The population objects in this study were all of elderly farmers with low back pain complaints which were recorder in the elderly medical center, which contained of 32 samples in total and were determined using simple random sampling technique. The independent variable in this study was Tai Chi gymnastic and low back pain of elderly farmers as dependent variable. Verbal descriptor scale was used as the data collection method. This study was using editing, coding, scoring and tabulating as data processing techniques, and Wilcoxon signed rank test on testing the statistics. The result of this study showed the percentages of each low back pain phases, which contained of 41% mild low back pain, 50% moderate low back pain and 9% hard low back pain before tai chi gymnastics. Besides, the percentages of low back pain phases after tai chi gymnastic were 69% for mild low back pain, 31% moderate low back pain and 0% hard low back pain. The result of Wilcoxon signed rank test showed that the p-value = 0.001 < 0.05, so that H0 was rejected. The conclusion there was an effect of Tai chi gymnastic on decreasing low back pain of elderly farmers. Keywords: low back pain; elderly farmers; Tai chi gymnastic

Abstract

Measles is an infectious disease, infecting many children and becomes a major cause of child mortality in Indonesia. This disease is highly contagious, transmitted by viruses through droplets. Undeveloped immunity and low immunization coverage make it potentially epidemic. According to the 2016 Health Profile of Magetan Regency, measles cases were ranked first. Indonesia is committed to achieve the elimination of measles in 2020, with strategies such as the Measles Rubella vaccine campaign for children between 9 months-15 years. The research purpose was to analyze the factor of measles after the 2017 measles rubella vaccine campaign in Magetan Regency. This research used retrospective case control research design, the case sample was all the measles patients after the MR vaccine campaign until July 2018, as many as 16. The control sample was a part of the Magetan Regency population who did not suffer measles, as many as 64, determined with a ratio of 1:4. The research variables were immunization status, gender, exclusive breastfeeding, patient contact history, and knowledge of measles. The results showed that there is an effect of immunization status on the incidence of measles. The probability of someone who was not immunized is 81% for measles infection compared to those who are immunized. There is no influence of gender, exclusive breastfeeding, patient contact history, and knowledge of measles on the incidence of measles. Conclusion: immunization factor is the dominant factor that influence the incidence of measles. Suggestion: to reduce morbidity and mortality rates due to measles, Health Center (Puskesmas) is expected to increase the coverage of measles immunization, supported by highest quality of vaccine and techniques. Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most common chronic diseases found in the 21st century. Data of the Pasir Panjang Public Health Center in 2017 showed that the incidence of Diabetes Mellitus that did not depend on insulin in the inpatient room was 91 people, with 10 dead patients. The amount is based on age, from 25 to 44 years, 1 man and 8 women; age 45-64 years, 22 men and 40 women; age over 65 years, 8 male and 11 female. The prevalence of DM-dependent non-insulin events with gangrene in Pasir Panjang Health Center in 2013 was 1 woman with age 54 years. In 2015 there were an increase of 8 people with the age of 45 - 64 years, with the number of men as many as 3 people. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and the quality of life of people with Type 2 diabetes mellitus in ethnic Timor, at the Pasir Panjang Public Health Center, Kupang City. This research utilized cross sectional approach. The sample was Type 2 DM sufferers and their families, with a sample size of 52, which was selected by accidental sampling technique. Categorical data that have been collected are analyzed descriptively in the form of frequencies and percentages and are presented in tabular form. Then the hypothesis test was performed using the Chi-Square test. Chi-square test results showed a p-value of 0.045 so it was concluded that there was a relationship between family support and the quality of life of people with Type 2 DM in Pasir Panjang Public Health Center, Kupang City. Abstract

Salmonella typhi s a gram-negative bacteria in the form of coccus, is motile and pathogenic, which can cause a salmonellosis (typhoid fever). Treatment of thiophid fever generally uses paracetamol and chloramphenicol. The development of traditional medicine, such as earthworms and turmeric, which is believed to cure typhoid fever. This study aims to determine the activity of a combination of extracts of earthworm and turmeric on the growth of Salmonella typhi. This study applied an experimental laboratory method. The treatment group consisted of a combination of earthworm extract and turmeric rhizome extract at various concentrations (40%: 60%; 50%: 50%; 60%: 40%), solely earthworm extract, solely turmeric rhizome extract and chloramphenicol 30 µg as a control positive. Earthworm extract and turmeric rhizome extract were prepared using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Antibacterial activity test was performed in vitro using disk diffusion method against Salmonella typhi for 24 hours incubated at 37˚C and then the inhibitory zone (mm) was measured. The inhibitory zone was further analyzed using One Way ANOVA statistical analysis. The results showed that turmeric rhizome single extract better combination of earthworm extract and turmeric rhizome extract could inhibit Salmonella typhi growth optimally at a concentration of 50%: 50% with inhibitory value of 11.1 mm which was closer to the value of inhibition positive control ( 21.93 mm) compared with the other groups (p = 0.000). Abstract

Aflatoxin is a secondary metabolite of the fungus Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus, the toxin is able to cause health problems in humans and animals that suffer sympthom of aflatoxin called mycotoxicosis. Both types of fungus can survive at optimally temperature of 36-38oC and moisture above 85%. Aspergillus species may contaminated some foods such as wheat, rice, corn, beans, chilies, and spices. Aflatoxin have six types, namely Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2, M1 and M2. AFB1 is the most toxic among the six types of aflatoxin, it’s induce cancer by affecting Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) genetic code. The aim of this research was to analyze the types and levels of aflatoxin especially spices that provided in the traditional market and supermarkets in Jember area. This research applied with experimental analytic. The population was spices that belong in all of traditional markets and supermarkets in Jember area. The sample was certain spices (onion, turmeric, pepper) in the 3 traditional markets and 3 supermarkets selected by purposive sampling techniques. This research was done at Central Laboratory Agro Industry Bogor on July to September 2019. The variable of this research was aflatoxin contamination inside of spices. Aflatoxin analytic performed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments. The results of this research showed that found some of samples that has been analyzed, the samples of pepper (C4) was taken in Supermarket ‘X’ has the highest contaminated aflatoxin B1 was 45,35 ppb and aflatoxin G1 was 50,74 ppb. Therefore, its recommended for Supermarket is to increased monitoring of temperature and humidity, especially at the storage of spices.
