Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Round Robin Structure improves speaking skills. Round Robin Structure is one of the cooperative learning structures created by Spencer Kagan. In Round Robin Structure, students in the group respond to a question or problem orally. Team members are encouraged not to skip turns, but if they cannot answer the question, they say pass. Thus, there is almost universal participation in the Round Robin structure. There is a high degree of interaction among learners at all times. This study was CAR (Classroom Action Research) and ended in two cycles. The researcher applied the strategy directly in the class to measure student achievement and to know that the treatment could improve the students' speaking skills. The researcher used Kemmis and MC Taggart's models of CAR. The data was through tests, questionnaires, and interviews. In analyzing the data, the researcher used a direct test that measured five components of speaking pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. The researcher finds significant improvement in the average student's speaking skills, from 59.65 in the preliminary to 68.90 in cycle I and 72.90 in the next. The researcher also found that the student's responses fulfilled the success criteria. From highly the students' percentage in questionnaire form 1 is 73.91% to 78.26% in questionnaire form 2.

Abstract

The act of sectio caesarea can cause quite complex problems both physically, psychologically, socially, and also spiritually. The physical or physiological impact that often arises and is felt by post sectio caesarea patients is pain due to a tissue incision which results in the continuity of the tissue being cut off. Pain can be treated using pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. One of the non-pharmacological methods that can be used is the Benson relaxation technique . Research to determine the effect of the Benson relaxation technique on pain intensity in post-section caesarea mothers at H 2022 Hospital. This study was a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control group design . The sampling technique uses total sampling. The sample of this study was the first day post -sectio caesarea mothers at H. Bekasi Hospital who met the criteria totaling 38 people. Analysis using the Wilcoxon Rank Test and Mann-Whitney statistical tests. The Wilcoxon Rank Test obtained the result of Asmp.sig (2 tailed) worth 0.000 because the value of 0.000 is less than <0.05, so there is a difference between the results of post section caesarea pain intensity in the intervention group before being given the Benson relaxation technique and after being given the Benson relaxatio technique n. The Mann-Whitney test obtained a ρ value of 0.000 (ρ value ≤ 0.05), which means that there is an effect of the Benson relaxation technique on pain intensity in post-sectio caesarea mothers at H Hospital Bekasi in 2022. There is an effect of the Benson relaxation technique on pain intensity in post-cesarean section mother . It is hoped that the Benson relaxation technique can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce pain intensity in post-section caesarea mothers .

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation, usually marked by a feeling of cramps and centered in the abdomen, complaints of menstrual pain can vary from mild to severe. Green coconut water contains calcium and magnesium which can reduce muscle tension and Vitamin C which are natural anti-inflammatory substances that help relieve pain due to menstrual cramps by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzyme . This study aims to determine the effect of consuming green coconut water on the level of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents at Madrasah Aliyah Manaratul Islam, South Jakarta in 2022. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design . Sampling technique using purposive sampling with 30 respondents who experienced dysmenorrhea during menstruation . The instrument used is the NRS (Numerical Rating Scale) assessing pain using a scale of 1-10. Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test . Based on the results of non-parametric statistical analysis, namely by using the Wilcoxon test, the P-value is 0.000 < 0.05 , which means that there is an effect of consumption of green coconut water on the level of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents at Madrasah Aliyah Manaratul Islam, South Jakarta in 2022. There is a difference between the level of dysmenorrhea pain before and after consumption of green coconut water, so it can be concluded that there is also an effect of consumption of green coconut water on dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents at Madrasah Aliyah Manaratul Islam South Jakarta in 2022.

Abstract

It is difficult to translate stories that have cultural components. The story's purpose and content must be understood by the translator. Additionally, the translator needs to be culturally aware. Google Translate makes it simple for translators to translate the story's sentences, words, and phrases. But after being translated by Google Translate, certain words and phrases have different meanings. The goal of this study is to identify translation issues in words or sentences that Google Translate has translated. This study makes use of content analysis in qualitative research. The researcher discovered that translations of words referring to food and drink that incorporate aspects of Betawi culture are often inaccurate. Additionally, terms with cultural connotations like babe and munjung have not been translated according to their meaning.

Abstract

China is a country that is very ambitious to improve its economy through economic cooperation with other countries under the giant Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) idea. The China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) is a bilateral cooperation between China and Australia that was formed on December 20th 2015. Even though it benefited both parties, this cooperation was canceled due to China being threatened by Australia's initiative which proposed an investigation into the origin of COVID-19. -19. Therefore, this article analyzes the impact of BRI Cancellation further. This research uses a qualitative methodology with secondary data collection techniques obtained through a literature study. the author uses the concept of international cooperation and trade war as analytical tools. From this research, the authors found that the cancellation of this cooperation resulted in a loss of export and import markets for both countries. however, this cancellation did not have a significant impact on the economies of the two countries because China and Australia respectively managed to find a replacement market as an alternative to offset losses from this cancellation.

Abstract

This research focused on the translation strategy used in figurative language. The aim of this research is to find out the translation strategy used in the Disney movie Cruella based on the translation strategy by Mona Baker (2018). This research used McArthur (1992) to classify the figurative language in the movie. This research is applied to the qualitative descriptive method. There are 19 data in figurative language collected by the researcher. However, there are only 17 data analyzed with four translation strategies. There is a translation by a more general word, translation by a more neutral/expressive word, translation by using related words, and translation by using unrelated words. The findings indicate that the translator applied most translation by a more general word strategy in this case, because the translator was dealing with many types of non-equivalent words in the target language.

Abstract

The competency in speaking English should be owned and mastered by all English teachers. They should become the appropriate model for their students in and outside the classroom. Students generally expect their English teacher to be good mostly at speaking. They tend to imitate and learn from their teachers, particularly in the level of speaking. Speaking English, as one of the productive skills, cannot be assessed directly and objectively by unqualified and inexperienced assessor. Therefore, there are scoring guide of speaking assessment and scale criteria used in assessing. Data were obtained from nine English teachers from three different high schools in Teluk Kuantan; MAN Teluk Kuantan (a state Islamic high school), SMAN Pintar Kuansing (a superior state boarding school funded by government), and SMAN 1 Teluk Kuantan (a state senior high school). The assessments of English teachers’ speaking skill were undertaken from the records of daily conversation, their interaction in the classroom, interview, and the questionnaire sheet given to the students. The result shows that those teachers generally had good speaking skill but there were some aspects in speaking assessment not fulfilled. Those aspects are pronunciation, grammar accuracy, vocabulary, and fluency. The highest score went to Mr. S from MAN Teluk Kuantan, with his teaching innovations were student-centred-learning, project-based-learning, and social network-based-learning. Ms. D (SMAN 1 Teluk Kuantan) and Ms. Ar (SMAN Pintar Kuansing) were in the second and third ranking. Here shown that the superior school could not guarantee its teachers had speaking skill better than other schools’ teachers.
