AL-FALAH: Journal of Islamic Economics is scientific journal of Islamic Economics based on both conceptual and empirical research. It concerns to extensively publish the issues of islamic economics which study through interdiscipline perspectives such as fiqh, shariah finance, islamic bank, islamic development economics, and also economic sociology. The journal is published by Curup State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN), Bengkulu, Indonesia. Published twice in a year, on June and December, the journal of Al-Falah is projected as a media, sphere, and dessemination of scholars studies on islamic economics issues. Therefore, Al-Falah invites all of participants, scholars, researchers, and Muslim economists to submit their best-papers, and publish it in Al-Falah: Journal of Islamic Economics.

Abstract

Purpose: Ecosystem problems are an increasingly complex and serious global problem faced by human beings around the world. More and more production with the use of modern technology to exploit nature continuously resulted in the declining quality of the environment. The core of a green economy is low carbon growth, resource efficiency, and social inclusivity, which have implications for sustainable development, energy management, a green economy in urban areas, as well as green business. This is in accordance with the values in Islamic economics, especially analyzed from the Maqashidal-Shariah point of view. This study intended to give an overview of halal industry management and environment conservation in the view of Maqashid ShariaDesign: This study was a literature study to overview the management of halal industry and environment conservation in the view of Maqashid Sharia.Findings: Economic dissemination with the universal values of Maqashid Sharia (linking environmental issues with aspects of sharia objectives) in fiqh al-bi'ah resulted in a decrease in the passive attitude of the community. The basis of the green economy on the problem of inequality caused by the unequal distribution of green production factors can be overcome based on the principles of al-adl (justice), Maslahah (public interest) and Musawah (equality).Originality/Values: Various obstacles that arise will be overcome because the purpose of Sharia is a concept based on the guidelines set by the Creator.

Abstract

Purpose: Cash Waqf becomes an important issue as a solution to improve the welfare of today’s’ societies. The various studies have been conducted both theoretically and empirically to produce findings in the cash waqf study. This study aims to map writings related to cash waqf.Design/Method/Approach: This research is a quantitative descriptive research through mapping research on cash waqf.Findings: The results of the study showed that writing using the search for cash waqf titles indexed Scopus is as many as 43 documents. While the title search with the word Cash Waqf on Google Scholar as many as 529 documents. Scopus's most-cited indexed journal usurious piety: The Cash Waqf Controversy in the Ottoman Empire was written by J. Mandaville for 79 citations. While on Google Scholar writing with the title Cash waqf and its influence on poverty alleviation program in Indonesia by M Nur al-Arif as many as 451 citations.Originality/Values: The main contribution to this study is to find out the extend of research on cash waqf and the rarely studied themes about cash waqf.

Abstract

Purpose: Analyzing problems about the factors that influence the development of SMEs in Mandailing Natal. Finding the right model to develop MSMEs in Mandailing Natal.Design/Method/Approach: This research using a qualitative-quantitative approach, with the Analytic method Network Processing (ANP).Findings: The factors that influence the development of MSMEs in Mandailing Natal Regency are human resources, community culture, business management, regulation, competitiveness, capital, and marketing.Originality/Values: Appropriate model to develop MSME in Mandailing Natal district is One Village One Product (OVOP) model based on triple Helix and application of Triple-T Technology Revolution.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper discusses about maximization the land    waqf assets of south Tapanuli Regency reached an area of 108.07 (Ha) with a total of 411 land waqf assets,both certified and uncertified, but the condition did not develop all. Meanwhile, the mandate of the law of the republic of Indonesia number 41 of 2004 in articles 42-43 emphasizes that nazir is obliged to manage and develop waqf assets in accordance with their objectives, functions and designations with sharia principles cerried out productively.Design/Method/Approach: This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The subjects were waqf land asset, nazir and nazir institutions of waqf land assets in south Tapanuli regency. The population is 411 and the sample is 20 %. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interview documentation and literature review.Findings: From this study we found thatthe potential of human resources of land waqf assets has great potential in managing and empowering land waqf assets, but this potential is not optimally empowered because of the unsupportive perception of nazir, lack of responsibility, passed away, relocation, and did not implement his duties as nazir and waqf land assets are idle. The another obstacle are financial capital that is not supported, nazir’s salary is not clear and  does not have an entrepreneurial spirit (such as creative spirit, innovation, skills in empowering waqf land assets).Originality/Values: understand nazir that the importance of land waqf is productively empowered

