Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the pair check learning model on the mathematical connection ability of class X MAN 1 Banyumas students. This study falls under the category of quasi-experimental design research. Four hundred seventy-six students in class X MAN 1 at Banyumas served as the study's population. The sampling method employs a straightforward random sampling technique, in which samples are drawn randomly from the population without regard to their position. The two most notable classes from this research are X-2, which has 38 students and serves as an experimental school, and X-4, which has 38 students and serves as a control school. Instruments in the form of test questions were used to gauge participants' proficiency with mathematical connections. The data analysis technique using the N-Gain test showed a difference in the average N-Gain in the experimental class, which was 0.4727 more than the control class N-Gain value of 0.2354. Accordingly, it can be inferred that class X MAN 1 Banyumas' ability to make mathematical connections is impacted by the application of the pair check learning model.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the renewal models of the lecture model learning process. For this reason, researchers developed learning media for Inverse Matrix material based on Microsoft power point as a renewal of learning methods. The purpose of developing learning media using power point is so that it can be used without having to install an application specifically, made with a capacity that is not large, but complete, clearly to increase student understanding and achievement. This learning media has been tested for feasibility by experts in the fields of mathematics and multimedia. The test results by experts in the field of mathematics concluded that the material met the syllabi standard in inverse matrix material, while the test results by multimedia experts showed that the appearance was attractive, simple, clear navigation and feasible to implement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different stages of geometric thinking in terms of understanding the concept of geometry and formative evaluation. The sampling technique used in this study was simple random sampling, so that a sample of 90 students. The research instrument is a test of the ability to understand geometric concepts, a geometric thinking level test and formative evaluation. The panelist test was carried out using the Aiken and Hoyt formula to determine the validity and consistency of the instrument, while the test was to determine the difficulty index, discriminating power, validity and reliability of the instrument. The data analysis technique used discriminant analysis. The results showed that (1) understanding of geometric concepts significantly affected the differences in students' geometric thinking level achievement, (2) formative evaluation significantly influenced students' geometric thinking level achievement differences, (3) discriminant function equation D = -11.743 + 0.0034X1 + 0.125 X2 to predict the achievement of geometric thinking level, (4) The percentage accuracy of the discriminant function equation in predicting the difference in the achievement of students' thinking level is 98.9%.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are important to master at this time. Mathematical literacy can help solve real world problems more easily and can compare the various kinds of benefits we will get. Of course mastery is not easy to master just like that without being studied in the world of education. One way is by preparing qualified human resources. Related to this, it is necessary to prepare prospective teachers who have good mathematical literacy as well. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach that aims to describe the mathematical literacy of elementary school teacher candidates in which the results of this study are expected to be able to provide input for the development of teaching materials. Data collection was carried out using test and interview methods. The research results obtained were that subjects with high mathematical literacy were able to fulfill all indicators well, while subjects with medium and low abilities were able to fulfill all indicators but there were still errors in the application of concepts and calculations.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical communication skills of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Jatiroto in statistical material. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII E SMP Negeri 2 Jatiroto. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.  The results of this study, the subjects selected were 6 students with 2 subjects of high achievement, 2 subjects of moderate achievement, and 2 subjects of low achievement. With high achievement subjects meeting the 5 indicators of mathematical communication ability given, medium achievement subjects meeting 2 indicators of given mathematical communication skills, and low achievement subjects fulfilling 1 indicator of given mathematical communication skills. The conclusions of the study indicate that the mathematical communication skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Jatiroto in statistical material are as follows: (1) students with high achievement have good mathematical communication skills, (2) students with moderate achievement have quite good mathematical communication skills, (3) students with low achievement have poor mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out whether there is an influence of basic integral learning video media on learning outcomes for Class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 1 Polokarto, Sukoharjo Regency, in the 2022/2023 academic year. This study uses a type of experimental research with a quantitative approach. With a population of all class XI MIPA students at SMA N 1 Polokarto for the 2022/2023 academic year, Sukoharjo Regency, there are 142 students and 4 classes. In this study using purposive sampling technique. This consideration was taken based on the number of students between the two classes being the same and the standard deviation values being relatively the same. The two classes that became the experimental and control classes were XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2 with basic integral discussion material. Learning outcomes can be seen in the hypothesis test, it is known that the value of the independent sample t-test, with H0 is accepted if tcount ? ttable and H0 is rejected if tcount < ttable by determining dk = n1 + n2 - 2 with a significant level of ? = 5%. It can be seen that tcount = -5.151 and ttable = 1.994. Then the calculation results can be seen that tcount < ttable, namely -5.151 <1.994 means that H0 is rejected., and the results of observations of student activity during activities on basic integral material the average value of the percentage of observations in the experimental and control classes , showing the results of student activity in the experimental class was higher than the control class. This can be seen from the percentage of the average value of the two observers who were carried out in the experimental class by 95% while in the control class by 83.3%. Based on the results of research data analysis, seen from the results of learning to test the hypothesis and the percentage of the average value of observations, it can be concluded that there is an influence of learning video media in helping to understand Basic Integral material on student learning outcomes in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Polokarto, Sukoharjo Regency, Academic Year 2022/2023 .

