Abstract

Waste from processing salted fish in Batu Be Lubang Village, Pangkalan Baru District, Central Bangka Regency, can be dried into fish bran as raw material for aquaculture fish feed and other animal feed. The bran has economic value, and can be sold for IDR 4,000/kg. The purpose of Community Service (PkM) activities is to help traditional fishermen get a side business from processing fish waste into fish bran/flour with high economic value. The implementation of PkM is participatory or involves the community in the PkM stage which is focused on two areas, namely socialization and implementation of activities. The stages of processing fish waste as bran include: Boiling fish, taking fish stew waste sediment, drying and winnowing.

Abstract

Aquaculture is a food production sector that is developing quite rapidly in the world with a projection that production will double in the next 15-20 years. However, to run a cultivation system, you must have a large area of ​​land and large capital. The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on all aspects of people's lives. One of the aspects most affected by the pandemic is the economy, namely the occurrence of mass layoffs. Therefore, it is necessary to make alternative efforts that can help increase people's income during a pandemic, with a low risk of failure, and easy to implement as a side business during a pandemic. Budikdamber or also known as fish farming in buckets, can be an alternative business that can be done to maintain food security and increase income during a pandemic. Budikdamber is a form of fish farming that is inexpensive and easy to implement. The Budikdamber extension activity is one way to educate the community around Bolok Village, West Kupang, NTT. This PkM program was carried out with the output of the Budikdamber extension activity on November 9, 2020, attended by 56 participants from Bolok Village, West Kupang District, Kab. Kupang. The output of this program is that the people of Bolok Village are more educated about the easy and inexpensive practice of catfish farming in order to maintain independent food security in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and at the same time become an alternative solution for people's income, because they do not use large land and can take advantage of the yard. .

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the most valuable aquaculture commodities to be developed. The content of alginate, carrageenan and agar makes seaweed the main ingredient in the manufacture of foodstuffs, beauty and other industries. In its development, seaweed processing is growing, especially in the culinary field. Seaweed meatballs are made from a mixture of meat and seaweed, without flavoring and food coloring, so they have a high nutritional content and are safe for consumption. Training on making seaweed meatballs was deemed necessary at Warna Oesapa Beach to process the abundant seaweed production in NTT. The training is carried out in stages starting from the preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. The training was held at Color Oesapa Beach, Oesapa Village, Kupang City and was attended by 30 participants. The manufacture of products is carried out according to a predetermined recipe. The result of the training on making seaweed meatballs is that people in Oesapa Village are expected to be able to take advantage of the seaweed harvest so that they can improve their welfare and independence in entrepreneurship. This activity has never been carried out before, so it received a good response from the residents and the village head at Color Oesapa Beach. The training activities for making seaweed meatballs were finally able to be applied properly so that they were able to help the family's economic condition and increase the value of the welfare of the community at Warna Oesapa Beach.

Abstract

Seaweed is a fishery commodity that has been widely processed into consumption and non-consumption products. Tablolong Village is located in Kupang Regency which is one of the locations for Eucheuma sp. The Covid-19 pandemic has had the effect of decreasing the price of seaweed, thus affecting the income of people who work as seaweed cultivators. The repeated use of seeds also causes the quality of the seaweed to decrease which in turn lowers the selling price of the seaweed. This activity aims to increase the selling price of seaweed through processing seaweed into seaweed lunkhead and seaweed noodles for the people of Tablolong Village, West Kupang, NTT. This community service was carried out in October – December 2021 through outreach activities and training on making seaweed lunkhead and seaweed noodles located in Tablolong Village, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency, NTT. The socialization and training activities on making seaweed lunkhead and seaweed noodles were carried out on October 19, 2021. The activity began with the provision of material on seaweed and processed seaweed which was then continued with the practice of making seaweed lunkhead and seaweed noodles by women. activity participants. The participants of the activity seemed enthusiastic about participating in the activity and were able to directly make the processed seaweed products. The activity participants also innovated to make pastries with a mixture of seaweed so that they could produce delicious and nutritious snacks. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the price of seaweed can be increased again through processing seaweed into various consumption products so that it can open up new business opportunities for the Tablolong Village community.

Abstract

Milkfish (Chanos chanos) is a leading fish commodity in Brebes Regency. The sustainable development of milkfish requires a supportive business ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to determine the business ecosystem of milkfish enlargement business in Grinting Village, Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency. Research data collection was carried out in March-April 2022 in Grinting Village, Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency. This research method uses an active survey with purposive sampling. Business ecosystem data is obtained directly through interviews with groups of fish farmers using a questionnaire. The results of the business process analysis show that the supply of milkfish nener in Grinting village comes from Bali. There is 1 member of the group who specializes in nursing efforts to ensure the supply of nener for rearing. The cultivation process generally applies the traditional system which is carried out for 4-6 months. The production output is milkfish consumption with the size of 6-7 fish/Kg and 1-2 fish/Kg. The market or customer for milkfish consumption is still within the scope of the Central Java region. Milkfish cultivators have built a business ecosystem through the application of SIPOC in a close system in a sustainable aquaculture business.

