Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the degree of difficulty in learning mathematics in grade X students with the population in this study is 359 students grade X and the number of study samples is 72 students were taken with cluster sampling techniques. Data collection techniques in this study used a essay test and unstructured interview questions for 10 students. The instrument of this study are in the form of mathematical essay questions that are closed to the material system of linear equations in two variables for 4 problems. The data obtained were analyzed by fit student answers and key answers in learning difficultiy analysis guide. The results of this study indicate that students of class X in the academic year 2019/2020 had the most difficulty learning principle in the amount of 21.90% which is included in the low category level. While students who had difficulty learning concepts and operations are 13.90% and 12.34% respectively included in the very low category level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of verbal ability and numerical ability on the ability to solve math problems, to determine the effect of verbal ability on the ability to solve math problems, and to determine the effect of numerical abilities on the ability to solve math problems of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Lingsar. This type of research is quantitative. The population of this study student of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Lingsar. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling so that the sample was obtained by class VIII-A. The data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis and simple linear regression analysis. From the results of the data analysis, there is a significant influence between verbal ability and numerical ability on the ability to solve math problems of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Lingsar in the 2019/2020 school year and there is a significant influence between numerical abilities on students' ability to solve math problems. But there is no significant effect between verbal ability on the ability to solve math problems of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Lingsar in the 2019/2020 school year.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) know the results of learning mathematics students who use the Jigsaw cooperative learning model (2) know the results of learning mathematics students who use a cooperative learning model NHT type (Numbered Head Together) (3) find out whether there are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes using the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model, with the type of NHT on the straight-line equation material.This type of research is an experimental Quasi with Post test Only Control Group Design. The sample class was selected using the random sampling cluster technique, so class VIII B was obtained as an experimental class with the Jigsaw model and VIII C as an experimental class with the NHT model. The data retrieval in this study was taken by giving a post test on the research subject. Analysis of test data was using two-of-pooled variance test-t independent samples. Based on the results of the data analysis obtained there was no significant difference in mathematical learning outcomes between classes that were taught with the type Cooperative learning model of Jigsaw and NHT. It can be seen from the hypothesis testing using a test-T pooled variance at a significant level of 5%, indicating that the t_count i.e. 0.80 was smaller than the t_table i.e. 1.67.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) cooperative learning model on the learning outcomes of VII grade students SMPN 3 Kempo academic year 2020/2021 on the material algebraic form. The type of research is pre-experimental research with one shot case study design. The research was conducted in 4 meeting for using the TGT cooperative learning and 1 meeting for the implementation of the posttest. The sample is done by purposive sampling technique, the sample was class VII-A as the experimental class which is using the TGT cooperative learning. Data collection using observation and test techniques. Instruments include: observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The learning outcome data is used to determine how far the students understand the material being taught and the observation data is used to determine the quality of the teaching and learning process which is analyzed descriptively. The research indicator is model TGT cooperative learning, effective if the students’ learning with a classical learning completeness percentage ≥ 85%. Based on the results obtained 16 students who had completed their studies or equal to 88.89% and 2 students who did not complete their studies or 11.11%. The results of observations teacher activities obtained 85% with good criteria, and observations students activities obtained 80% with active criteria. Based on the research results, the cooperative learning model type Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) is effective on the learning students outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of the cooperative learning model of STAD type toward mathematics learning achievement of 8th grade student in SMPN 7 Mataram first semester academic year 2019/2020 on the subject matter of relations and functions. This true experiment research was designed using pretest-posttest control group design. Two classes were selected as a research subject with cluster random sampling technique, namely class VIII-B as the experimental class and VIII-C as the control class. Data collection tehniques were used observation and tests. The statistical analysis used was t-test gain and effect size to see the influence of using the STAD type cooperative learning model toward students' mathematics learning outcomes in SMPN 7 Mataram. The results showed there were differences in the improvement of mathematics learning achievement of mathematics between students who obtained learning with STAD type cooperative model and students who learned with direct learning model. The contribution of the STAD type cooperative learning model to students' mathematics learning achievement was in high category. This showed that learning using STAD type cooperative learning model had a positive influence toward mathematics learning achievement for students of grade 8th in SMPN 7 Mataram.