Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) often face challenges in transforming innovative ideas into structured business strategies, leading to low competitiveness and business resilience. This community service activity is designed with the primary objective of optimizing the capacity of local entrepreneurs in developing comprehensive business plans as a practical and applicable framework for active entrepreneurship. The strategic solution implemented is an intensive training program focused on four fundamental pillars, in-depth market analysis, innovative product development, effective digital marketing strategies, and realistic and measurable financial projections. This training carefully uses a blended learning method, dynamically combining interactive lecture sessions and real case discussions for 90 minutes with intensive and personal mentoring for 60 minutes, utilizing business plan templates that have been specifically tailored to the characteristics and scale of micro-enterprises. The activity, enthusiastically attended by 60 MSME actors, showed high participation, particularly in the hands-on digital marketing strategy sessions, while objective evaluation results using nine key indicators convincingly demonstrated a holistic and significant increase in participant capacity, especially in critical aspects such as product innovation, business resilience, and network collaboration. Quantitatively, 87% of participants successfully demonstrated a consistent improvement in ability, categorized as good to excellent across all measured aspects a finding that strongly validates the effectiveness of the implemented training methodology in tangibly enhancing the readiness and ability of MSMEs to formulate and execute concrete and sustainable business action plans amidst market dynamics.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a crucial strategy for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in rural areas. Bengkel Las Siti Hajar, a micro-enterprise located in Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency, faces several challenges in business management, including conventional promotion methods, limited digital branding, and manual bookkeeping practices that reduce efficiency and accuracy. This Community Partnership Service Program (PKM) aims to strengthen the partner’s capacity to utilize simple digital technologies to support business promotion, financial record-keeping, and daily operations. The implementation methods included initial observations and interviews to identify the partner’s needs, training on the utilization of Google Business as a location-based promotional platform, assistance in creating promotional content through Instagram, and training on digital bookkeeping using Microsoft Excel-based applications. The results of the PKM implementation indicate a significant improvement in business performance, with an increase in monthly revenue of approximately 30%, a growth in regular customers from 8–10 to 15–20 individuals, and the development of a digital business portfolio that supports sustainable promotion. Furthermore, the partner demonstrated improved knowledge and skills in managing the business more professionally and systematically. Therefore, this community service activity confirms that the application of simple digital technologies can generate substantial positive impacts on the development, professionalism, and competitiveness of rural micro-enterprises.

Abstract

Marindal II Village has considerable potential in the freshwater aquaculture sector; however, it still faces various challenges related to feeding efficiency, high operational costs, and limited adoption of technology. Manual feeding practices often lead to feed waste, irregular feeding schedules, and water pollution in fish ponds. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the efficiency and productivity of fish farming through the development and implementation of an automatic fish feeding machine as an initial step toward an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system. The PKM activities were carried out in Marindal II Village in collaboration with the Karang Taruna Youth Group and the PKK community group as partners. The implemented automatic fish feeder is capable of regulating feeding time and dosage in a scheduled manner without manual intervention, thereby reducing feed waste and improving labor efficiency. Although the system has not yet been directly integrated with IoT technology, the design approach and training activities were oriented toward preparing partners for future IoT-based development, such as remote monitoring and sensor integration. Evaluation results indicate improvements in partners’ understanding and skills in managing fish farming activities, feeding time efficiency, and feed waste reduction. This program serves as an important foundation for the sustainable development of IoT-based automatic fish feeding systems in Marindal II Village.

Abstract

Pregnant women in the Kevikepan Ende region face various challenges, including limited access to health facilities, long geographical distances, and a lack of psychological and spiritual support during pregnancy. These conditions may increase anxiety and emotional vulnerability, particularly within church-based community settings. In response to this situation, a community service program was implemented through the Basic Ecclesial Community (KUB) Care for Pregnant Women Movement as a form of community-based psycho-spiritual accompaniment. This community service activity aims to provide holistic accompaniment for pregnant women through the active involvement of Basic Ecclesial Communities and parish pastoral services. The accompaniment was carried out through pastoral visits, communal prayers, blessings, solidarity-based support, and the facilitation of routine health check-ups in collaboration with local medical personnel. The implementation methods included direct community accompaniment, participatory observation, and interviews with pregnant women, KUB coordinators, and parish priests as part of activity reflection and evaluation. The results indicate that the KUB Care for Pregnant Women Movement successfully created a safe and inclusive space for pregnant women, reduced anxiety levels, and enhanced psycho-spiritual well-being as well as a sense of meaning and belonging within the community. However, the implementation has not been evenly distributed across all KUB units, highlighting the need for strengthened organizational structures, sustained pastoral accompaniment, and increased capacity-building for KUB members. This community service activity affirms that community-based psycho-spiritual accompaniment represents a contextual, participatory, and relevant pastoral service model for supporting vulnerable groups, particularly pregnant women, and should be integrated into diocesan pastoral policies to ensure program sustainability and broader impact.