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine how the implementation of maqashid sharia in sharia business transactions such as Sharia Banking, Sharia Cooperatives and Sharia Insurance.Design/Method/Approach: This research is a descriptive research. This research was conducted by analyzing the implementation of maqashid sharia in sharia business transactions. This research uses a qualitative approach. The sources of this research are secondary data, and the data sources are obtained through various sources such as books, journals, or websites. The technique used in this research is to examine important notes or materials related to the object of researchFindings: Maqashid Syariah in sharia business transactions such as sharia banking, sharia cooperatives and sharia insurance has been implemented properly. It was proven byIslamic banks that help people achieve goodness and provide benefits for their lives and stay away from harm. In a Sharia Cooperative, the implementation of Maqashid Sharia is manifested in a sharia cooperative that can help prosper the lives of its members. Meanwhile, in Maqashid Syariah Insurance, it can be seen from Helping in the face of a risk.Organally/Value: The results of this study can be used as learning materials and knowledge for readers and financial institutions and can be used as a reference for learning about the implementation of maqashid sharia in Islamic financial institutions. Because, this study finds out how the implementation of maqashid sharia in Islamic financial institutions such as sharia insurance, sharia banking, and sharia cooperatives.

Abstract

Purpose: This research analyzed the implementation of education financing at MA Nurul Haq Semurup as well as the consequences and impacts of these policies on Sharia economy, educators and education personnel, madrasah environments, learning activities, and students.Design/Method/Approach: This research use descriptive qualitative approach. Sources of data came from the principal and teacher of MA Nurul Haq Semurup by using a research instrument in the form of closed interviews. The data obtained is then processed by stages of understanding the substance of the education financing standards contained in government policies and scientific articles, analyzing the results of interviews, analyzing the consequences and impacts of financing policies, as well as verifying and drawing conclusions.Findings: The results showed that MA Nurul Haq Semurup education financing was carried out in two ways, namely investment costs focused on financing learning facilities and human resource development, and operational costs focusing on educators' salaries and education personnel, student activities, consumables, indirect education, power subscriptions and services. The management of madrasah financing implemented has an impact on Sharia Economy (muamalah avoids Maysir, Gharar, Haram, and Riba), improving the competence of educators and education personnel, cleanliness and comfort of the madrasah environment, harmony between fellow madrasah personnel, systematic, measurable, and orderly madrasah governance,  learning activities become interesting, meaningful, effective, and efficient, the spirit of leadership, independence, and discipline of students is formed, and students gain theoretical and practical learning.Originality/Values: The contribution of this research can provide valuable information related to education financing and become a reference of choice for other schools in the expenditure costs that have been set by the government and do not ignore the provisions in sharia economy.

Abstract

Purpose: The Paper is to study the Restukturization Of Financing During The Covid-19 Pandemic: Maqashid Paradigm As-Syar'iyahDesign/Method/Approach : This research uses qualitative methods with a library study approach. in analyzing the position of financing restucturization during the pandemic from the point of view of maqasid al-syar'iyahFindings: The discussion is considered important because by digging from the point of view of muamalah figh in terms of Magashid Syari’ah so that the discussion specifically becomes the first two discussions, from the restructuring process of financing during the pandemic, restructuring which was developed with the istimbat ahkam with the aim of magashid syari’ah as part of Hifdul Maal [Maintaining Property] which is motivated by the social condition of public health, namely during the pandemic period empirically with analysis and argumentation, the second is the harmonization of syari’ah policies with the situation. Research subject related to causes and reasons for implementing decisions on financing restricting with Magashid Syari’ah., a paradigm developed through financing risk mitigation and the Magashid As-Syari’ah paradigm in legal protection based on the existence of benefits that are dharuriyyat [primary needs]. Hajiyat [secondary needs], and Tahsinivat [tertiary needs], with regard to protection of proferty [hifdz a-Maal] and hifdz al –nafs [guarding the soul] with legal arguments built starting from the view that the return on financing is carried out from bank financial institutioins Sharia is an obligation that must be fulfilled, in the process of fulfilling the obligatons given by financial institutions based on general and special considerations, especialty for conditions beyons the will and ability of humans, the ability to return financing is hindered due the covid-19 pandemic, there is a restructuring formulation. A is, namely postponemet of loan principal, postponement of principal and margin, delay of remaining principal extension of repayment period, and reduction in margins on people’s business financing (PUR) Originality/Values: The main contribution of this research is a concern in filling the gap in how the concept of Islamic economics in the restucturization of financing to business actors

