Abstract

In the era of rapid technological advancement and dynamic labor market demands, equipping vocational students with the right competencies for employability is more crucial than ever. This study explores how academic achievement, information technology proficiency, and organizational experience shape the work readiness of students in vocational education settings. Using a robust Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach via SmartPLS, data were collected from students at SMK Negeri 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. The results show that all three variables significantly and positively affect students' readiness for the workforce. More notably, organizational experience emerges as a key mediating factor, amplifying the influence of both academic performance and IT proficiency. This finding highlights a critical yet often overlooked aspect of employability preparation in vocational education. By integrating academic rigor, digital literacy, and active organizational participation, schools can foster a more holistic readiness among students for real-world challenges. This study contributes a fresh empirical model and offers strategic insights for policymakers and educators to design future-ready vocational curricula.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Kahoot! educational game on student learning outcomes in the Engine and Heavy Equipment Unit course for Phase F students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. A quasi-experimental design with equivalent control and experimental groups (n=18 each) was employed. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, confirming suitability for parametric testing. Hypothesis testing using an independent t-test revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s mean post-test score (80.3) compared to the control group (74.2), with t (34) = 3.618, p < 0.05. The pre-test scores showed no significant difference between groups, ensuring comparability. These findings demonstrate that Kahoot! as an interactive gamified learning tool effectively enhances student engagement and academic performance in vocational engineering education. This study contributes novel empirical evidence supporting the integration of gamification in technical skill development, addressing a research gap in vocational ICT-based pedagogy.

Abstract

The advancement of web-based technology has opened new opportunities for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in vocational education. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Google Sites as a digital learning media combined with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Network System Administration. Conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles, this study involved 31 students from class XI TKJ at SMKN 5 Padang. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and learning achievement tests. The findings show a consistent increase in students’ learning engagement and performance. The average learning outcomes rose from 67.42 (pre-cycle) to 78.86 (cycle II), with student mastery increasing from 68% to 90%. The integration of Google Sites facilitated independent and flexible access to learning materials, while the PjBL model encouraged collaborative problem-solving and practical skill development. These results suggest that the combination of interactive digital media and project-based instruction significantly enhances the effectiveness of vocational learning environments.

Abstract

This study presents the development and implementation of VocaTeach, a web-based application designed to enhance project-based learning in the context of automotive vocational education. Motivated by the growing need to align vocational training with Industry 4.0 competencies, VocaTeach integrates digital project management, collaboration tools, and a comprehensive evaluation system to support both teachers and students in managing complex, real-world automotive tasks. The system was developed using an Agile methodology and deployed at SMK Swasta Pembda Nias, a vocational school in a geographically remote region. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining surveys, interviews, and usage analytics to assess the platform’s effectiveness. Results showed a significant increase in student engagement (85%), peer collaboration (150% rise in interactions), and improved academic outcomes, including an 18% gain in theoretical test scores. Teacher workload decreased by up to 30%, reflecting improved efficiency in project supervision and assessment. Statistical analysis confirmed the significance of these improvements (p < 0.05) with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.8). Qualitative data reinforced these findings, with students reporting enhanced motivation and perceived relevance of learning tasks, while teachers highlighted improved structure and fairness in assessment. The study concludes that VocaTeach is a viable and scalable digital innovation for vocational education, especially in underserved regions. Future research is recommended to explore integration with Industry 5.0 technologies and to evaluate long-term impacts on career readiness and skill mastery.

Abstract

The internship licensing process at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) was previously managed through manual procedures, leading to inefficiencies such as delayed processing, data redundancy, and lack of real-time status tracking. This study aimed to develop a web-based internship licensing system to improve administrative efficiency, transparency, and user experience. The development process employed the waterfall model, covering five stages: requirement analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance. The system was implemented using Laravel for the backend, Flutter for the frontend, and MySQL for the database. Key features include digital permit submission, weekly and final report uploads, role-based dashboards, and real-time status notifications. System validation involved black-box testing and expert evaluation using a 5-point Likert scale, yielding a 94.66% feasibility score categorized as very feasible. The results demonstrate that the application fulfills core functional requirements and addresses the previously identified administrative limitations. The study concludes that the system is effective for managing internship processes in public institutions. Future improvements include broader system integration with academic information systems and enhanced mobile compatibility.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has become increasingly relevant in the era of Industry 4.0 and the transition toward Society 5.0. This study aims to provide a bibliometric analysis of research trends, thematic clusters, and emerging keywords related to AI in education between 2018 and 2025. Using the Publish or Perish software and data from Google Scholar, 200 articles were selected based on relevance and citation metrics. Keyword co-occurrence analysis and visual mapping were conducted using VOSviewer to identify dominant research themes. The results reveal a growing body of literature focused on AI applications in education, with key topics including adaptive learning, machine learning, digital transformation, and human-centered innovation. However, critical gaps remain, particularly in research addressing cultural context, teacher readiness, digital equity, and the long-term impact of AI-driven tools. This study highlights the need for inclusive, ethical, and context-aware approaches to AI in education, offering insights and recommendations for future research aligned with the human-centric values of Society 5.0
