Abstract

The community service partner was a holistic cupping clinic that provides preventive and complementary health services based on Thibbunnabawi but still faced limitations in service administration and documentation. The partner's main problems included non-digital patient records, manual cupping schedules, inconsistent therapy records, non-integrated initial screening, verbally delivered preventive education, and service reports that were difficult to summarize for internal evaluation. This activity aimed to optimize the quality of preventive health services through the utilization of a Holistic Cupping Clinic Information System designed according to the work needs of clinic managers, administrators, therapists, and assistants. The implementation method consisted of needs observation, partner interviews, system design, application implementation, user training, practical mentoring, and activity evaluation. Ten participants were involved, with an average initial digital literacy score of 54.1. The results showed improvement in all service indicators: patient data input increased from 42 to 88, cupping scheduling from 40 to 86, therapy records from 45 to 84, initial screening from 50 to 87, preventive education from 56 to 90, and service reporting from 38 to 82. Participant satisfaction was also high, including system usability at 92 percent, perceived service benefits at 95 percent, training clarity at 93 percent, feature suitability at 90 percent, and intention for continued use at 88 percent. The contribution of this activity lies in providing a simple, contextual, and applicable information system utilization model to strengthen administration, service safety, therapy documentation, and preventive education in holistic cupping clinics. This contribution gives the partner a clearer digital workflow to support service continuity.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the low level of Islamic character, learning discipline, and creativity among elementary school students, as reflected in their lack of learning concentration, frequent joking during classroom activities, and unsatisfactory academic achievement. These conditions indicate the need for more innovative, participatory, and enjoyable learning strategies to improve students' engagement in the learning process. This program aimed to optimize students' Islamic character, discipline, and creativity through basic drawing training as an interactive learning medium. The program was conducted at SD Islam Ruhul Amin from April 16 to May 22, 2026, involving 20 students from grades one to six. The implementation method consisted of needs assessment, coordination with the school, program planning, basic drawing training, delivery of Islamic character education through audiovisual media, drawing practice, mentoring, and evaluation using observation, interviews, simple questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that students demonstrated high attendance and enthusiasm throughout the program. Most participants were able to follow drawing instructions, produce basic shapes correctly, and showed greater confidence in asking questions and presenting their work. The program also increased student participation through practical and collaborative learning activities. However, improvements in Islamic character and learning discipline were not yet optimal because several students still tended to joke with their classmates and had difficulty maintaining consistent learning focus. The results of school examination mentoring also indicated that students' academic achievement remained below the expected standard and therefore required continuous guidance. In addition, the planned renovation of the school building limited the implementation of several follow-up activities. Overall, the basic drawing training positively contributed to improving students' creativity, participation, and self-confidence. Nevertheless, strengthening Islamic character and discipline requires continuous habituation through collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and higher education institutions to achieve sustainable outcomes.

Abstract

The digital transformation of education requires teachers to possess digital literacy competencies, the ability to utilize Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI), and an understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection regarding instructional innovations. However, a needs analysis conducted among teachers within the West Java Provincial Education Office Branch (Region X) revealed that the use of Generative AI in the learning process remains limited, understanding of IPR is inadequate, and efforts to commercialize or scale up (downstream) instructional innovations have not been optimally implemented. These conditions potentially hinder the creation of value-added and sustainable instructional innovations. This community service activity aims to optimize teachers' competencies in utilizing Generative AI to produce instructional innovations that are protected by IPR and possess potential for downstream application. The proposed solution was implemented in four stages: participant needs analysis; a workshop on digital literacy and Generative AI utilization; mentoring on IPR documentation and innovation downstreaming strategies; and evaluation using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The results indicate that participants were able to implement Generative AI to develop teaching materials, digital learning media, assessment instruments, and school administrative tools more effectively and innovatively. Evaluation of the activity showed that all indicators fell into the "highly proficient" category, with understanding levels ranging from 89.6% to 95.2%. The highest achievement was recorded in the indicator for readiness to implement training outcomes in schools (95.2%), followed by Generative AI utilization (94.8%) and increased digital literacy (93.2%). Furthermore, participants demonstrated an improved understanding of the importance of IPR protection and the opportunities for downstreaming instructional innovations as part of strengthening the technology-based education ecosystem. Thus, a workshop approach combined with mentoring proved effective in enhancing teacher competence while fostering the creation of instructional innovations that are adaptive, legally protected, and capable of delivering a broader impact on educational development.

