Abstract

The growing awareness of skin care has led to the rise of many sunscreen brands, especially in tropical countries like Indonesia, making it vital to understand factors affecting consumer purchase intent through digital marketing strategies. This research analyzes the influence of social media marketing on purchase intention, directly and through the mediating roles of brand image and brand trust. Using a quantitative method, an online questionnaire was distributed to 124 active TikTok users who had seen promotions of Unitary sunscreen on the platform. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS–SEM) with SmartPLS4 software. Results show that social media marketing via TikTok significantly strengthens brand image and brand trust in Unitary sunscreen. Creative, consistent, and lifestyle-relevant promotions help form positive perceptions and increase consumer confidence in product quality, driving purchase intent. The findings also reveal that direct calls to purchase are less effective without a strong brand image and brand trust. Therefore, digital promotion success depends on the brand’s ability to build emotional connections with consumers. This research contributes theoretically to digital marketing literature and offers practical implications for skincare industry players aiming to design more effective and targeted promotional strategies. It underscores the critical role of social media marketing in shaping consumer behavior through brand image and brand trust, especially in competitive markets like sunscreen products.

Abstract

Biometrics plays a crucial role in mitigating threats such as theft, duplication, and cracking by offering more secure verification methods. To enhance system reliability, researchers are increasingly focusing on multimodal biometrics that integrate facial recognition and fingerprint identification. The objective is to design a biometric verification system that leverages deep learning to automatically extract and analyze features from fingerprints, videos, and facial images. This system employs image scaling and data augmentation during preprocessing to preserve information and reduce computational time. To strengthen resistance against software attacks and varying poses, dynamic fusion techniques applied to hand-surface features are incorporated. Furthermore, multi-scale single-shot face detectors enable efficient face detection in unconstrained videos, while memory-efficient deep neural networks (DNNs) ensure optimal resource utilization. The study applies advanced approaches such as Transfer Learning and Hyperparameter Optimization algorithms, including Keras Tuner (Random Search), Genetic-CNN, Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO), and Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). Findings demonstrate that models integrated with hyperparameter optimization significantly outperform those without optimization. For facial recognition, CNN-GA achieved an impressive classification accuracy of 99.75%, while in fingerprint recognition, Keras Tuner recorded a peak accuracy of 99.09%. These outcomes highlight the effectiveness of combining deep learning with optimization strategies in building robust multimodal biometric systems. By integrating efficient preprocessing, adaptive algorithms, and optimized architectures, the proposed framework not only enhances accuracy but also ensures resilience against diverse attack vectors, positioning multimodal biometrics as a key solution for future secure authentication technologies.

Abstract

The structural planning of multi-story buildings is a crucial aspect of the construction process, as it determines the extent to which a building can withstand loads and function safely throughout its service life. A well-designed structure will be resilient against various types of loads, including static loads such as the self-weight of the structure, as well as dynamic loads such as occupant activities, wind forces, and seismic forces. Therefore, structural planning must be carried out comprehensively and in accordance with applicable standards and regulations to ensure that the building possesses adequate strength, stability, and safety under various loading conditions. This study focuses on the structural planning and analysis of a six-story hotel building located in Subang Regency, West Java. In this research, local soil conditions and several national standards such as SNI 2847:2019, SNI 1727:2020, and SNI 1726:2019 are carefully considered. Structural analysis is carried out using ETABS version 22.6.0 to model and evaluate how the columns, beams, floors, and foundations are able to withstand all types of loads. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for designing similar building structures and to contribute to improving the quality of multi-story building planning in Indonesia.

Abstract

Animal feed is a crucial factor influencing animal productivity and health. Ensuring the availability of high-quality feed, both in terms of nutritional content and physical appearance, is essential. One way to improve the physical quality of feed is through the shredding process using a shredding machine. This study aimed to test the performance of the shredding machine in processing two types of animal feed: sedge grass and banana stems. The research method used an experimental approach with three repetitions, including measuring effective capacity, cutting uniformity, and percentage of material loss. The test results showed that the machine's effective capacity was more optimal for sedge grass, at 38 kg/hour, compared to 34 kg/hour for banana stems. The cutting uniformity values were relatively similar, at 80.2% for sedge grass and 80.0% for banana stems. The percentage of material loss for sedge grass was 2.6%, significantly lower than for banana stems, which reached 9.2%. This indicates that the machine is more efficient when used on soft, fine-fibered materials. Compared to previous studies, the machine's capacity in this study was still significantly lower due to limited motor power (500 watts) and a simple blade design. However, the machine is capable of producing uniform cuts and quite good efficiency, especially on the grass material.
