Abstract

This study explores how digital communication contributes to literacy development and school readiness through the lens of Deep Learning in early childhood education in Indonesia. Using Media Richness Theory as the theoretical lens, this study employed a qualitative phenomenological methodology to explore how digital communication through the use of a tablet-based learning application foster literacy development and school readiness through Deep Learning in early childhood education. Data were collected through classroom observations, in‑depth interviews and open‑ended questionnaires distributed to teachers, principals, and school operators of early childhood centers in Bekasi that had adopted a of tablet-based digital learning program. Thematic analysis showed that multimodal features and immediate feedback from the application enhanced children’s engagement and motivation, while infrastructural barriers such as limited devices and uneven teacher competence restricted implementation. Evidence of Deep Learning was observed in children’s persistence, creativity, collaboration, and intrinsic motivation, with some transferring digital concepts into everyday contexts. School readiness improved both cognitively, through literacy and numeracy gains, and socio‑emotionally, through patience, turn‑taking, and confidence. The findings highlight the importance of combining digital tools with conventional pedagogy, ensuring equitable access to devices, strengthening teacher professional development, and involving parents to reinforce home–school connections. Digital communication, when intentionally integrated, can serve as a pathway to Deep Learning and school readiness in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study examines the extent to which work motivation, compensation, and work climate influence employee performance at PT Steelindo Wahana Perkasa Bangka Belitung, a palm oil company located in East Belitung Regency. The research aims to analyze both the partial and simultaneous effects of these variables to provide deeper insights into the determinants of employee performance within plantation-based organizations. A quantitative research design was employed by distributing structured questionnaires to all sixty employees using a five-point Likert scale. Data quality was ensured through validity and reliability testing, followed by classical assumption tests to confirm the suitability of the dataset for regression analysis. Multiple linear regression was used to evaluate the relationships between independent variables and employee performance. The findings indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, demonstrating the importance of psychological and intrinsic drivers in enhancing productivity. In contrast, compensation and work climate do not show significant individual effects, suggesting that financial rewards and environmental conditions alone are insufficient to boost measurable performance outcomes. When analyzed simultaneously, the three variables collectively produce a significant effect, as reflected in a coefficient of determination of 0.134. This outcome highlights that employee performance emerges from the interaction of multiple internal factors rather than a single dominant determinant. The study offers practical implications for developing more effective human resource strategies and encourages future research to incorporate broader organizational variables for a more comprehensive model of performance.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to unravel ideology in Religion News Text about Atheists in Online News, namely Deutsche Welle (DW), The Times of India and ABS CBN Corporation by applying Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approaches. The method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data of this research are words, phrases and sentences to unravel ideological representation based on Roger Fowler and Ruth Wodak and Michael Meyer’s Critical Discourse Analysis frameworks in religion news text about atheists and nonbelievers. Data collection techniques conducted in this research are data reduction, data presentation, verification and concluding the research based on the frameworks. The findings of the study related to modality and vocabulary classification indicated that ideological representations occurred in news article about atheists and nonbelievers were used to discriminate the presence of atheists and nonbelievers or even a minority one. In addition, ideological representations related to the aspects of grammar eliminated the subjects or the doers in passive voice. As for nominalization, it had the potential to blur the subject by shifting focus from the action to simply presenting an event. Consequently, the ideological portrayal in the news might contribute to the marginalization of specific atheists and nonbelievers featured in the stories, concentrating the reader’s attention exclusively on the event, which could lead to the outcomes typically linked with nominalized sentences on three media online, namely Deutsche Welle, The Times of India and ABS-CBN Corporation. Furthermore, in Indonesia, atheists and nonbelievers are often perceived negatively as they are seen as an “other” group.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of greenhouse-based hydroponic activities in supporting household income and food security among members of the Women Farmer Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani/KWT) Wahid Sapa in Lebak Gede Village, Pulomerak District, Cilegon City. The study was conducted from September to November 2025, applying a quantitative descriptive approach with a census method involving 30 respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, direct observation, and supporting institutional documents. The research objectives include analyzing women’s labor allocation in hydroponic activities, measuring the income contribution generated from greenhouse cultivation, and identifying its influence on household food security. Data were analyzed using percentage analysis for labor allocation and income contribution, while food security was assessed using the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES). Findings reveal that women actively participated in greenhouse management by allocating a portion of their daily productive time despite fulfilling domestic duties. Hydroponic cultivation contributed economically to household income, although the level of contribution varied among members. Additionally, the activity strengthened household food security through increased access to fresh vegetables and reduced household expenditure on food consumption. These results highlight that greenhouse hydroponics functions not only as a source of supplemental income but also as a strategic empowerment program enhancing women’s economic participation, resource utilization in limited land areas, and resilience toward household food needs.

Abstract

The digital transformation of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia underscores the need to enhance employee performance through technological competence, employee well-being, and effective motivation systems. However, inconsistent findings regarding the effects of digital skills, work-life balance, and reward highlight the need for integrated empirical analysis, particularly in culinary MSMEs. This study examines the partial and simultaneous associations between these three variables and employee performance at MSME Pentol Rezky Samarinda. This research employed a quantitative positivist approach with a correlational design. A saturated sampling technique was applied to all 49 employees at Pentol Rezky. Data were collected via Likert-based questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Instrument validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests were conducted to ensure model accuracy and compliance with BLUE criteria. All measurement items were valid and reliable, and the regression model met normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity assumptions. The findings show that digital skills (p < 0.001), work-life balance (p = 0.015), and reward (p = 0.003) each significantly associated with employee performance. Simultaneously, the three predictors exert a strong effect (F = 28.128; p < 0.001), explaining 62.9% of the variance in performance (Adjusted R² = 0.629). The results indicate that employee performance in MSMEs is shaped by a combination of digital competence, balanced work-life conditions, and appropriate reward mechanisms. Strengthening these factors is essential for enabling small businesses to remain adaptive and competitive in the digital era.
