The problem of teacher competence is still often encountered, teachers are not ready to apply innovative teaching methods and tend to return to lecture-based learning patterns, teacher qualification and certification improvement programs have no direct impact on improving student achievement, teachers are trapped in bureaucratic thinking to implement the curriculum, encouragement and willingness to learn and develop are not prioritized by teachers. As a result, when learning takes place some students are daydreaming, students with high intellectual abilities tend to be passive, while students with low intellectual abilities tend to be active and even disruptive which causes them to learn less smoothly, the learning process will again focus on the teacher who must be a guide, and when the teacher explains the material they feel they are often seen busy themselves, ignorant and some even fall asleep. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition and role of teacher competence in the learning process of economic subjects at MA Muhammadiyah Kadudampit, Sukabumi, West Java. The research conducted was qualitative research with a case study design. Data validity was done by triangulating data sources and triangulating methods. Data analysis used by researchers is an interactive model including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding data results. Based on the results of observations of teacher competence at MA Muhammadiyah Kadudampit, Sukabumi, West Java has not fully met the four competencies that a teacher must have, including: pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competencies.

This research aims to find out why South Sumatra Province can avoid broad and sharp political conflicts, even though the people of South Sumatra are known for their hard character. Political conflicts in the 2019 simultaneous elections occurred in the districts of Empat Lawang, Musi Rawas, North Musi Rawas, Banyuasin, and East OKU. The potential for high conflict is rioting, as for example happened in Empat Lawang. However, even though there was a riot at the time, it only lasted for a short time, was well controlled, and caused no casualties. This is also the case with other political conflicts, so that it actually places this area as a zero conflict area. This is interesting, considering that the people in this area have a strong character. The research method used is qualitative. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and FGDs. The findings of this study show that the people of South Sumatra are people whose political culture is rational, pragmatic, patriarchal. In conclusion, the political culture is able to avoid South Sumatra from high political conflict.

Despite the status of Sailors or Seamen Working as Members of Ships (Seafarers) as a group it seems to have been placed vaguely among the legal terms used in the recent discourse on international labor migration and circulation which is in stark contrast to the conceptual location of Seafarers especially for those working in denationalized international maritime space. The framework in this study outlines material regarding the flow of writing in describing, analyzing, elaborating, and finding answers to legal issues regarding the urgency of changing the status of Indonesian seamen from Migrant Workers to Seafarers with permanent legal force which in other words can be interpreted as the influence of good corporate governance on the welfare of the Seafarer. Tamanan Ward is a relic building of the Majapahit kingdom era located in the Keraton Yogyakarta area. The existence of Tamanan Ward is supported by physical evidence, such as the sengkalan in the form of Bethara Gana or Ganesha found at the entrance of the ward and resembles Kori Agung. The Tamanan Ward building is historical evidence of cultural acculturation and depiction of royal heritage from time to time as shown by its ornaments. The ornaments in this building include: Praban motif ornaments and Putri Merong motif ornaments which are referred to as prohibited ornaments (awisan). The awisan ornament is a manifestation of the Sultan's power to organize and build palace buildings that have a broad philosophical meaning. Based on this, the two ornaments that decorate the palace buildings have aesthetic and semiotic functions as a marker. This research aims to explain the meaning and philosophy attached to awisan ornaments in Tamanan Ward through a semiotic approach. The research method used was descriptive qualitative method with data collection technique in the form of literature study through relevant books and journals. The results of this study indicated that, first, the building ornaments of Tamanan Ward were influenced by the visual identity that was present due to the power of the Sultan as King, Second, the analysis of the meaning and function of awisan ornaments can be described using a semiotic approach. Third, the Keraton Yogyakarta building is one of Indonesia's cultural assets and its existence needs to be maintained and preserved.

Urban regions face numerous challenges in implementing regional autonomy. The smart city concept has been implemented by cities in various countries to tackle these issues. This article aims to comprehend and assess the political laws selected by the Indonesian government to address the challenges of implementing regional autonomy in urban areas using smart city concepts and indicators. The research method employed was normative research through a statutory regulations approach, in addition to a conceptual approach. The research material was secondary data comprising primary legal materials as well as secondary legal materials amassed via online and offline research at the library. The data was then analyzed in a descriptive manner. The analysis results demonstrate that numerous Indonesian cities have introduced smart city indicators. However, these indicators lack a legal foundation referencing smart city standards. The absence of specific regulations for smart cities in Indonesia has resulted in unstructured and immeasurable implementation. In Indonesia, the closest legal regulations or policies to the concept of a smart city are those outlined in Government Regulation Number 38 of 2017 concerning Innovation. Going forward, it is necessary to establish legal guidelines that contain specific standards for smart cities, from inception to implementation, in order to enhance regional autonomy in urban areas.

Indonesia's waste management capabilities are still weak. The majority of waste is still handled by collecting-transporting-disposing and even many are still not handled. This has caused many landfills to experience over capacity, including those in Sidoarjo Regency. However, the process of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R) waste is also being carried out by the people of Sidoarjo Regency. Waste banks apply these principles and contribute significantly to reducing waste entering the landfill. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to improve the performance of waste banks, for example through training on the use of digital waste bank applications. The process of innovation diffusion is important so that work processes become more efficient and data can be stored properly. However, there are many obstacles in diffusing these innovations. This study aims to examine the diffusion innovation of digital application in supporting waste management in Sidoarjo Regency. Authors adopt qualitative research methods. The result shows that the innovation diffusion process encountered quite a lot of obstacles both from the change agent and from the client, in this case the waste bank administrator. Therefore, the objectives of the innovation diffusion have not been achieved.

As one of the world's largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, Indonesia has set a target for zero carbon emissions by 2060. However, these targets and the derived efforts have not been accompanied by adequate understanding among the Indonesian populace. This research aims to comprehend and analyze the concept of zero carbon emissions in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative approach with content analysis methodology, the study discovered that one of the causes for this lack of understanding is the ineffective messaging concerning 'zero carbon emissions' in Indonesia. The symbolic constructs created do not align with the intended messages, in line with the recommendations for effective environmental communication concepts, encompassing aspects such as message types, functions, word choices, genres, relevance, and consistency. This research implies an enhancement in public awareness regarding the concept of zero carbon emissions in Indonesia. The outcomes of this study can also provide insights to the government and environmental organizations to formulate more effective policies in communicating the message of 'zero carbon emissions.' By implementing these recommendations, environmental communication regarding the concept of zero carbon emissions in Indonesia can become more effective, motivating individuals to actively participate in efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

Effective communication regarding the risks associated with electronic cigarettes is a crucial part of efforts to control their usage, and incorporating elements of fear is an effective method to achieve proper regulation. This research, utilizing content analysis methodology, examined three online news articles from Indonesian news portals: Kompas.com, IDNTimes.com, and Detik.com. The study aimed to describe how online news conveys the dangers of using electronic cigarettes using the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM). The research method employed was content analysis. EPPM explains how people manage the fear evoked by threat messages. There are two key factors that can explain how individuals respond to fear messages. The first factor is the perception of threat, consisting of the severity and vulnerability to the threat. The second factor is the perception of efficacy, consisting of response efficacy and self-efficacy. The research findings indicate that online news coverage prioritizes the perception of threat. Conversely, the aspect of efficacy perception still needs to be applied in reporting the dangers of electronic cigarettes. These results are also influenced by ethical codes, journalistic principles, and cultural influences.
