Abstract

Revision of reconunendation on fertilizing technology which always develops is absolutely required, because it is the key in the effortof creating self-supporting of food, especially for rice. One of technologies which can be used as a basic of analysis on recommendationof ricefield fertilizing is through status analysis of the chemical element P and K for ricefield area. So far recommendation on the fertilizing ofricefield P and K still use general recommendation, namely I 00-150 kg SP-36/hectarand 10 kg KCl/hectar, because it has not been based on the status of soil chemical element. The researchstatus of the chemical element P and K, by Puslitbangtanak of Bogor in Central Java Province, at scale I :50.000, has been started in Brebes Regency.Tegal, and then in 200 I it is continued by BPTP of Central Java in Kedung, Tuban Subdistrict, Blom Regency and Masaran Subdistrict and Plupuh ofSragen Regency. Analysis program on the chemical element statusof the ricefield P and Kin 2002 is located i.n KesugihanSubdistrict ofCilacap Regency. The materialsrequired are as follows: Administration Map, scale J :250.000 and I :500.000, Map of Earth I topography scale 1 :250.000, map ofland scale I :250.000 and I :50.000, map ofland usage scale I: 50.000, land drill, surface knife, plastic bucket, plastic cartoon papers, wool string, plastic sack, rafia fibre, permanentmarker and water gerigen, Methodology use comprises: preparation, operation of soil sample taking and analysis ofsoil. In the level of field operational, it comprises consultation withAgriculture Deparunent/BIPP/BPP/KCD. Main Surveyperforms thesarnple talking of'individual soil which is become as sample ofcompbosit sample, l sample of chomposit sample consist of l 0-. 15 sampleof individual soil. The next level is sample of chomposit, which is dried and smoothened and then the contentof potencial P and K is analized by extract ofHCL 25%,the data from the resultofsoil analysis of the contentP and K through 3 status (low criteria, middle and high). Commonly, the result of the status mapping on the riccfield P and K is as follows: there are 168 samples of soil of the chemical element status P; low up to.high of'KesugihanSubdistrict, the low status is 10- 16 mg P :0/100 mg or46J, 156 nectar wide, the middle status is 23 -39 mg P20/100 mgor2079,764 hectars wide; and the high status is 42-86 mg/ JOO g with 1523,017 hectars wide, but the statusoflow chemical elementK is 7 · JO mg K20/ 100 g with 804,926hectarwide the middle status is 11 . i 7 mg/100 g K10 or2228,524 hectars wide and the status of high K is 21-46 mg/100 g K10 with 612,741 hectars wide by doing fertilizing suitable with the result of soil analysis, so the cost can be economized for Rp.523.094.375 per season for the buying of the fertilizerSP-36 and minus Rp. 25.969.230 per planting season for the buying of the fertilizer.KCL, but the using is recoveredof cost over with SP- 36 fertilizer

Abstract

The research was conducted on the outskirts of Semarang. The area was chosen because it has been undergoing a rapid development as marked by urban sprawl towards the outside. The complex physiographical condition of the city of Semarang has caused an uneven sprawl. 111e main areas of investigation were the patterns, processes, intensity, tendencies and other factors that contributed to the sprawl. The research methods used were: I. Map analysis by comparation of the maps of 1980 and 2000 in oreder to discover the patterns, processes an tendencies of the city's urban sprawl; 2. Library research by comparing land uses in 1980 and 2000 in order to discover the intensity of the sprawl; 3. field survey using questionnaires completed by household heads living in sprawling area. Samples were taken in stages: fisrt from cluster area to represent the eastern, south tern and western part of the outkirts; then a poprposive sample of I 00 household heads and 11 developers. The result ofthe research indicates Three kinds of processes were noted in the sprawl: concentric, ribbon, and leapfrog. The sprawling process in the eastern outkirts with a plain topography has concentric and ribbon patterns. The southerns outkirts with a wavy to rough topography has concentric, ribbon and leapfrog patterns. A concentric pattern is also found in a rough topography (Tembalang). This is caused by the the residents preference to live in the immediate vicinity of'an activity centre (such as a university campus). This phenomenon proves that urban sprawl correlates positively to the availability of existing invesment. The western outkirts has ribbon at long road Pantura and leapfrog patterns. The intensity of the urban sprawl in term of the change in the size of the settlement area is 231,9 ha/year. The largest land conversion covers ricefields (2,239.5 ha), marshland (435.46 ha), and dry fields (339.14 ha) during the years 1983-2000. The following determinant factors list in order ofsignificant influence: 1. Population growth, 2. The area's physical condition, 3. Socio-economic condition, 4. Availability ofpubilc utilities, 5 Accessibilty, 6. The government policy.

Abstract

Amaranthus hybriduspaniculatus L (bayam raja) flour seems have a potential effect for β caroten and iron fortification on dried noodle. Because, β caroten and iron content on bayam raj a flour is about 36294, 7 µgl I 00 g and 28,5 ppm respectively. The dried noodle made from bayam raja there flour substitution is inrich with Bcaroten and iron. The increase, of flour substitution flour on the noodle, β caroten and iron inrichment. There is also existence of high protein and fiber. How ever the excessive use of substitution will decrease the dried noodle tensil strength. Substitution recomemended for inrich the dried noodle with bayam raja flour β caroten and iron, optimal used for substitution flour around 2-4 %.

