Abstract

As a campus that has a maritime mission, Madura State Polytechnic has made a master plan for campus development by building a shipyard. This is also supported by the campus located on the beach. In preparing the shipyard, facilities are very important, so a careful planning is needed in doing the layout. In this paper, we will propose a layout process based on the production flow pattern of shipbuilding, comparison with the layout design using the CORELAP algorithm method, by calculating the percentage value of material handling and planning tools and facilities for the POLTERA shipyard. The facility layout planning obtained new and repaired building types with an area of ??5.16 hectares and a layout design with an L layout production flow pattern. The design had a material handling percentage value of 21.62%.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago country which consist of several large islands and thousands of small islands. According to the latest data, a total of 17.504 islands exist in Indonesian, which 6.000 are inhabited islands. Small islands with an area of ??less than 2.000 m2 do not have sufficient clean water sources or even none at all. Many solutions have been developed regarding the clean water crisis, which one is to provide a distilling seawater into clean water or what the local government calls the desalination system. However, it did not work effectively because the cost of equipments maintenance was quite expensive. In this study, a water transportation for distributing portable desalination machines or systems and other logistical needs between island is designed. Due to the lack of adequate docks and loading facilities on many islands, the researchers took the initiative to design a Hovercraft, an Amphibious Ship to simplify the distribution and loading process on land. The design process is carried out using the sister ship method by considering the size of the object to be distributed so that the length = 13.2 m, Width = 6.7 m, Aluminum material, with a total weight = 19 tons, Speed ??= 50 knots, and the design refers to the Carrier type of Hovercraft. Based on these data, the total lifting capacity is 1909.44 HP and the thrust is 695.61 HP.

Abstract

Cargo Ship Planning is very important for sea transport. One of the important factors in ship planning is the determination of the anchor and mooring system which functions as a tool to limit the motion of the ship when it is anchored outside the port, so that the ship remains in its position even though it is under pressure from sea currents, wind and waves.. The formulation of the problem in this study is the number of anchors and the motor power of the anchor system on a cargo ship based on the BKI class. The purpose of this study is to determine the number of anchors and the motor power of the anchor system on a cargo ship based on the BKI class. The research method of anchor system analysis was carried out by using a literature study method based on BKI class 2014 volume II. The conclusion of this research is knowing the number of anchors as much as 2 pieces, the length of the anchor chain with the anchor chain length of 522.5 m, the diameter of the anchor chain is 60 mm, and the motor power of the windlass is 1.7 HP. While the length of the mooring rope along the 280 m is 4 pieces

Abstract

Nowadays, there are a lot of new breakthroughs in material technology. One of the them is the use of Sandwich panel Material. Sandwich panel is a material that consist of two steel plates separated by a core part. On its application on ship, Sandwich panel will get repetitive force from the outside. This research will identify multiple damages with vibration characteristic approach with the experimental method and finite element analysis. Effect of defect on Sandwich Panel core material based on the experimental result is a decrease in natural frequency means of 1.64 percent.

Abstract

Bioconversion has indeed begun to be developed a lot recently. Through this process, the nutrient content in organic waste can be formed into other forms of nutrients, namely biomass with the help of insect larvae, one of which is the insect larvae of Hermetia illucens / Black Soldier Fly (BSF). Larvae of this type are often used as bioconversion agents and are better known as "maggots". One example of its use is in the form of maggot pellets. From the results of the survey conducted, the tools used to make maggot pellets are still simple so that they produce pellets that are not optimal. The redesign of this maggot pellet molding machine will apply a single motor system for dual drives, namely the extruder shaft and the cutter shaft. The working mechanism of the maggot pellet molding machine is that when the machine is turned on, the screw shaft in the barrel will rotate according to the motor rotation and the dough from the feed hopper drops down into the barrel for processing. The dough that has been processed is then removed through the mold.
