Abstract

Men against women usually do hegemony. However, it does not rule out the possibility that women can do hegemony over their fellow human beings. Even if women do hegemony towards women, their form can be more sadistic than male hegemony towards women. They are not only found in real life but also in texts of literary works such as in  Satua Men Tiwas signed Men Sugih, where this literary work is one of the well-known ones in Bali. In each of the Men Tiwas signed by Sugih, Men described the hegemony of Men Sugih towards Men Tiwas, where the economic levels of both of them are inversely proportional. Like the concept of karmapala in Bali, in this literature Men Sugih also got karmapala due to his sadistic actions towards Men Tiwas.

Abstract

The existence of a myth that has developed among Hindus in Bali regarding the prohibition of reading and writing on the holy day of Saraswati is still perceived by the Hindu community as something contradictory. Saraswati Day, as a holy day for the decline of knowledge, has restrictions on not reading and writing. This raises pros and cons among the Balinese Hindu community. Conservative community groups consider that this is a provision that cannot be questioned and criticized. But on the other hand, millennials who tend to be progressive are trying to criticize this. In fact, the prohibition of reading and writing on the holy day of Saraswati has a philosophy and ethical values which, when understood, will arrive at a meeting point between myth and rationality. Through this paper, we will discuss the philosophical meaning and ethical values of the prohibition of reading and writing on the holy day of Saraswati based on Hindu teachings

Abstract

Humans are the most dominant creatures, so humans have the largest population on earth at this time. There are so many works that have been owned by humans that have changed the way humans perceive the world. This is because humans are understood as intelligent creatures. It is with this intellect that man can manifest what he has thought into a reality which can become a truth. One of the philosophers who had this idea was Auguste Comte. He is one of the philosophers of the Positiveistic era with his thoughts on Positivism. Auguste Comte here further sharpens his thinking about that truth is obtained through Positivism. The positivism paradigm according to Auguste Comte shows that the resources for obtaining knowledge are by using reason and making observations. The use of reason is a human potential or way to achieve and express truth through observation until finding concepts, generalizations, legal propositions and theories. However, there are also some criticisms regarding Auguste Comte's positivism which are considered that Comte's thinking is entirely derivative. However, this response is actually wrong. Abstract

The Hindu concept of divinity is a fascinating discussion and always provokes a long debate. As the pioneers of Vedic studies in the modern age, Western writers have instilled that Hinduism adheres to a polytheistic system. It is considered a retarded ancient religion compared to the concept of Smith's religions that uphold monotheism, which is regarded as more plausible in the realm of modern human thinking. The Ṛgveda is the oldest text in human civilization, which is authoritatively considered to be the primary and first source of Hindu knowledge, including the concept of divinity. With the Vedic Hermeneutic pattern, this article examines the concept of monotheism in Ṛgveda, which is different from the concept of Western monotheism. The Ṛgveda clearly states that readers of the Vedas are not confused by the many Deities' names in the Vedas who control various regions and functions in the cycle of the cosmos.

This article aims to know about how humans find a way to achieve their true Self. People with all their limitations try to understand what the real goal of life is. The goal of human life is not only to seek the happiness they feel by obtaining everything they want in this world, but that is actually beyond the earthly happiness. The goal is to achieve moksha or unite the Self (Ātman) with the Creator or God (Brahman). Another term also mentioned is that Ātman achieved liberation or release; The Ātman is free from all worldly attachment and escapes from the cycle of rebirth (punarbhawa). The efforts to achieve this ultimate goal are made by raising self-awareness towards godliness awareness which in this article is termed by achieving self-realization. This article uses the approach of literature studies with the philosophical methods, which is the interpretation about concept of self-realization by contemplating towards absolute voidness with the perspective of the holy scripture Vijñàna Bhairawa.

Abstract

Religion is the system of human belief about the existence of God as the origin and return of all forms of life. The concept of divinity (theology) in Hinduism expressly states the existence of God in the form of Nirguna Brahman and Saguna Brahman. The main sources of divinity in Hinduism can be extracted from the Vedic sacred library (Sruti). Besides that divine teachings in Hinduism can be extracted from literature such as Brahma Sutra, Upanisad, Purana, Ithihasa and archipelago texts in the form of lontar. One of the lontar which describes the Hindu theology is Tattwa Jñāna. Tattwa Jñāna means knowledge about tattwa, Śivaistis pattern contains the teachings of Shiva. Verses in this lontar used Old Javanese. This book guides people who want to be free from misery and reincarnation. Sanghyang Tattwa Jñāna that must be known in advance, which is the basis of all tattwa. By recognizing Sanghyang Tattwa Jñāna, humans can understand the life and life they receive now. In TattwaJñāna, the existence of God in the form of Nirguna Brahman is mentioned as Bhaţţara Parama Śiva , while God in the form of Saguna Brahman is declared as Bhaţţara Sadā Śiva. Parama Śiva is cetana / purusa or psychiatric / highest consciousness (God), holy - pure, not yet totally influenced by cyberspace (acetana / prakerti / pradhana), calm calm, eternal eternal, not beginning, not ending; so he was given the name Nirguna Brahman. SadāŚiva is Saguna Brahman, meaning that God has begun to take or be affected by the influence of māyā (acetana), and already has properties, functions and activities. The influence of māyā is not yet great, only in the form of use or the law of his own omnipotence which is often referred to as "Sakti", so that His holiness is still greater than the influence of māyā.

Abstract

For humans, knowing who he is and where he came from, what is the purpose of his life, how he lives life consistently, is a different matter. The question of "who is that human?" is the most basic and most important question in human history. All questions concerning other things, such as about the earth, moon, sky, air, water, and atoms, cells and about God are only relevant if they are related to humans. However, all these questions are one unit, namely related to the meaning of life and the values of human existence. Nietzsche explores strongly the discourse on existentialism issues (freedom, death, fear, worry, human suffering). Nietzsche's doctrine stems from a concrete understanding of man and his life. Nietzsche's main teaching was the will toward attainable power in the idea of the ideal superior human. This asserts that human existence is a human will wish that transcends comparison. Nietzsche is a spirit beyond his time (modern rationality). The way to achieve human excellence with three basic components, namely courage, intelligence and pride. Humans must be brave to face life, both happiness and suffering. Nietzsche asserts that with suffering, humans will reach their maximum potential, because when we are faced with conflict, humans can release all potential and abilities that will help him to become Ubermensch. Keywords: Human, superior human, human existence
