Abstract

Aesthetics if viewed in a general sense has similarities with aesthetics in Hindu's view which is essentially a view of the sense of Beauty (Lango) of an object being observed. However, Hindu aesthetics are tied by Hindu values that are based on the teachings of the Vedic scriptures. There are some concepts that become fundamental foundations and are considered important in Hindu aesthetics such as; The concept of chastity, the concept of truth, and the concept of balance. The concept of chastity (Siwan) essentially concerns divine values that also include the Yadnya and Taksu. Hindus, as seen in Bali, has a aesthetic view tied by the spiritual values of the Godhead in accordance with the teachings of Hinduism. The Hindu leaders claimed that God was the most beautiful and the source of all beauty. In India, God in his form Shiva Nataraja with his dance is said to be the creator of music and dance as well as the creator of the Supreme art. For this belief, Hindu people believe that everything that is artistic value is God's creation. The problem in this case is the aesthetic concept in a work of art and the meaning contained in a created artwork. The theory used is aesthetic theory with the observation method using the five senses. The results of observations are known to consist of themes of philosophy, rules, and ethics in a work of art. The mandate is that one must be able to express a taste into a work that has high aesthetic value in it. The aesthetics of Balinese artwork, especially paintings, ornaments or Balinese art, is formed from several elements and instruments that asking complement, as well as fulfilling the Hindu aesthetic of Satyam, Siwam, and Sundaram. The meaning contained in a Balinese art work include: The Meaning of Hindu theology consists of God's source of everything, the God can be realized with the symbol by being poured into the form of painting in accordance with the concept of Tri Purusa namely Sadasiwa; Susila's meaning consists of social strata and literary sociology; And the meaning of the event consists of the meaning of self-purification, religious ceremony facilities and used as interior to enjoy its beauty.

Abstract

To worship God Almighty and its manifestations, Balinese Hindu society is very synonymous with its sacred buildings. Where the holy building is a symbol as well as an intermediary medium for human communication with God. This makes holy places have a very important position in Hinduism. If in the community a holy place is called a temple. However, it is different in the household / family that the holy place is called Sanggah / Mrajan. In general, Sanggah is a holy place to worship God and its manifestations and the ancestors who have been purified. Therefore Sanggah / Mrajan is not only an intermediary medium between God and humans, but also as an intermediary medium for the Hindu community to communicate with their ancestors, one of which is through the Sanggah Kemulan. Every human being born in the world, of course, already has a debt called Tri Rna. Where the debt will be paid through Panca Yadnya. One of the debts that must be paid is Pitra Rna which is paid through Pitra Yadnya and Manusia Yadnya. To pay this debt every Hindu community always relates to Bhatara Hyang Guru through the Sanggah Kemulan. This is intended to establish a harmonious relationship between families who are still living with God and also their ancestors. So that because of this, humans will achieve happiness during their lifetime

Abstract

The concept of classical aesthetics, with its central characters Plato and Aristotle, asserts that a work of art is the creations of a subject that is an imitation from the nature. Plato's concept is the process of creation, including the creation of works of art, as a process of imitation which he calls mimesis. Plato's opinion is based on their experience as figures of naturalism. While Aristotle is in the same line with Plato, who said that works of art are imitations, but for Aristotles, a work of art is not just an imitation, but the world of ideas, namely the forms of reality, only exists in nature. Between reality and ideas is a unity. The concept of these two classical philosophers about aesthetics is certainly important to considered for an assessment of various works of art. This article will discuss about how it is possible in the assessment of a work of art.

Abstract

Bhagavadgȋtā is a very important holy book which gives a deep spiritual understanding of life. The Bhagavadgȋtā text is divided into 700 sloka which are summarized in 18 chapters or adhyaya. In addition to learning what the Almighty God means, the Bhagavadgȋtās, living beings, the Bhagavadgȋtā also learns about the teachings of Ahimsa. Ahimsa teachings emphasize not killing, not hurting and without violence. Ahimsa as a teaching that does not do violence. It is true that killing is a form of violence. But there are murders which are permitted and even required by Vedic teachings. Killing to preserve life is not an act of Himsa karma. Even the Bhagavadgȋtā which is conveyed by the Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna is an order for Arjuna to rise and do his duty to kill his opponents on the battlefield. Murder must be carried out in order to perform duties and obligations.

Abstract

Nyāya Darsana's philosophy system is one of the six Hindu philosophy systems known as Sad Darsana. Nyāya philosophy becomes the basis of the six existing philosophy systems, because in the Nyāya philosophy system it discusses the general part of darśana (Philosophy) and discusses how to obtain truth through critical observation. The Nyāya philosophical system contains the teachings of Tarka-vidya (Science of debate) and Vada-vidya (Science of discussion) as a means of obtaining a truth. Debates, dialogues or discussions have been studied and implemented since time immemorial, this is shown through several sacred literature, the way of which is conveyed through the dialogue or discussion method, including the Bhagavadgita and several Upanisads which tell a teacher conveying knowledge to students. Tarka-vidyā and Vada-vidya become very important to understand because debate, discussion and dialogue cannot be avoided in life, as well as a medium for reaching a truth that can be accepted by logic.