Abstract

This Independent Community Service Program (PMKM) was conducted with Prahayuni MSME, a culinary business located in Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Although the enterprise has considerable business potential, it faced several challenges that limited its competitiveness and business sustainability. The main problems included limited understanding of halal certification procedures and requirements, incomplete Halal Product Assurance System (HPAS) documentation, inadequate implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in business operations, and a simple financial recording system that had not adopted modern accounting practices. This community service program aimed to strengthen the partner’s capacity to obtain halal certification through assistance in preparing HPAS documentation, implementing ESG principles, and improving financial management based on modern accounting to support sustainable business development. The program adopted a participatory empowerment approach consisting of needs assessment, socialization, technical training, assistance in preparing halal certification documents, guidance in using the SIHALAL application system, implementation of ESG-based business practices, training in simple financial reporting, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated significant improvements in the partner’s knowledge and skills regarding halal certification requirements, the successful completion of HPAS documentation, improved financial recording practices that are more systematic and accountable, the initial implementation of ESG principles in business management, and the successful acquisition of a Halal Certificate for Prahayuni MSME products. These achievements contributed to strengthening business governance, increasing consumer confidence, expanding market opportunities, and providing an integrated community empowerment model that combines halal certification, ESG implementation, and modern accounting practices to enhance the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of MSMEs.

Abstract

The community service partners in this program were small-scale free-range native chicken farmers in Sigara-gara Village, Langkat Regency, Indonesia, who managed their businesses independently using simple and unstructured financial record-keeping systems. The main challenges encountered by the partners included the absence of a clear separation between business and household finances, inconsistent transaction recording, and the lack of business planning to support informed decision-making. These conditions made it difficult for the farmers to accurately identify production costs, profit levels, cash flow, and future business development needs, resulting in less effective business management. Therefore, this community service program aimed to enhance the partners' capacity in preparing simple financial records and developing business plans to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of their native chicken farming enterprises. The program contributed practical mentoring, user-friendly bookkeeping templates, and simple business planning guidelines tailored to the farmers' operational conditions. The implementation employed a participatory approach consisting of observation, needs assessment, socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The training focused on recording cash receipts and expenditures, classifying production costs, preparing simple income statements, and developing short-term business plans based on financial information. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in the partners' managerial competencies. Before the program, only 30% of participants regularly recorded business transactions; after the program, this figure increased to 85%. The proportion of participants capable of preparing simple financial statements increased from 25% to 82%, while the ability to develop business plans improved from 20% to 78%. In addition, 90% of the participants expressed positive feedback regarding the mentoring activities, stating that the training materials were easy to understand and could be directly applied to their daily farming operations. Overall, this community service program successfully strengthened the managerial capacity of the partner farmers, promoted more effective financial management practices, and served as an initial step toward improving the long-term sustainability of native chicken farming businesses.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum requires teachers to possess the competence to develop innovative teaching materials and instructional media while effectively integrating digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), into the learning process. However, a needs analysis conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar revealed that most teachers had limited knowledge and skills in utilizing AI to develop instructional materials and learning media. This Community Service Program aimed to strengthen teachers' competencies through training on the development of AI-based teaching materials and instructional media to support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of needs analysis, theoretical sessions, AI application demonstrations, hands-on workshops, mentoring, product presentations, and evaluation. The training involved 35 teachers from various subject areas at SMP Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar. The results demonstrated that all participants successfully developed instructional products, including teaching modules, handouts, student worksheets, interactive presentation media, and AI-assisted digital learning media. The developed products achieved an average quality score of 91.60, categorized as Excellent, while teachers' competency scores increased from an average pre-test score of 69.50 to a post-test score of 90.50, representing an improvement of 21.00 points. Participants' responses to the training were also highly positive, with an average satisfaction score of 4.85 (97.0%), indicating excellent acceptance of the program. These findings suggest that AI-based training integrating theoretical instruction, practical workshops, and intensive mentoring effectively enhances teachers' competencies in developing teaching materials and instructional media. The novelty of this program lies in its product-oriented training model, which integrates generative AI into the development of teaching materials and instructional media, enabling teachers to produce classroom-ready learning resources that support the effective implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The Village Government of Mekarwangi (Cisauk District, Tangerang Regency), acting as the community service partner, faces challenges in managing a peri-urban area undergoing rapid urbanization. Observations by the service team identified several issues: low levels of household waste utilization and environmental conservation; limited visual identity and competitiveness among MSMEs; suboptimal road safety facilities; and the persistence of bullying in local elementary schools. These conditions highlight the need for an integrated community empowerment initiative to enhance the environmental quality, social capacity, and economic potential of the Mekarwangi community. This service activity aims to optimize community capacity through a participatory, educational, collaborative, and empowerment-oriented approach, actively involving the village government, schools, MSMEs, and local residents. The initiative’s primary contribution is an integrated empowerment model that combines environmental, social, economic, and infrastructure aspects into programs tailored to the characteristics of a peri-urban village. Implementation involved community education and mentoring, the construction of supporting facilities, and skills training customized to the community's specific needs. Results indicate that all program targets were successfully achieved, including the construction of 10 biopore infiltration holes, the installation of signage systems at three strategic locations, anti-bullying awareness sessions for elementary students, and training on used cooking oil utilization that resulted in the production of 10 aromatherapy candles. Beyond physical outputs, the activity increased community knowledge and awareness regarding environmental conservation, waste management, public facility safety, and the importance of fostering a safe, bullying-free learning environment. Active community participation and village government support demonstrate that the implemented empowerment model strengthens stakeholder collaboration and serves as a foundation for sustainable programs aimed at improving the quality of life for the residents of Mekarwangi as a peri-urban village.