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study is to knowing the concept of sharia tourism services and facilities at Biru Kersik Coast in Marangkayu through reviewing the DSN-MUI Fatwa number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016, and how its development accompanied by supporting and inhibiting factors.Design/Method/Approach: This study uses a descriptive analytical approach, to reveal a problem and the situation as it is at Biru Kersik Coast. It intensively implemented a qualitative approach to obtain information. The data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The selected informants who are directly related to the Biru Kersik Coast Tourist.Findings: The concept of Biru Kersik Coast tourism services and facilities in Marangkayu are worthy as a tourist destination because of the accessibility and facilities provided. A sharia review of the Biru Kersik Coast tourist attraction in Marangkayu shows that the Coast has not yet fully adopted tourism services and facilities according to sharia principles because there are several aspects that have not been fulfilled such as not being separated between male and female visitors. Meanwhile, aspects that are in accordance with sharia principles are the presence of facilities and infrastructure for worship, bathrooms and places for ablution, halal food and drinks, and does not provide access to pornography and immoral acts as well as entertainment that leads to polytheism and immorality.Originality/Values: The main contribution in this study is to determine the suitability between the tourist destinations of Samarinda Biru Kersik Coast with the DSN-MUI, so as to create a tourism environment that is in accordance with sharia. Therefore, the atmosphere in tourism will provide a safe environment, without fear of things that are forbidden by the sharia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to look at the monetary system from an Islamic perspective.Design/Method/Approach: This research is literature research using a qualitative approach and using descriptive methods related to the discussion.Findings: The results of the study indicate that it is necessary to abolish the interest system, increase investment, maximize zakat instruments, and others regarding cross-subsidies or bridges between the rich and the poor, and besides that, the central bank is obliged to assess the demand for money in the context of price stability and other monetary policy targets. Originality/Values: The main contribution of this research is to fill the gap. The majority of studies mainly focus on the conceptual and theoretical aspects of the Islamic monetary economy without any empirical validation in the field. The author suggests the application of Islamic monetary instruments to carry out the ideal goals of management-based Islamic monetary.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to present perfume used as a product in halal standardization. Halal standards in products are currently in legal interest to ensure the quality and trustworthiness of products that are widely circulating in the market. The application of halal standardization must be considered by all consumers, especially by students and teachers as people who know and learn about Islamic teaching. Like in the phenomenon of previous research found the humans are using perfume only to preserve appearances without any attention for the essential elements of the product.Design/Method/Approach: The approach in this research is to use descriptive qualitative methods. In connection with this, data collection was also carried out regarding the number of students and teachers, the number and type of perfume, as well as sales data and applicable halal product standards. The research data was obtained from the interview of the students and the teachers of Darussalam Gontor Islamic Institution in Magelang.Findings: The results of this study found some of the students and teachers at the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Institution Magelang are using the perfume as cosmetics daily use. The sales data and the applicable halal product standards concluded that perfume products sold by the operation section and mini market and used by most of the students and teacher, have not all had halal standards and certificates. In addition, both students and teachers still do not know about the halal standards that apply to perfume products.Originality/Values: It can be concluded that the research perfume products sold by the student and teachers have not all had halal standards and certificates. However, MUI still urges the public to choose cosmetics that are halal and avoid cosmetic products that are unclean or haram.