Abstract

The waters of Kupang Bay have abundant fish potential. Some of the fishing gear operating in Kupang Bay which are classified as less environmentally friendly are the bagan fishing gear. To address these problems in an effort to preserve fish resources, it is necessary to pay attention to aspects of fishing technology used in accordance with responsible fisheries management (Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries/CCRF). Seeing that the fishing technology applied by the community is still traditional, so it is necessary to find other alternatives to improve fishing technology and methods so that the fish caught are only suitable target fish, it is necessary to study the level of friendliness of some fishing gear. Abstract

Bangka Belitung Islands is a province that has great potential in the development of the fisheries sector, especially the aquaculture of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). One of the companies engaged in fishery at the stage of growing vaname shrimp is PT. Bangka Belitung Maritime Prosperity. In this regard, efforts must be made to develop the cultivation business. One of them is through partnership cooperation. The purpose of this thesis research is to describe the form of business partnership pattern between PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Sejahtera with partners who join, examine the strengths and weaknesses in the implementation of the partnership and analyze the efforts made by PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Prosperous in maintaining partnership relations. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach and data collection techniques using documentation, observation and interviews. Sampling through purposive sampling technique that begins with the general manager of PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Sejahtera then turned to four other partners. The results showed that there are three types of partnership patterns that exist in PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Sejahtera, namely the sub-contract partnership pattern, the general trade partnership pattern and the plasma core partnership pattern. This partnership pattern resulted from a partnership between PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Sejahtera with five partnering companies/groups. The advantages of implementing a vaname shrimp enlargement business partnership at PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Sejahtera is the provision of consultation and guidance on cultivation, providing input for production facilities, obtaining technical knowledge, guaranteeing market certainty, strengthening the company's brand image and opening opportunities to support the prospect of sustainable agribusiness partnerships in the fisheries sector. While the weaknesses in the implementation of this partnership are the buying and selling price determined by the partner company, the absence of a written contract agreement between the core company and the partner company, the delivery process of shrimp fry that is not good, and late payments made by partner companies. Efforts made by PT. Bangka Belitung Maritim Sejahtera in maintaining partnership relationships are conducting interactive communication with partner companies, building a good cooperation system, providing handling of problems that occur, holding the principle of mutual trust, supporting partner companies in business development, and updating information through group chat applications and the company website. .

Abstract

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic has become a scourge for the community and several Indonesian sectors, including the fisheries sector. The rapid spread of COVID-19 prompted the government to issue regulations requiring people to carry out large-scale social restrictions. This policy causes community activities and aquaculture production to decrease, consumption of freshwater fish. This study aims to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the welfare level of freshwater fish cultivators in Toboali District, and examine the efforts made by freshwater fish cultivators in Toboali District to maintain their business during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a survey method conducted on several freshwater fish cultivators in Toboali District with the criteria that the cultivators have been cultivating freshwater fish for 2 years and only do the enlargement. The data were analyzed using a descriptive approach. Based on the results of research that the Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on decreasing household income, increasing household spending, and decreasing the quality of education for household members. The declining income of farmers was due to the closed culinary business and the low selling price of fish. The household expenditure of fish cultivators consuming freshwater in a month during the COVID-19 pandemic increased because farmers had to pay bank loan installments. The declining quality of education occurs due to several factors from online learning and children who help work. Various efforts made by freshwater fish cultivators to maintain their business during the COVID-19 pandemic are family members coming to work, reducing the amount of production, reducing household expenses, looking for alternative jobs, utilizing social networks, using social media as a marketing medium, making bank loans. , and maintain fish quality.

Abstract

The sea cucumber with the Latin name Holothuria scabra has high economic value. This leads to overfishing in nature. One of the areas in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province that produces sand sea cucumbers is the Coastal Village of Batu Aer, Simpang Pesak District, East Belitung Regency. The problems faced by partners at this time are: 1) Partners do not have the skills to manage the sea cucumber cultivation business, because they still catch from nature; and 2) Partners do not have knowledge related to sea cucumber cultivation technology. This activity is expected to contribute, among others: 1) Helping traditional fishermen to get a side business from sea cucumber cultivation; and 2) Increasing the income of traditional fishermen from sea cucumber cultivation. The outputs resulting from this activity are: 1) Increasing the quantity and quality of cultivation products; 2) Improving community understanding and skills for sea cucumber cultivation; and 3) Increasing people's income.