Abstract

Environmental and sanitation issues remain critical challenges in rural areas, requiring comprehensive and integrated solutions. This community service program aims to optimize understanding and awareness of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) as well as environmental management from an early age, targeting Early Childhood Education (PAUD) students, 5th and 6th grade elementary school (SD) students, and the general public. The program is implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through three main intervention stages: first, hygiene education for PAUD students through motor skill stimulation such as exercise, direct practice of handwashing with soap (CTPS), and coloring activities; second, integrated socialization at the elementary school level involving simulations of organic and inorganic waste sorting, anti-bullying campaigns, and the importance of general health in schools; and third, the design and installation of visual media in the form of educational signboards displaying the decomposition time of household waste in strategic village locations. The results show a significant impact, with 90% of PAUD students demonstrating improved motor skills and independent sanitation understanding, and more than 85% of elementary students able to accurately practice waste sorting. At the community level, the installation of educational signboards has created a cognitive shock effect, increasing public awareness of the dangers of plastic waste accumulation. In conclusion, the synergy between preventive education in schools and visual campaigns in public spaces is highly effective in promoting sustainable sanitation behavior within the village ecosystem.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the financial management capabilities and financial literacy of residents in Bagan Deli Village, Medan Belawan District, as a strategic effort to strengthen the resilience of the local economy. The background of this program is rooted in the persistent challenges faced by the community, particularly the limited understanding of structured financial record-keeping, weak separation between personal and business finances, and low levels of financial literacy across multiple demographic groups. These conditions potentially hinder the growth of micro and small enterprises that form the backbone of the village economy. The primary targets of this activity include seafood collectors and micro-business actors who play a crucial role in local economic circulation but often lack access to practical financial education. The implementation of the program adopts a participatory and hands-on approach consisting of preliminary field observations, financial education sessions, and intensive mentoring. The educational component includes financial literacy socialization, practical training in simple bookkeeping systems, and guidance on utilizing digital platforms to support MSME promotion and market expansion. Throughout the mentoring phase, participants are encouraged to apply newly acquired knowledge directly to their daily financial practices, ensuring experiential learning and long-term retention. The results of the activity demonstrate a measurable improvement in participants’ awareness of systematic financial management, the importance of transparent record-keeping, and the productive use of digital technology in business operations. Overall, this community service initiative is expected to generate a sustainable impact by fostering disciplined financial behavior, strengthening entrepreneurial capacity, and contributing to the long-term economic welfare of the Bagan Deli community.

Abstract

The Suryakencana area in Bogor City is a multicultural culinary destination that offers a diversity of food businesses within a single urban space; however, information regarding the characteristics and distribution of these businesses is still not systematically managed, limiting visitors’ access to information. This community service activity aims to optimize spatial mapping and visual signage in supporting the development of culinary tourism along the Suryakencana Corridor. The partners involved are 50 culinary business owners who are members of the Suryakencana Traders Association. The implementation method uses a mixed approach, including Geographic Information System (GIS)-based spatial mapping, hotspot analysis to identify clusters of business activity, participatory stakeholder engagement, and the application of color-coded visual signage to facilitate the identification of business characteristics. Data were collected through field observations, documentation, and Pre-test and Post-test questionnaires using a Likert scale. The results show that culinary businesses are concentrated in high-activity points that serve as strategic locations for intervention. After implementation, the average perception score increased from 3.03 to 4.31, indicating improved understanding, better business practices, and increased awareness of the importance of information transparency for visitors. The intervention also encouraged a shift toward more proactive communication through the availability of visual information in the field. This activity demonstrates that the integration of spatial mapping and simple visual signage can enhance information delivery effectiveness and make it easier for visitors to determine culinary choices according to their preferences.
