Abstract

The high prevalence of current HIV/AIDS problems is not only a health problem of infectious disease, but has become a very widespread public health problem, one of the high risk groups is Female Sex Workers. The number of female sex workers who counsel and test HIV in Rawasari Health Center is still low that is 27.67%. This research was quantitative research with cross sectional design, using systematic random sampling technique with sample size of 77 female sex workers. Data were collected using questionnaire, then analyzed using Chi square test. The result showed that there was significant correlation between knowledge (p-value = 0.000), attitude (p-value = 0.000) and the role of health officer (p-value = 0.013) with the behavior of woman prostitutes in conducting HIV counseling and testing. It is hoped that health officers at Rawasari will improve direct and periodic counseling through information media, encourage and encourage female sex workers to conduct HIV counseling and testing. Abstract

The role of parents is indispensable in guiding, understanding, reminding and providing facilities to children in order to maintain their oral hygiene. The mother guiding model aims to change the knowledge, attitudes and skills of mother in decreasing toddler index debris. The purpose of this study was to analyze the model of guiding in mothers to decrease toddler plaque index. The type of research was quasi-experimental analysis. The research target was all mothers of toddlers who had children aged 3-5 years. Data collection method used questionnaires and oral hygiene status sheets. Analysis data technique used Mcnemar statistical test. The results showed a significant difference between maternal knowledge before and after guiding. There were significant differences between maternal attitudes before and after guiding. There were significant differences between mother's brushingtooth skills before and after guiding. There is a difference in mean of debris index for toddlers between before and after mother guiding. Keywords: Debris index, Toddler, Mother guiding

Abstract

Background: It is estimated that 50% of puerperal mortality occur within the first 24 hours. At this time the involution process occured. Involutionary disorders cause complications which is the leading cause of maternal mortality. Most of postpartum women do not obtain exercise guidance after giving birth. They are only advised to do simple mobilization without planned guidance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of early exercise against uterine involution (fundus and lochea). Methods: The research used quasi experimental (pre-post test non equivalent control group design). It was conducted from January to June 2019. The samples were 40 respondents spontaneous primiparous postpartum mother. The study was started by 1) divided the samples into control group and treatment group, 2) measured the fundus and lochea, 3) provided early exercise on treatment group, 4) re-measured fundus and lochea in both groups, 5) analyzed the effectiveness of early exercise to fundus and lochea expenditure decrease. The data analysis used Mann Whitney with α = 0.05. Results: The results showed p-value of 0.000 (fundus) and 0.001 (lochea). Conclusion: Early exercise is effective in accelerating decrease in fundus and lochea expenditure as it helps blood circulation to the uterine, which causes the uterus to contract well. Good contractions help narrowing of open blood vessels so that bleeding does not occur, decreases in uterine fundus and lochea expendment take place more rapidly. Abstract

The pummelo orange may be potential as an anti-breast cancer agent because it contains lycopene compounds. Lycopene works by suppressing cell proliferation or multiplication. In breast cancer patients, cell multiplication occurs very rapidly. Lycopene is also able to slow down or even prevent the oxidation process of other molecules and eliminate free radicals in the body that can cause cell damage. Free radicals can bind to DNA, protein, and lipid which will damage their physiological functions, which in turn can lead to the development of breast cancer. Lycopene is a very effective free radical eliminator. Through these two mechanisms, suppressing cell multiplication and eliminating free radicals, lycopene might be used as a breast cancer therapy. The cytotoxic activity test of pummelo citrus fruit extract was carried out using the MTT method on MCF-7 cells. The pummelo citrus fruit was extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol as a solvent. Breast cancer cell cultures (MCF-7 cells) were transferred as many as 1x104 cells/well in culture media which consisting of FBS, penicillin-streptomycin, amphotericin-B and RPMI 1640 into 96-well plates and incubated in a 5% CO2 incubator overnight. Furthermore, the test sample was given with a series of levels and made replications three times (triple), then incubated again overnight. On the third day, we added MTT reagent, and after 4 hours the formazan crystals were formed in the living cells. Furthermore, a SDS stopper was added to stop the MTT reaction. Then, the absorbance reading was carried out using an ELISA reader at a wavelength of 595 nm and continued to determine the value of IC50. The results showed that the IC50 value of pummelo orange extract was 234 µg/µL. It showed that pummelo orange extract had potential as an anti-breast cancer agent. This study could contribute to the development of breast cancer drugs. Pummelo fruit extract which is selective against cancer cells can be the therapy of choice in the treatment of breast cancer patients whose prevalence is high in Indonesia. Abstract

The use of chemical insecticides in the long term and high frequency will suppress insects (mosquitoes) and vectors to be tolerant until resistant. Reports of resistance from various species of mosquitoes found in multiple countries even occur in Indonesia in Surabaya. This study aimed to analyze the effect of granules bioinsecticides on the mixture of srikaya seeds (A. squamosa) and betel leaf (P. beetle) on the histopathology of mice (M. musculus) using true-experimental (the post-test only group design). Sample taken by simple random sampling and grouped into each control group and the treatment group totaling 25 mice. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression test. The results showed an overall p-value >0.05, meaning that there was no bioinsecticide effect of a mixture of betel leaf granules (Piper beetle) and srikaya seeds (Annona squamosa) on the histopathology of the kidney of mice (Mus musculus). Required safety testing of target animals in addition to mice and a preliminary examination is needed before the research is conducted so that the results are valid Keywords: bioinsecticide; histopatology; Mus musculus
