Abstract

South Kalimantan as a province prone to hydrometeorological disasters requires patterned settlement efforts. This solution requires systematic and patterned steps through the application of regulations and a culture of disaster awareness through socialization carried out by the government of Banjar Regency, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, and Tabalong Regency. The rise of social media used by the community can be a strategic choice in optimizing the dissemination of disaster information, especially floods. The method used in this study is interpretive qualitative, with a media ecology approach. The media ecology approach assumes that you can see people's behavior in capturing disaster information through social media. The theory used is New Media, and Phenomenology.

Abstract

This research intends to find out the effectiveness of Video on students' ability in writing descriptive text at eight grade of SMP GKPS 3 Pematangsiantar. This research was designed as a quantitative method with quasi experimental research design. The data was taken from two class as the participants with a total of 60 students. Thirty students of VIII A and also thirty students of VIII B. The experimental class was treated using Video while control class was not treated using Video. The data were obtained by using pretest, treatment, and posttest. The pretest was held to know the students` basic ability or score before treatment was given. Meanwhile, the posttest was held to know the students` achievement and the significant effect the students' were taught through Video. The score of t-test (2,38) is higher than table (2,002) at the level of significance 5% for two tailed test, so Null Hypothesis is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis is accepted. Finally, by knowing the result, it is better if English teacher Using the Video media to improve the students' ability in writing descriptive text.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to describing the students’ problem in speaking and finding out the factors that influence students’ eleventh grade in speaking. This researcher used qualitative method. The results showed that the students problem in speaking such as the students often do not have self-confidence in speaking because they often feel afraid to making mistake, the students do not motivation to perform their speaking skill in front of class, the teaching technique and teaching materials are not interesting for the students, almost students are not able to express their ideas or their opinions in oral communication because they often still use Indonesian and mother tongue in learning process in English class, The students do not speak English well because they lack of practice.

Abstract

The main issues of this research is how to solve problem in writing skill of senior hight school through picture ang picture method. The objective of the research are as follows; (1). To solve student in limited knowledge of Grammar and Vocabulary, (2) to develop the student ideas in writing skill. The methods/approaches used in achieving the following objectives; (a). its can motivate the student to write correctly. (b). its can stimulate and possible to guide written description. (c). it can help the student to provide information to be referred to in discussion or storytelling. Research subject is the students of tenth grade in Senior High School 1 Pematangsiantar. Base on the result the researcher can conclude that using picture and picture method can solve problem writing skill of Senior Hight School’s student

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the problems of students' reading skills. The method in this research is the classroom action research method. The subjects or participants in this study were at SMA TAMAN MADYA TAMAN SISWA PEMATANGSIANTAR, to be precise, the class XII students with the number of participants were 22 students. Of the five aspects of reading comprehension, vocabulary experienced the highest increase, while the lowest increase was in the main idea. The purpose of the Think Aloud Method is for students to better understand the text, find the main idea, detailed information, inference, reference and vocabulary understanding, all of which increase. The Think Aloud method not only makes reading learning more interesting, but also improves students' ability to understand texts

Abstract

There are many translation processes in translating a source language into the target language. The translation is done without changing the original meaning of the word from the source language. This research was conducted using a qualitative method because it did not use numbers. The research was taken by using compound words as examples of words to be translated. For this reason, this research was conducted to see the process of translating in English into Indonesian.

Abstract

This research was aims to see effect of riddle game on students’ vocabulary mastery at grade ten of SMK Swasta HKBP Pematangsiantar. This research use 20 multiple choice with using pre-test and post-test in experimental and control group but different treatment. This research design was quantitative research. As experimental research, aimed to know the effect of techniques that given, whether in influenced to the object or not. The sample of this research took from two classes that consist of 56 students (28 students in experimental group in class X TBSM1 and 28 students in control group was X TBSM2).The researcher found that the mean of pre-test in experimental group was 80,16 and the mean of pre-test in control group was 56 and the research also found that t-test was higher than t-table. It showed from df:54 (28+28-2) with the table was 1,67 and the level of significances 0,05. It showed that t-test was higher than t-table (2,08> 1,67). Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Finally, the research concluded that there was significant effect of riddle game to the students’ vocabulary mastery at grade ten of SMK Swasta HKBP Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out the implementation of blended learning in teaching English. The design of this research was a survey research that was conducted in SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar. The research instrument was 20 items of closed-ended questionnaire in order to find students’ satisfaction towards the implementation of English blended learning. The sample of this research was 102 students in the tenth grade of 2021/2022 Academic Year. It was found that the respondents were satisfied towards the implementation of English blended learning. The students considered that the blended learning was monotonous because it was just like the face-to-face learning. The teacher needed to add some activities to cope this problem. In conclusion, English blended learning has encouraged students to do collaborative, innovative, and creative learning.

Abstract

This study aims to partially or simultaneously examine the impact of transfer pricing, capital intensity, and political connections on tax aggressiveness. This study uses pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2017-2021. The sample collection technique was carried out using a purposive sampling method, which in the end, obtained a total of 35 samples. The multiple regression method was used for data analysis. The results showed that transfer pricing, capital intensity, and political connection had no significant effect on tax aggressiveness partially or simultaneously.

Abstract

Purpose-This study aims to analyze financing growth and other factors that affect the risk and stability of Islamic banks in Indonesia, Malaysia and Bahrain. Methodology-This study uses a quantitative approach with a dynamic panel type that uses the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) method to analyze the impact of financing growth and the factors that affect financing risk and the stability of Islamic banks. Findings-The results showed that faster growth in Islamic bank financing increased non-performing financing which resulted in losses and worsened the stability of Islamic banks. Variables of Capital and Size of the bank moderate the growth of financing which increases the non-performing financing of Islamic Banks. Furthermore, profitability describes the level of efficiency which indicates the low financing risk faced. Implication-These results imply that the growth of Islamic bank financing needs more regulationfurther by strengthening financing risk management as long as financing demand and financing growth increase,by the application of Prudential Banking principles, it is necessary to minimize financing risk and maintain Islamic Bank Stability. Originality-Research on the impact of financing growth on the risk and stability of Islamic banks is still limited. Therefore, this research will contribute to financing growth and the factors that affect the risk and stability of Islamic banks.