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the profile of implementation mathematics learning and sociomatematic norms in collaborative learning of algebraic material topic at VII-C SMPN 13 Mataram in the 2019/2020 academic year. Indicators of sociomathematic norms in this research are based on the ability to communicate mathematics and the social skills students in collaborative learning. The kind of research this is descriptive qualitative with instruments of data collection which used are the learning device which includes RPP, LLPD, observation sheet of sociomathematic norms in collaboration activities and interview guidelines. The subjects in this study were 30 students who had a category of positive belief in collaborative activities. There are 3 categories of positive belief, namely P1, P2 and P3. P1 subject has a positive belief in collaborative activities and has the ability to solve problems independently, many as 0 people. P2 subjects who have positive beliefs about the effectiveness of collaboration and have the ability to solve problems independently but sometimes need the help of a friend or teacher, many as 28 people. P3 subjects who have positive belief in collaborative activities and do not have the ability to solve problems independently or always need the help of a friend or teacher, many as 2 people. The research subjects had an average percentage of sociomatematic norms ˃ 56%, this means that these subjects had good mathematical communication skills and social skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of cooperative learning method type of the power of two on mathematics learning achievement of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Mataram academic year 2019/2020. This study used quasy experimental design. Population in this study consist all of VIII grade student from 7 class and 2 class as sample by using Cluster random sampling.The data collecting technique is using essay. Data analysis technique using t test to determine the influenceof the power of two cooperative learning method on mathematics learning achievement of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Mataram academic year 2019/2020. For the experimental class it is applied using the cooperative learning model type the power of two and for the control class it is applied using the direct learning model. Based on data analysis, mathematics learning achievement student that used cooperative learning method type of the power of two is higher than students that used conventional learning method. This indicates that there is an influence of the type the power of two cooperative learning methodon mathematics learning achievement of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Mataram academic year 2019/2020.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning model on mathematical problem solving abilities in the form of algebra material. This type of research is a quasi experiment with the posttest only design with a nonequivalent group. The population in this study were 7th grade students of SMPN 1 Mataram in the academic year of 2019/2020. Sample determination using purposive sampling technique, where the sample of this study is students of class VII-I as an experimental class and students of class VII-H as a control class. In the experimental class applied the TAPPS learning model and control class applied the direct learning model. The instrument used in this study was a test of mathematical problem-solving abilities (posttest) on algebra form material. Quantitative data analysis was performed using t-test. The results of the data analysis showed that there are significant differences in students' mathematical problem solving abilities between the classes that get the TAPPS learning and direct learning. This suggests that learning with the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) model affects the ability to solve mathematical problems in the form of algebra material.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the mathematical problem solving ability of class VIII MTsN 1 Mataram at academic year 2019/2020 in solving numbers pattern problems based on reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. This type of research was quantitative descriptive research. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII-6 MTsN 1 Mataram at academic year 2019/2020. Data retrieval were done by using the cognitive test and the test results of problem solving. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the number of reflective students were 14 students (63,6%) who were distributed into 5 students (22,7%) with high ability, 7 students (31,8%) with moderate ability, and 2 student (9,1%) with low ability. While the number of impulsive students were 8 students who distributed into 5 students (22,7%) with medium ability and 3 students (13,6%) with low ability. Those results showed that there were differences in problem solving abilities between students who had reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. Reflective students in solving problems had been able to meet all the indicators at the problem solving stage according to Polya namely understanding the problem, thinking about the plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. While impulsive students in solving problems had been able to fulfill the indicators thinking about plans and implementing plans. Impulsive students tend to skip the stages of understanding a problem and looking back.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the written mathematical communication skills through the lence of cognitive style of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Praya Barat Daya in the academic year 2020/2021. With the subjects of research used is 4 students of class VIII A which is taken were in the form of GEFT test results . This study is a descriptive study. The instrument used is test GEFT and written mathematical communication skills test. The findings of the study showed that (a) Students with field-independent cognitivestyle depictedproper written mathematical communication skill. Students at this level were able to state ideas or mathematical solutions in their own language clearly and precisely, they also were able to state problems in the form of pictures, and were able to write down mathematical ideas and explanations correctly but were still not optimal. (b) Students with a field-dependent cognitive style had good mathematical communication ability. Students at this level were able to state ideas or mathematical solutions in their own language properlyyet are still incomplete, they were still not optimal in addressing problems in the form of images, and lastly, they werealso able to write mathematical ideas and explanations clearly and accurately.
