skill completeness indicating very effective criteria. The application of Jobsheets has a significant impact on improving student learning outcomes because it can increase students' creativity, insight and enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of games-based learning assisted by Kahoot in improving student learning outcomes in basic electricity subjects at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. Conventional learning methods that tend to be monotonous and less interactive are one of the causes of low motivation and student learning outcomes. This study uses an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument is a learning outcome test consisting of a pretest and a posttest. The data analysis techniques used in this study are the N-Gain test, effect size, and completeness of learning outcomes. The results of the study show that the application of games-based learning assisted by Kahoot significantly improves student learning outcomes. The average score of the posttest students increased compared to the pretest, with the results of the N-Gain test showing a moderate improvement category and an effect size in the large category. Student learning completeness was also achieved with a percentage of 86%. Thus, Kahoot is effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes in this subject.

Abstract

This study aims to examine student learning outcomes following the implementation of the video-assisted Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method in Class XI TITL 1 at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman. The low level of student learning outcomes is attributed to limited engagement during the learning process. Therefore, this research investigates whether the video-assisted PjBL method can enhance student achievement. An experimental research design was employed, using a one-group pretest-posttest model. The participants were 32 students from Class XI TITL 1 at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman during the 2024/2025 academic year. To measure learning outcomes, a pretest was administered before applying the video-assisted PjBL method, followed by a posttest after completing the learning process on the topic of Electric Motor Installation. The posttest results were analyzed using the N-Gain Score and criteria for learning mastery. The findings indicate that student scores significantly improved after the implementation of the video-assisted PjBL method. This suggests that the application of video-assisted PjBL effectively enhances student learning outcomes in the Electric Motor Installation subject at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning resources as a Module Based on Problem-Based Learning that is valid, practical, and effective on Basic Electrical and electronic subjects. The kind this research is Research and Development (R&D), and the development model is Ploomp, There are three steps: (1) preliminary research, (2) prototyping stage, and (3) assessment phase. The data analysis technique describes the validity, the practicality, and the effectiveness of the Learning Module Based on Problem-Based Learning for Basic Electrical Electronics. The learning module is designed using Adobe Flash CS3. The results who is obtained from this research are as follows: (1) The validity of the Learning Module Based on Problem-Based Learning is expressed as valid for the validation of the content, with total values are 0,93 dan 0,87, with category of valid and validation of performance with total value are 0,87 and 0,78. (2) The practicality Learning Module Based on Problem-Based Learning based on teacher response is expressed practical with a value 85 and the based-on students responses are expressed very practical with a value 84,71, (3) The effectiveness of Learning Module Based on Problem-Based Learning is expressed effective for improving the result of students learning because with 78,6% of students have reached KKM. Based on the results of this research, the Learning Module Based on Problem-Based Learning for Basic Electrical Electronics is valid, practical, and effective to be used as a resource for learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of students after the implementation of the game-based learning method assisted by the Quizizz application in the Basic Electricity Engineering subject at SMK Negeri 1 Rejang Lebong. In an effort to improve student learning outcomes, interesting and interactive learning media are needed. This study used an experimental approach with a pre-experimental method, as well as a one group pretest-posttest design. The research instruments used were pretest and posttest questions in objective form to assess student learning outcomes. Before use, the instrument was tested with validity test, reliability test, differentiator test, and question difficulty index to ensure the feasibility of the tools used. The results indicated an increase in the learning outcomes of students who applied the game-based learning method assisted by the Quizizz application, when compared to conventional learning methods. Nevertheless, this study also has some limitations, such as the focus on only one school and one subject. Therefore, further research involving more schools and subjects is expected to provide a more comprehensive picture of the application of this method. In addition, the factors of student motivation and previous experience in the same subject also need to be considered in future research. This research provides a strong foundation for curriculum development and learning approaches to improve students' understanding of electricity fundamentals.
