Abstract

An insurance company must be able to manage risks in the form of claims submitted by policyholders. There are several risk measures or actuarial measures that can be used to predict future risks and help companies prepare reserves. These actuarial measures are Value at Risk (VaR), Tail Value at Risk (TVaR), Tail Variance (TV), and Tail Variance Premium (TVP). In this article, we will discuss these actuarial measures for inverse Gaussian distributed claim severity. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is used to test the fit of the inverse Gaussian distribution. The maximum likelihood estimator is used as a method to estimate the parameters of the inverse Gaussian distribution. The data used in this article is data on partial loss claims for motor vehicle insurance insurance company PT. ABC in 2019 Category 1 in all regions. However, after testing the goodness of fit of the distribution using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for region 3, it did not come from a population with an inverse Gaussian distribution. So the data used to proceed to the actuarial measures estimation stage is only region 1 and region 2. Based on the results of calculating the actuarial measures for inverse Gaussian distributed claim severity, it can be concluded that the value of losses expected by a company can be calculated by taking into account the actuarial measures for claim severity on motor vehicle insurance in Indonesia.

Abstract

Pyraminx is a twisty puzzle in the shape of a tetrahedron with 4 sides. Pyraminx is played with the bottom completely flat and the front side facing the person holding the Pyraminx. The goal of the Pyraminx game is to randomize the colors, then return the scrambled colors to their original color positions by rotating the sides. This research does not discuss the most effective way of solving Pyraminx but focuses more on proving that movements in Pyraminx form group and that there is a group isomorphism from the group of Pyraminx movements to the  symmetry permutation subgroup in Pyraminx. First, it is proved that movements in Pyraminx form group using 2 methods, namely direct proof in Pyraminx (Pyaminx movement group) and performing permutations in set   containing numeric labels in the form of numbers 1 to 36 on Pyraminx facets by following the movements of Pyraminx ( symmetry permutation subgroup). Furthermore, it is proved that there is a group isomorphism from the Pyraminx movement group to the   symmetry permutation subgroup in Pyraminx.

Abstract

Recently, graphs have started to be used to represent a finite ring. Nikmehr and  Khojasteh in the article  defined the nilpotent graph of a ring . Denoted , is a graph with the set of vertices being all the elements in the ring  Two vertices  and  are adjacent if and only if  is nilpotent elements in the ring . Topological index is a field that discusses graph structure based on the degree of each vertex of a graph and the distance between vertices.  In this study, the author will gives the general formula of the Szeged index and Padmakar-Ivan index of the nilpotent graph graph of the modulo ring with prime power order. The result of this research is a general formula for the topological indices of nilpotent graphs of the integer modulo ring, called the Szeged index and the Padmakar-Ivan index.

Abstract

Infant mortality rate is a crucial indicator for assessing the health and infant care quality in a region. In the effort to reduce infant mortality rates, regression analysis serves as a tool to identify influential factors. However, regression analysis often encounters the challenge of multicollinearity, which involves high correlation among predictor variables. To address this issue, various regularization techniques can be applied, such as ridge regression, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), and elastic net. Ridge regression aims to control coefficient variance, while LASSO directs some coefficients to zero, functioning as variable selection. Elastic net combines the strengths of both methods by merging ridge and LASSO regularization. The objective of this research is to evaluate the performance of ridge regression, elastic net, and LASSO methods in handling multicollinearity issues, utilizing infant mortality rate data in South Sulawesi Province. The results indicate that the elastic net method outperforms both Ridge and LASSO methods. The best-performing model is obtained through elastic net with a coefficient of determination value of 60.81%, whereas ridge and LASSO methods yield coefficient of determination values of 54.11% and 58.18%, respectively. This demonstrates that the application of the elastic net method is capable of producing more accurate results in modeling the variables within the analysis of infant mortality rate data compared to other methods.

Abstract

Group theory is a field of abstract algebra that studies the structure of sets. Some concepts that are developments of group theory are fuzzy subgroups. Suppose that G is a group, a fuzzy subset μ of G is called a fuzzy subgroup of G if it satisfies  and  for each . However, not all groups have fuzzy subgroups. The aim of this research is to show that  is a classical group with multiplication operations in the group and determine fuzzy subgroups in the group . From the research results, it is found that the subset  with prime modulo integers  and  is a classical group with group multiplication operations and the fuzzy subset in the group  is a fuzzy subgroup and in general The properties of the classical group apply to the fuzzy subgroup, namely the singularity of the identity and the singularity of the inverse. However, there are properties of classical groups that do not apply to fuzzy subgroups, namely the law of cancellation

Abstract

Income is an element in the process of economic development that serves as an indicator of the standard of living for individuals, families, or the population. Cikanyere is a village located in, West Java, Cianjur, which still has low economic growth. Economic growth can be observed from the level of income obtained by the population. Based on the aforementioned issue, the original purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence the level of individual income in Cikanyere Village. One type of regression analysis is ordinal logistic regression, which is used to test the correlation between independent variables and dependent variables that have multiple categories or polychotomous, meaning variables that have two or more categories and are in ordinal scale. Ordinal logistic regression is used because the dependent variable in this study is the income level, while the independent variables include education level, age, marital status, number of dependents, and gender. All these independent variables are measured on an ordinal scale. In this study, the influence of each component on the income level is measured partially using the Pearson Chi-Square test. The results show that age, education level, and the number of dependents to the components that affect the income level in Cikanyere Village. Gender and marital status do not affect the income level. The obtained ordinal logistic regression model provides the likelihood of individual income improvement based on changes in age, education level, and the number of dependents.

Abstract

Insurance premiums are a sum of money that must be paid by participants of life insurance programs to insurance companies to compensate for losses suffered by participants. The amount of the premium must be in accordance with the sum insured to be received, so that the insurance company has enough money to replace the losses suffered by its customers. In determining the premiums also should not be too large, because it can burden the insurance program customers. Therefore it is necessary to do an analysis to find out the factors (gender, age, amount of coverage, occupation, method of payment of premiums, amount of premium, and type of insurance product) that affect the term of payment ability by the customer. The analysis conducted is using the Cox Proportional Hazard Model. The results obtained in this study are factors that have a significant effect on the period of ability to pay premiums, namely the amount of sum insured, profession and types of insurance product
