Abstract

The N219 Amphibious Aircraft is an aircraft that, under certain conditions, can land on land and in water. The N219A Aircraft Development team is developing the aircraft. A flight test is at the end of this process. The condition of water being calm and protected against significant waves is one of the criteria for the selection of a position for the flight test. This paper provides an overview of the coastal zone, including waters and land on the N219 Amphibious Flight Test, Karimunjawa Island, Jepara Regency, Central Java. Identification of aircraft flight test infrastructure needs derived from several air navigability and flight security regulations. In addition, analysis is conducted on the features of the waters including: wave conditions, wind direction and magnitude, wave direction and waves height, current direction and speed, and the bathymetric conditions derived from reliable data. In furthermore, the software used in the analysis of hydro-oceanographic conditions in western-east moonsoons was used to carry out mathematical modelling. The flight test facilities of the N219A include water facilities such as take-off/landing routes, turning basin facilities and land facilities which include hangars and supporting facilities. For the purpose of the flight test the layout plan for water and land facilities is adjusted to comply with the requirements and characteristics of the Karimunjawa Island coastal area

Abstract

Shipbuilding in shipyards can’t be separated from uncertain risks that can occur, so it’s necessary to carry out a risk management analysis to minimize and take action so that risks can be avoided and overcome. Risk analysis can be carried out using consequence and probability matrix techniques, one of the risk management in SNI IEC/ISO 31010:2016 by combining the consequences and probability assessments to produce a risk level. Risk assessment is the overall process of hazard identification, risk analysis, and risk evaluation. The purpose of this study was to identify hazards in new building works and determine the magnitude of the level of consequences and probability of a risk arising by using consequence and probability matrix techniques and determining the proper risk treatment or mitigation. The benefit of this study is to find out the various hazards and risk level categories using consequence and probability matrix techniques, as well as being a reference in treating or mitigating work accident risks on new building works in shipyards. The results showed that there were 14 hazards from 3 series of activity that is plate cutting, welding, and lifting. Risk analysis is obtained from the mode or the highest value in the probability assessment with the highest mode or value in the consequence assessment based on the respondent’s answer. The risk scale from the risk analysis shows that there’s a moderate level of risk (priority III), low risk (priority IV), and very low risk (priority V) in new building work at PT. Industri Kapal Indonesia. Treatment or mitigation of risk that can be carried out is to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), periodic maintenance of equipment, completing safety signs in the field, and working according to the applicable SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).

Abstract

One of the efforts made to reduce exhaust emissions or pollution produced by petroleum-fueled engines is to make the combustion reaction take place perfectly on fishing boats by enriching the oxygen source in the fuel, namely by adding additives with compounds that are rich in oxygen and can be dissolved in the fuel. burn it. One alternative additive that is good and environmentally friendly and has been developed is to use essential oils. The purpose of this study focused on the potential of clove leaf essential oils, namely eugenol, caryophyllene, rhodinol and citronellal as bio-additives in diesel fuel to reduce emissions resulting from the combustion process in fishing boat engines. The bio additive materials used in this study were clove leaf oil and eugenol and caryophyllene compounds contained in clove leaf oil. The emission test results from the addition of clove leaf oil bio-additives reduced CO levels by 30%, NO 36%, SO 12% and total particulates 30%, Eugenol reduced levels of CO 37%, NO 38%, SO 32%, and total particulates 40%, Caryophyllene reduced levels of CO 24%, NO 19%, SO 33% and total particulates 16%. So from the addition of essential oil from clove leaves is an effective solution in saving fuel and reducing emissions.

Abstract

The fishing boats used by fishermen on Puger Beach generally still use traditional wooden fishing boats, which were modified from the previous boat design. But over time, the availability of wood decreases. So it is necessary to have alternative basic materials for the manufacture of fishing vessels. An alternative that can replace wood as the basic material for making fishing boats in Puger is fiberglass. Fishing vessels in Puger have varied sizes so it is necessary to analyze the optimum vessel size to operate in Puger. In maintaining ship safety and shipworthiness, a comparison between several parameters of existing fishing vessels is needed. By using the optimization method and then analyzed so that the optimal ship size parameters are obtained. So the optimization results from the ship model in Puger are for a length (L) of 15.57 m, a width (B) of 4.34 m, a ship's height (H) of 1.49 m, and a ship's draft (T) of 0.56 m. From the optimal size of the vessel, then a drawing of the shape of the hull of a fishing vessel made of fiberglass is carried out. The evaluation carried out is the ship's performance such as resistance, stability, and ship seakeeping. So that in determining the shape of the hull which has the characteristics of resistance, stability, and good seakeeping, the ship is in accordance with Puger. So that it can improve and increase the performance of the fishing boats with the aim of the results of this study being to provide recommendations for improving the design of traditional fishing boats in the waters of Puger, Jember Regency

