Abstract

This study aims to conduct a literature review related to the ability of students' mathematical representation of learning styles. The method used in this research is SLR (Systematic Literature Review). Data collection is done by identifying or reviewing all articles that have the same research topic in this study. The articles used in this study were 20 journal articles obtained by the Google Scholar database using the Harzing's Publish or Perish application. The results of this study revealed that the students' mathematical representation ability on learning styles obtained information that found forms of learning styles in the articles collected that focused on learning abilities, learning styles, and their representation. Which in this case only takes on visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. The results of this study are expected to be beneficial for learning and be used as examples of the use of various mathematical concepts around us.

Abstract

This research was a development research which was aimed to producing a new product in the form of digital mathematical comic. Digital mathematical comic developed through four stages according to the 4D model procedure which are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire used to assess the feasibility of comics and student responses. The feasibility of comics was assessed by 2 lecturers as media experts and 2 teachers as material experts. The media expert’s give an average score of 70.50 out of a total average of 80.00 with very feasible category and the material expert’s give an average score of 48.00 out of a total average of 52.00 with very feasible category. Subsequently, a trial was conducted on 26 seventh grade students at SMPN 8 Mataram. According to the student response questionnaire an average score of 14.27 was obtained from a total average of 15.00 with very feasible category. So it can be concluded that digital mathematical comics are declared very feasible for use in math learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Connecting mathematical concepts is one of the abilities that every student should have. Being able to connect between concepts or principles in mathematics can help students in solving every math problem. This study aims to describe the type of errors in connecting mathematical concepts to the number pattern material made by students and to find out the factors of the error made. The subject of this study was students of class VIII at MTs Dakwah Islamiyah Putra Nurul Hakim Kediri in academic year 2018/2019. The type of this research is qualitative research with descriptive approach. Students’ error data obtained from the results of students’ written test and interviews. The results showed that the students made errors in connecting the concepts of number pattern material such as: 1) Errors in connecting topics which is in number pattern material. 2) Errors in connecting topics of number pattern material with other mathematical materials. 3) Errors in connecting number pattern material with the real-life problems. In addition, the factors which cause students made these errors such as: students did not understand the facts in the questions, students did not understand the concept of number pattern, students did not master the principle of number pattern, students did not master in mathematical operations and students were not careful in answering questions.

Abstract

Connection ability is one of the most important higher order thinking skills and must be developed because in learning mathematics every concept is related to one another. The learning model that is able to hone mathematical connection skills is self-directed learning (SDL). Individuals who have high self-directed learning are individuals who are proactive, have their own initiative, are resourceful, and are individuals who have a responsibility to always learn. This study aims to conduct a literature review related to the Self-Directed Learning model and the ability of mathematical connections. The research method used in this study is the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection is done by documenting all articles that have similar research in research reports. The articles used in this study were 15 national journal articles obtained from the Google Scholar database using the Harzing's Publish or Perish application. Based on this research, it was found that self-directed learning is an independent learning model that can motivate students in learning and can make a student continuously seek information in order to improve abilities. The learning model that is able to hone mathematical connection skills is Self-Directed Learning (SDL).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of students’ open-ended problem-solving skills in solving math problems based on Polya’s steps on the material of quadrilaterals and triangles for class VII SMPN 1 Gunungsari in the 2021/2022 school year. The type of research used in descriptive research. The research subjects were 20 students who were selected with a sampling technique using a promotional start. The data collection techniques use tests and interviews. The results of the study were students with high abilities were able to fulfill every step Polya, students with moderate abilities had not been able to fulfill the fourth stage, namely reviewing the results that had been obtained, and students with low abilities had not been able to carry out the three stages of problem-solving, namely understanding the problem, thinking about plans. And looking back. Overall, the average ability of students in solving open-ended math problems based on Polya’s steps is in the medium category. The majority of students have not been able to write down what is known, what was asked and have not been able to re-examine the results obtained

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of instructional development for space geometry lessons intended for educational institutions in elementary schools, especially grade 6 in Indonesia. The selected lesson covers the topic of the surface area of a triangular prism. Learning development is carried out by conducting a needs and learner analysis as well as a specific task analysis for the selected lesson. Performance objectives and learning outcomes are discussed in detail and their alignment with each other and the overall instructional objectives.

Abstract

This study aims to give learning alternatives to underachiever students using CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) learning strategies to increase learning outcomes and understanding concepts on statistics topics. The development of this learning is done by analyzing the needs of the underachiever students. Performance objective and learning outcomes are adjusted to the instructional event. The results of this study indicate that CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) learning is recommended to help underachiever students in improving learning outcomes and understanding concepts on statistics topics.

Abstract

Transportation is basic human need in supporting various aspects of life, even almost all human activities require transportation. Arrangement of good traffic light are very needed at every intersection of the road. One of the very strategic intersection in Mataram city is Ampenan intersection. One of the factors that affect the accumulation of vehicle queues is less than optimal time when the green light is on at the traffic light. Therefore, it is necessary to study the optimal time of traffic lights based on amount of vehicles that passing and time of the green light is on. One of method to determine the optimal time of traffic light using Monte Carlo simulation method. Monte Carlo method is an algorithm for solving a problem to get better results using the probability distribution. Study uses the distribution of arrival and passing vehicles. Observation the time of arrival and passing vehicles is done in each direction of the traffic light. Results of this study indicate that the optimum time for the green light for the west direction are 21 seconds, for the east direction 21 seconds, for the north direction 36 seconds, and for the south direction 36 seconds.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the errors of the students of MTsN 2 Bima city in solving arithmetic story problems based on Newman's procedures for the 2021/2022 school year. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with written test and interview design. The population of this study were all eighth grade students of MTsN 2 Bima City for the Academic Year 2021/2022 which were distributed in eight classes. The sample class was selected for Class VII eight by giving written tests and interviews so that the criteria for students who obtained high, medium and low scores were obtained to analyze what students' mistakes were in solving the questions. As for the data collection techniques, namely observation and interviews. The analysis used is qualitative data where efforts are made by working with data, organizing data, sorting it into manageable units, synthesizing it, looking for and finding patterns, finding out what is important and what is learned, and deciding what can be done. told to others. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that students' errors in solving math story problems based on the Newman Procedure with the criteria of high-ability students, namely the highest percentage of errors were found in the error stage in writing the final answer with an error rate of 33% and the lowest error rate was at the stage of reading the problem, transformation and process skills with an error rate of 0%, then for moderately capable students, the highest percentage of errors is at the stage of understanding the problem with an error rate of 58% and for the lowest error rate there is at the stage of reading problems, transformation problems and process skills with an error rate of 0%, Finally, for low-ability students, the highest percentage of errors is at the stage of understanding the problem, while the lowest error is at the stage of reading the problem with an error rate of 0%. This shows that we can see the results of the analysis of student errors in solving math story problems on social arithmetic material based on the Newman Procedure Class VII MTsN 2 Bima City.
