Abstract

Subjective Well-being (SWB) relates to how a person evaluates their overall life positively. Income is one of the predictors of SWB, which allows a person to have a greater ability to achieve some goals. However, the fact is that there are also people who can achieve SWB without looking at the material element, namely volunteers (volunteers) who sincerely do activities without material rewards. One of the volunteering that is still actively running and has been widely discussed in the media is the (non-profit) movement "Sedekah Mainan". This mini-research aims to find out how the dynamics (causes, existing conditions, and impacts) of SWB in volunteers who initiate the (non-profit) Sedekah Mainan movement. This study was conducted using a case study approach. Data collection techniques used interviews with the main subject (founder/ initiator) and significant other (co-founder) as a form of data triangulation and observation. The results of this mini research reveal that engaging in activities that are in accordance with mission and passion is a major factor in achieving SWB (eudemonic perspective). The subject found his life mission and passion in this Toy Alms movement. In addition, the subject also has positive affect and life satisfaction that is more dominant than negative affect which makes the subject achieve SWB (hedonic aspect perspective).

Abstract

Social Community Service (SCS) group 208 of Universitas Sebelas Maret carried out the Ecofoam activity: Education and Training on Dish Soap Making in Sendangagung Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency. This activity aims to increase public knowledge and skills in producing environmentally friendly dish soap as an effort to reduce dependence on commercial cleaning products. The implementation methods include socialization, demonstration, and direct practice involving PKK women as the main participants. The results of the activity showed a high level of participation, where most participants were able to produce good quality dish soap even though they had no previous experience. This activity has a positive impact on two main aspects, namely increasing environmental awareness regarding the dangers of using synthetic chemicals and opening up household business opportunities based on natural soap products that have the potential to increase family income. Thus, the Ecofoam program contributes to community empowerment, strengthening economic independence, and increasing environmental awareness in Sendangagung Village.

Abstract

The present study has been developed for the purpose of analyzing the process of establishing early childhood values and characteristics in the context of "Great Child Habituation." A central objective of this study is to examine the way routines are represented in the formation of character. In addition, the study will serve to formulate technology-based adaptive parenting models. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing content analysis of videos on TikTok and Instagram. The data undergoes multimodal analysis, encompassing visual, auditory, and textual dimensions, to discern patterns in the construction of character value. The results of the study demonstrate that character values, such as discipline, independence, responsibility, religiosity, and empathy, are constructed through concrete, repetitive, and reinforced routines, as well as narratives and symbolic framing. Routine representation serves as the primary mechanism of character internalization through consistent habituation. Furthermore, this research produces a technology-based adaptive parenting model that places digital content as a stimulus, parents as active mediators, and routines as a bridge in the formation of children's characters.
