Khatulistiwa Nursing Journal is a peer-reviewed Indonesian journal dedicated to all nursing areas published by The School of Nursing and Graduate School of Nursing at STIKES Yarsi Pontianak. The aim of this journal is to contribute to the growing field of nursing practice and provide a platform for researchers, physicians and healthcare professionals. This journal presents contemporary research on the issue such as basic research in nursing, management nursing, emergency and critical nursing, medical surgical nursing, mental health nursing, maternity nursing, pediatric nursing, gerontological nursing, community nursing and family nursing education nursing. Khatulistiwa nursing journal welcomes original research publications that employ the quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approach as well as scholarly works on advanced practice nursing. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Gizi buruk merupakan masalah yang sering terjadi pada anak. Apabila tidak ditangani, maka akan berdampak terhadap proses tumbuh kembang anak. Penyebab dari gizi buruk adalah hal yang harus digali untuk mencari akar masalahnya, salah satu penyebabnya adalah perilaku makan selektif. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara perilaku makan selektif dengan status gizi pada anak prasekolah. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di PAUD kecamatan Tabukan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah PAUD di Kec. Tabukam sebanyak 13 PAUD dengan 409 murid, Sampel adalah orang tua/wali murid Sebanyak 137 responden, pemilihan sampel menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling yang dilakukan pengundian pada 13 PAUD yang berada di kecamatan Tabukan didapatkan 2 sekolah yaitu PAUD Nusa Indah dan PAUD Kuncup Mekar. Pengumpulan data menggunakan 2 instrumen penelitian yaitu kuesioner Childern’s Eating Behavior Questionnaire dan pengukuran antrompometri. Hasil: Hasil analisa dengan (sperman rank) mendapati bahwa terdapat hubungan dengan nilai p=0,000 (p<0,05) dengan Correlation Coefficient didapatkan nilai 0.799 yang berarti arah hubungan pada penelitian ini “kuat”, hasil Probability 70,15% anak yang masuk kedalam kategori tidak selektif berpeluang masuk ke dalam kategori gizi baik dan 27,14% anak yang masuk kedalam kategori selektif berpeluang masuk kedalam kategori gizi buruk. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara perilaku makan selektif dengan status gizi pada anak prasekolah.

Abstract

Background: Therapeutic communication is a mandatory skill for nurses. This study examines the microlearning method "NurseTheraCom," a web platform containing materials, quizzes, and videos designed to improve the competency of nursing students. Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of the NurseTheraCom micro-learning method on improving students' knowledge and therapeutic communication skills. Method: This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. The respondents in this study were nursing students from STIKes YARSI Pontianak, selected using purposive sampling technique. The inclusion criteria for respondents are active nursing students at STIKes YARSI Pontianak who have already taken the nursing communication course. A total of 60 nursing students participated in a microlearning intervention, with skills assessed thru questionnaires before and after the intervention and analyzed using a paired t-test. Results: There was a significant increase in knowledge (high category from 23.3% to 81.67%) and skills (high category from 15.0% to 78.33%). The average skill score increased from 20.00 to 32.67 (p=0.002). Conclusion: The NurseTheraCom microlearning method is effective in improving nursing students' knowledge and therapeutic communication skills, potentially serving as a tool for continuous training to enhance service quality.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Industri batu bata menghasilkan asap pembakaran yang mengandung zat berbahaya dan dapat mengganggu kesehatan pernapasan pekerja. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara paparan asap dan keluhan pernapasan dengan kapasitas paru pada pekerja industri batu bata di Kecamatan Kemangkon. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional yang dilaksanakan pada Juli 2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan pengukuran kapasitas paru menggunakan Peak Flow Meter. Hasil: penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar pekerja terpapar asap selama 5–8 jam per hari (79,2%), dengan mayoritas mengalami gangguan kapasitas paru berat (67,5%). Uji Chi-square menunjukkan bahwa lama paparan asap tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan kapasitas paru (p=0,895), sedangkan keluhan pernapasan seperti batuk, sesak napas, nyeri dada, dan dahak berlebih berhubungan signifikan dengan penurunan kapasitas paru (p<0,05). Kesimpulan: bahwa keluhan pernapasan memiliki hubungan bermakna dengan kapasitas paru pekerja batu bata, sementara lama paparan asap tidak berpengaruh signifikan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kasus kecelakaan lalu lintas menjadi salah satu permasalahan di dunia dengan angka kematian yang tinggi. Tingginya angka kematian korban kecelakaan lalu lintas berkaitan dengan lambatnya dan rendahnya kualitas pertolongan pertama yang dilakukan oleh penolong pertama. Oleh karena itu diperlukan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan penolong pertama dalam melakukan penanganan awal. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan learning management system First Aid dengan pendekatan mnemonic SAMBAS yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan. Metode: merupakan penelitian quasy experiment dengan pendekatan pretest-posttest without control group dengan kuota sampling. Hasil: Hasil uji statistik dengan uji wilcoxon test didapatkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) pada pengetahuan maupun keterampilan dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama pada kasus kecelakaan dengan learning management system First Aid. Kesimpulan: Learning management system First Aid dapat dengan mnemonic SAMBAS dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama pada kasus kecelakaan.

Abstract

Background: Children under two years old are in a golden age, a time of rapid development. Efforts to achieve optimal development must be balanced with optimal growth and developmental stimulation. However, many mothers still do not know how to stimulate growth and development in children. The role of a mother in providing stimulation to children has a significant influence, so it’s very importand to have a good knownledge to encourage children growth optimally. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between maternal knowledge about growth and development with the developmental status of children under two years old. Method: The study design used a cross-sectional. The study was conducted at the Banjar Serasan Community Health Center with a sample of 77 mothers who had children under two years old selected accidental sampling with the inclusion criteria of this study, namely with the inclusion criteria of mothers who had children aged 0-24 months, mothers who attended posyandu activities and were willing to be respondents, while the exclusion criteria were mothers with children with special needs. Data collection used research instruments consisting of a maternal knowledge questionnaire and KPSP. Result: The results of statistical tests using the Spearman Rank test showed that there was a positive relationship between maternal knowledge about growth and development stimulation and the development of children under two years of age with a p value of 0.010 (p<0.05) and a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.292. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and the development of children under two years old.