Abstract

In the Central Java people's perception, the river is blackside and outcast area. Some disasters on the riverbank have expressed the velopment inconsidersation of the water potention. research is to find out the concept of the waterfront application on the riverbank development. Using correlation between the human behaviour and the the environment (Rapoport, 1977), the research is aimed to get support theories and the classifications aspects of waterfront. This research has 5 cases. Three (3) cases explain about Semarang as the coastal city, and two (2) cases explain about Semarang as the historical city that has river water transportauon. The research found that the waterfront in Semarang has 3 clasifications, First, by the fishermen in the fishermen settlement, the clasification of waterfront was not only the building on the river but also as the people activity related to the river. Second, by the non fisherman live in the riverbank settlement, the classification of waterfront was only related to the view of the river not its activity. Those people have used only the riverbank space. Third, by the inhabitans of the city in the kampung kola, the classification was not related to waterfront orientation. The riveronly seen as edges the district an administrative border. Finnaly, the public's argument that if the river is cleaner, the application of the waterfront concept can be fuller than before. The research recommend that it was very important to threat the river carefully, since it can give benefit for some aspec in the future.

Abstract

The effort ofdiversifying energy inthe form of classifying clean energy and its cheap, it represented by government expedient to find out ofoil and firewood for being used by smell industry and home industry. Coal is being represented 10 be an alternative energy. To reduce the environment effect delete coal burning, it is need to be mixed with biomass to make it be a bio briquette. One ofthe briquetting technique is by mixing coal and sawdust then its briquette mixture. The advantage of biocoal briquette is having combustibility much better than coal or its biomass. Mixture composition that we used are : 80% of coal: 15% of sawdust and 5% lime. The briquette form is hexagon and have a hole in its middle. The mean of this research is to exploiting biocoal to be a cheap fuel and efficient energy and used for small and hime industry,

Abstract

The study proces of Organic Chemistry I lecture isn't oriented yet for the life skill. The lecturer doesn't give the opportunity for the students to do scholarly job. So, 50 % students' ability get value under 70, it means that almost a half ofall students have gotten enough capability, even lower. Therefore, it needs applying study with "Chemo-Entrepreneurship" approach to increase the students' ability. Subject of research is the students ofChemistry Education program who's going through the Organic Chemistry I semester 2 of2005/2006. This research uses an action of each rotation consisted of the planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The result of the research shows that the mean of enlargement value, Good Team at the first rotation, but the students' ability "ere still IO,::!% who got value upper 80. On the second rotation, the mean of enlargement value. Super Great Team, where the students were getting value upper 80 reaching 84, I%. It have fulfilled the expected goals.

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to describe the functional region pattern of the border of Central Java and East Java. There are four subyectives: (a) to Identify the social economic potentialities of the districts a long the border area, (b) to Identify the nodal districts a long the border area, (c) to Identify tbe factors which may form the functional region a long the Central Java and East Java Border, and ( d) to Identify tbe barrier factors which affect the district to functioning. The unit analyses of this study are all districts a long the border area of Central Java and East Java in the regional development approach. This study found that not all districts have functional region. There are three kinds of region : (a) The functional region, (b) The potential functional region, and (c) The nonfunctional region. Functional regions are distinguished by the degree to which they are integrated, or the extent of the interaction of their component. The Factor that form the functional region is that the bordering provinces see some potential strengths of the region which can be activated economically, and must be supported with infrastructures (road, bridges, transportation). The factor that makes some regions not fungtionery, is the lack of infrastructures. In fact, there is a dependent. The factor which form the dependency is the domination of the stronger functional area

Abstract

The importance of farmer’s participation in climate anomaly anticipation and management its impacts are increasingly apparent. The scheme based on the assumption that all strategies need collective action. This study was conducted in order to identify the climate anomaly impacts management of farmer’s level. The study was conducted in eight districts, i.e., Temanggung, Magelang, Kebumen, Brebes, Kendal, Grobogan, Pati, and Sragen, on July – October 2005. The analysis was based on data of structured interview to 84 of farmers, and officers of local agricultural services. Results showed that all farmers stated that El Nino really affected their farming activities. Longer dry season decreased productions, delayed planting season, increased costs of water, planting materials, pesticides, as well as cost in land preparation. At farmers’ level, climate anomaly impacts was managed by planting schedules improvement, changing varieties or commodities, and looking for alternative sources of waters. Farmers determine the actions by considering collective decision and the guidance of agriculture extension workers. Time tolerance limit of farmers for the unpleasant climate was a month. However, most of farmers decided an action faster. As the climate anomaly is an external factor of farming system performance, so government should support the farmer’s collective actions. The supporting schemes include dissemination of the designed strategies to anticipate and manage the impacts climate anomaly, and the supporting facilities to apply the strategies.