Abstract

The main variable to increasing the ship's fuel efficiency is the ship's resistance generated by the hull shape. The calculation of ship resistance can be done with software. This study aims to determine the total resistance of the ship and estimate the fuel requirements of the catamaran. The catamaran hull design uses a symmetrical catamaran, the same design as the ship model of Jamaluddin et, al. (2012) in the towing tank test. The model obtained is then calculated for ship resistance and fuel requirements. The method of calculating ship resistance is using the Holtrop method. The results of the analysis of ship resistance are obtained from several variations of the wave-piercing model to get a lower resistance value so that more optimal fuel efficiency is achievable. Based on the analysis and calculations using CFD, from 3 variations of the wave-piercing shape, it shows a 6.1% reduction in resistance on the MV6 model with a variation of fn 0.19-0.65. The MV6 model is obtained the resistance value, the most efficient motor fuel consumption of other wave-piercing types.Roman

Abstract

The propeller is a key component in ship propulsion as a means of producing thrust to move the ship. The damage that occurs to the propeller on the propeller leaf is fouling, erosion occurs due to cavitation, cracks and bends occur due to collision. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of welding position and filler diameter on the results of welding repair of propeller leaf with GMAW. The tests carried out are tensile tests, hardness tests, impact tests and macrographic observations. Tensile test results on GMAW welding for maximum tensile strength at the 2G welding position have a high ultimate tensile strength value. In the 1G and 2G welding positions the macrographic observations were good because there were no welding defects found compared to the 3G welding position. The highest hardness results in 1G welding compared to 2G and 3G welding positions. The result of the highest impact test is the 1G welding position compared to the 2G and 3G welding positions. Based on the results of testing the difference in filler diameter, defects were found in the test samples at the position of 2G filler 1.2 mm, 3G filler 1.0 mm, and 3G filler 1.2 mm, while the position of 1G filler 1.0 mm, 1G filler 1.2 mm, and 2G 1.0 mm filler found no defects. For the tensile test, the hardness and impact on the 1.0 mm filler diameter have a high average value compared to the 1.2 mm filler diameter.

Abstract

El Nino–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is a symptom of deviation in the surface temperature of the Pacific Ocean on the west coast of Ecuador and Peru which is higher than the normal average which is characterized by an increase in sea surface temperature in the Central and Eastern equatorial regions. ENSO climate variability consists of three phenomena, namely normal events, El Nino and La Nina. The development of the El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event demonstrates an important role for the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). This phenomenon is suspected to have a relationship and is closely related to the decrease and increase in the intensity of rainfall in Indonesia. This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the relationship between the ENSO and MJO phenomena and their impacts in Aceh Province, through empirical methods with statistical calculations, based on ENSO variables in the form of the Nino 3.4 index, amplitude variables representing the MJO and rainfall data in Aceh Province. The data for these two variables were obtained from NOAA and BoM, while the rainfall data was obtained from NASA. The data period analyzed is 10 years, from 2010 to 2019. The two data will be filtered and analyzed for correlation using a simple linear regression method. From this study it was found that basically ENSO does have a relationship with the MJO and has a relationship with increasing and decreasing rainfall intensity in Aceh Province. However, the correlation is at a weak to moderate level, and the impact is not as strong in the Central and Eastern regions of Indonesia. This strengthens the hypothesis of the weak influence of ENSO in Aceh Province; where the strengthening of the MJO is more about its synergy with the IOD or Indian Ocean Dipole, especially on the positive value (P-IOD).

Abstract

The use of modern machinery and installations and hazardous materials is increasing. In addition, a work environment that does not meet the requirements for occupational safety and health, hazardous work processes and nature, as well as an increase in the intensity of the operational work of the workforce, affects the increase in the number and seriousness of work accidents. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research so that the data entered are in the form of words, sentences and pictures, which are then scored to determine the level of danger before carrying out the work. In conducting a job safety analysis, what is done is to determine the work to be analyzed, divide the work into several work steps or standard operating procedures, identify potential hazards, risk assessment, evaluate risk and determine the level of risk and prevention. The assessment of the risk value analysis on replating work has a value of up to 8, indicating the need for control measures in the process. Then the coating work on the fuel area and main deck also have a risk value of 8, so it is also necessary to take control measures on the coating process in that area.
