Abstract

The Automatic Case Packer machine at CP2 of PT BG experiences the highest downtime, totaling 192.2 hours per year, which disrupts the smooth production of flour packaging. This study aims to propose an optimal preventive maintenance schedule using the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) approach. The methods applied include critical component identification through Pareto diagrams, analysis of failure and repair time distributions using least-square curve fitting and the Anderson-Darling test, as well as parameter estimation with the Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) method. The results indicate that the Turn Table component has an MTBF of 251.5 hours and an MTTR of 2.33 hours, while the Pick & Place component has an MTBF of 354.6 hours and an MTTR of 4.04 hours. The availability of each component is 99% for the Turn Table and 98.9% for the Pick & Place. Using the current company preventive maintenance schedule (576 hours), the reliability is only 12.3% for the Turn Table and 18% for the Pick & Place. Therefore, the proposed preventive maintenance intervals are every 240 hours for the Turn Table and every 336 hours for the Pick & Place, which are expected to improve machine reliability and prevent sudden failures. Abstract

Product quality in the automotive manufacturing industry greatly affects customer trust and production efficiency. This research was conducted at an automotive manufacturing company with the aim of analyzing the quality control of the Join Brake Rod KTMY part using the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method. The three types of defects analyzed were Non-Central Hole, Blank Minus, and Scratched Material. Data collection involved direct observation, production documentation, and interviews with relevant personnel. The data was analyzed using the Seven Tools of quality, including check sheets, Pareto diagrams, control charts (P-charts), and fishbone diagrams. The results showed that the Non-Central Hole defect was the most dominant, accounting for 56% of total defects from January to December 2024. Control charts indicated several data points outside the control limits, suggesting that the production process was not fully stable. The main causes of defects were found to be related to human, machine, method, material, and environmental factors. Improvement proposals focused on operator training, jig and die adjustment, and raw material inspection. In conclusion, the SPC method is effective in statistically monitoring and controlling product quality in automotive manufacturing. Abstract

In the two-wheeled automotive manufacturing industry, product quality has a significant influence on customer confidence as well as production efficiency. Therefore, this research was carried out to apply the Seven Tools method to provide effective solutions in quality control, so that the production process can run smoothly and meet the set quality standards. This study aims to analyze the quality control of KWBF arm rear brake products using the Seven Tools method. The three types of defects found are scratch material, rust, and blank minus. The main causes of such defects include human, machine, method, material, and environmental factors. As an improvement effort, the researcher suggests regular training for machine operators, regular machine maintenance, selection of raw materials before production, and monitoring of environmental conditions during the production process. The application of the Seven Tools method has been proven to help companies systematically detect defects and provide more targeted repair solutions to improve product quality. Abstract

Perum DEF faces a performance imbalance, where its revenue exceeded the target but was accompanied by a significant decline in net profit and operating cash flow. A comprehensive evaluation integrating the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is proposed as a solution to identify the root causes and establish priorities. This study aims to evaluate the company's performance and determine the priority weights for each BSC perspective to formulate measurable recommendations. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, collecting quantitative data from 2024 and qualitative data through interviews, analysed via the four BSC perspectives and AHP weighting. The results of the Balanced Scorecard research reveal a bottleneck in the downstream processing of processed wood, which only achieved 68.9% of its target, as the root cause of margin erosion and the liquidity crisis. Meanwhile, the results of the Analytical Hierarchy Process weightingestablished the internal business process perspective as the highest strategic priority (46.9%), followed by the financial perspective (31.5%) as a manifestation of the crisis that needs to be addressed immediately. The study concludes that restoring financial performance depends on resolving operational inefficiencies in the downstream process. Therefore, the primary recommendation for the company is to immediately focus resources on increasing plant utilization, optimizing the supply chain, and accelerating operational cash conversion. Abstract

Measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of production machines is necessary to assess the company's operational performance and identify aspects that need improvement. PT LMN faces machine performance instability due to increasing downtime. This study aims to analyze machine effectiveness during the March–September 2025 period and formulate performance improvement recommendations. The methods used are Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Overall Resource Effectiveness, and FMEA to determine the root causes of the problems. . Abstract

The high operational demands in the mining industry have the potential to increase work fatigue and occupational stress, which may adversely affect employee productivity and workplace safety. This study aimed to analyze the levels of work fatigue and occupational stress among non-organic employees at PT.U using the Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory (SOFI) and the Survey Diagnostic Stress (SDS) methods. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed with a total sampling technique involving 18 respondents. Primary data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaire distribution, and subsequently analyzed using the SOFI and SDS methods. The results indicated that the average work fatigue score was 4.61, while the average occupational stress score was 14, both of which were classified as moderate. Career development emerged as the primary contributor to occupational stress. These findings suggest that the integrated application of SOFI and SDS provides a comprehensive basis for developing effective workload management strategies to enhance productivity, occupational health, and workplace safety.
