Procedia Studi Kasus dan Intervensi Psikologi (Procedia) merupakan publikasi berkala yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Magister Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Procedia terbit mulai tahun 2013, terbit 4 kali setahun pada Maret, Juni, September dan Desember dalam bentuk elektronik/online. Artikel Procedia merupakan artikel hasil penelitian intervensi atau laporan praktik keprofesian psikologi. Procedia adalah publikasi akses terbuka dalam berbagai bidang intervensi psikologi, antara lain: klinis, sosial, pendidian, industri/organisasi dan perkembangan.

The community in this case is parents with children with special needs totaling 30 people who have children with special needs with age ranges of 3-12 years. The problem that occurs is that parents do not understand how to teach children in terms of self-care, so that children are less independent in self-care such as toileting, dressing and eating independently. The purpose of this intervention is to provide psycho-education to parents to improve parents' knowledge and skills on how to teach self-care to children with special needs through 15 cadres. The assessment uses for interviews, questionnaires, and checklist. The intervention used is psycho-education with the lecture method. The results of the intervention was of cadres increased in terms of their knowledge about the independence of self-care for children with special needs. The average value of the pre test is 4.8667 and the post test is 10.6000. After the intervention, parents also better understand what is meant by self-care for children with special needs and apply it to their children.

Parents have an important role in parenting. The care provided tends to be less appropriate and will have a negative impact on child development. In the case of a community in one RW (Rukun Warga) in Malang, there are some problems regarding parenting that tend to apply one-way communication that aims to make their children independent. Parents tend to limit their children to socialize in the surrounding environment for safety reasons. Both of those decisions are taken on the grounds of wanting to protect the child and form the independence of the child. However, the impact makes the children tend to lack confidence, and are less able to socialize with the environment which will affect their development in the future. The purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge of parents with disabilities about parenting. Assessment methods used are community interviews, observation, questionnaires, and scales. The intervention used is psychoeducation with lecture and roleplay techniques consisting of 6 sessions. The result of the intervention is an increase in the knowledge of parents who have children with special needs. Before treatment, the average knowledge of parents was 2.40 in the less category increased to 4.94 in the good category. The average skill of parents before treatment was 2.17 with the underprivileged category increasing by 3.36 in the quite capable category.

Aggression is any form of behavior that is intended to hurt someone physically or psychologically. The behavioral characteristics are based on several aspects, namely aspects of physical aggression, verbal, anger and hostility. Subject (female / 9 years) has a problem of aggressive behavior. The assessments used were clinical interviews, observations, psychological tests (CAT and CPM). The results showed that the subject carried out aggressive behavior as a result of the learning process modeling from his father, and followed the same behavioral response in order to get the wants and needs desired. The intervention given uses storytelling to reduce aggressive behavior in children. The results obtained that storytelling can effectively reduce aggressive behavior in children.

Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) is a condition in which individuals are afraid to get negative evaluations from others, stay away from situations related to evaluation, and expect others to evaluate negatively. This is in accordance with the subject where she experiences anxiety when interacting with strangers, expresses opinions in many people's forums and finds it difficult to interact with men. This condition is caused her belief will be judged negatively by others. The assessment was carried out using interviews, observation. Graphic tests (Draw a Person, BAUM, House Tree Person) and Sack’s Sentences Completion Test. Cognitive therapy with cognitive restructuring are given yo reducing anxiety that is judged negatively by others. The results show that the subject can realize that her thoughts are not always correct, so she no longer focuses on the negative judgments of others

Children with intellectual disability (ID) are susceptible to poor experiences of care and treatment outcomes, and this may compound existing health inequities. ID itself can has comorbidities with any other pathologies, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Based on the assessment data, subject seems to be dependent to her parent, not able to sit quietly, and not able to understand long and complex instructions. Subject complained by her parent because of the high frequencies of snacking unhealthy beverages. Assessment methods were interviews, observation, Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC), and Conner’s Parent Rating Scale – Revised (CPRS-R). The intervention given to overcome these problems was negative reinforcement. The results of the intervention showed that the behavior of snacking unhealthy beverages can be reduced.

Communication between family members is an important thing that must always be built, because without positive communication there will be problematic interactions in the family. The family in this case consisted of father (58 years), mother (52 years) and child (26 years). The father is a retiree, the mother is a housewife and the children are private employees. This family complains about family conditions that are less harmonious. This is characterized by minimal interaction at home and poor communication. Based on the assessment results, it was found that there was unhealthy communication between family members and poor interaction patterns which resulted in low family harmony. The intervention applied to the family is solution-focused family therapy. The aim of the intervention is to improve family harmony by improving patterns of communication and interaction within the family. The results of the intervention show changes in communication and interaction patterns that have an impact on increasing family harmony.

The subject was an 18-year-old woman who had just graduated from vocational high school. Diagnosis of depression with symptoms of decreased interest in doing activities, no appetite, insomnia at night, but sleeping long enough during the day. Having excessive feelings of guilt and worthlessness, decreased concentration,and difficulty focusing. There is a specific plan to commit suicide with the desire to drink clothes fragrances and eat spicy food. The assessment used included interviews, observations and psychological tests, and BDI questionnaires. The intervention used to overcome the subject's problems is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Intervention targets can change the subject's thinking about his abilities and future to be more realistic. The results of the intervention showed that CBT was effective in reducing depression in subjects. The subject can change his negative thinking regarding abilities and the future and has returned to carry out daily activities.

Individuals with autistic disorders need to always be trained in terms of self-care by themselves. The purpose of this study was to increase self-care autonomy in children with autism, namely bathing, dressing and brushing their teeth. This research uses a qualitative case study approach with one subject. Collecting data using interview, observation and The Childhood Autism Spectrum Test (CAST). The intervention was carried out using the positive reinforcement method with reinforcements in the form of hugs and praise. The intervention was carried out in five sessions. The results of the intervention showed an increase in self-care skills in the form of bathing, dressing and brushing teeth. Thus it can be said that the positive reinforcement method can improve self-care autonomy in children with autism spectrum disorder.

Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that includes behavioral, emotional, and cognitive disorders. This affects the sufferer in daily activities. Supportive therapy is given to improve the adaptive and interpersonal functions of the subject, in order to control themselves and restore adaptive balance, especially in daily activities. The assessment used were interviews, observation, psychological tests, Wartegg, Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), and Woodworth's Character Questionnaires (WWQ). The results of the intervention showed that there was a change in the daily lives of subjects who were often silent to become individuals who began to diligently carry out activities while in rehabilitation institutions. Subjects who often remain silent begin to be able to carry out activities that have been created in accordance with the collective agreement.

Anxiety disorder is a condition characterized by excessive and uncontrollable anxiety, fear, and worry in everyday life for no apparent reason. People with anxiety disorders usually tend to always have bad thoughts or distorted thought patterns, for example feeling that something bad will happen to them and can't stop at work and other important aspects so that their daily life is dominated by worry and fear. This subject has a distorted thinking that causes him to experience anxiety disorders. The assesment method was clinical interviews, observation, BAUM and DAP tests, self-reports and the Beck’s Anxiety Inventory. Cognitive therapy used to reduce anxiety levels.