Abstract

This study aims to apply karpone media to improve the learning outcomes of grade VII students at SMP Negeri I Puding Besar on the addition and subtraction of integers. This study was conducted in September 2019 at SMP Negeri I Puding Besar. This research was conducted through four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The tools used were teacher and student observation sheets, testing instruments, and field notes. Research results show that the average score on the final reading comprehension test of students in Semester 1 was 28.61 and then increased to 91.94 at the end of Semester 2. At the same time, the teacher activity rate also increased, notably in cycle I to 82.83% and in cycle II to 96.97%. Student activity also increased from 47.33% to 97.5%. Therefore, it can be concluded that applying karpone media can improve the learning outcomes of SMP Negeri I Puding Besar Grade VII B students on addition and subtraction of integers.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to characterize the mathematical literacy of eighth-grade State MTs in East Kalimantan students as they solved PISA model questions with social arithmetic content. Because the research describes the actual conditions of the research subjects, it falls under the category of qualitative research. One high category student, one medium category student, and one low category student from MTs Negeri East Kalimantan's class VIII made up the research subjects. An initial ability test, a PISA model test on social math topics, and interviews with study respondents were used as the research data gathering techniques. The study's findings demonstrate that pupils with strong category abilities are able to decipher issues and use social math concepts to solve issues in everyday life. Due to calculation errors, students with medium category abilities can solve issues effectively but with poor accuracy. Because they are less likely to have strong reading abilities, students in the low ability category cannot draw suitable conclusions from the presented questions.

Abstract

In Mathematics there are many branches of mathematics, one of which is Calculus. Calculus is often considered a difficult branch of mathematics. However, even so, Calculus is very useful in everyday life, even though we rarely realize this. Calculus greatly contributed to the development of mathematics. Not only mathematics, Calculus also contributes to the field of Physics. Looking at it from a historical perspective, Calculus has a controversial history because there are disputes between its inventors, namely Newton and Leibniz. Apart from the disputing figures, many other figures took part in this branch of Calculus. This calculus originated from the idea of calculating area by the Greek scientist Archimedes, although at that time Archimedes had not given the name calculus but he was the first to introduce the concept of calculus. From century to century, year after year the science of calculus always changes, because figures discover something new. Currently, although there are no new discoveries, the use of Calculus continues to grow from being only studied in universities to high schools. Apart from this, the use of calculus used to be simple, but now it has become more complex.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of increasing students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the use of the Android-based V-BAR (Volume Build Space) application and the PBL model in mathematics learning. The research method used is a quantitative experiment with a One one-group pretest-posttest design. The population & sample in this study were 22 class V students of SD N Sidomulyo 3. The data collected is data on problem solving abilities collected using test techniques in the form of essay questions. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain Score test statistic. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical problem solving abilities by 40.1% which was seen in the posttest average score of 74.6, which was better than the previous pretest average score of 34.5. Apart from that, the N-Gain Score test results showed an increase with results of 61.22% in the medium category. From the research results, it can be concluded that the use of the Android-based V-BAR application and the PBL model is effective in improving the mathematical problem solving abilities of fifth-grade students at SD N Sidomulyo 3 in the medium category.
