Abstract

A problem that often occurs during the process of learning history at the high school level is the tendency to receive information that is only delivered from teachers to students. The main goal in history learning is to build students' historical awareness individually or in groups achieved through a learning process. History subject learning in schools is more likely to use the lecture method so that history is often analogous to memorizing an event or figures in history. This kind of method pays less attention to intellectual skills and understanding of history awareness for the students. Therefore, a learning strategy is needed to build historical awareness for students so that history is no longer seen as mere rote knowledge. Currently, Generation Z is still in high school. Their general nature tends to be practical, which makes them ignorant of history. Historical films, especially Kartini film (2017), can invite students to understand the importance of historical awareness about past events that affect the present. In this study, the authors used a qualitative approach where this research is descriptive. This study aims to find out or describe the reality of the events under investigation to find out and understand how to build historical awareness through the Kartini film for generation Z. Results of this study show that students can realize historical events through the Kartini film and even able to explain in detail about the problems that occurred at that time and bring it to today's modern issues. Students can build historical values through film because film involves all the emotions within themselves. Learning history is no longer just sharing information from teachers to students but can be through the feelings presented in historical films.

Abstract

Each university will hold PMB (New Student Admission) activities. Similar to STMIK Sinar Nusantara, which is one of private universities in Surakarta, these events are held annually to draw in individuals who wish to pursue higher education. This is a very significant activity for a private university, with a new improvement target each year. At a private university, the number of new students is crucial because it is the primary source of funding. Activities of New Student Admission (PMB) at STMIK Sinar Nusantara have shown a decreasing tendency for a number of years. Institutional development and instructional activities will be impacted by this. One of the reasons is the widespread adoption of promotional targets that lack a scholarly foundation. Therefore, a decision support system is required to solve this issue. This study aims to assist policy makers in selecting appropriate promotion targets. The technique in this research is Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). The school promotion targets derived from the school ranking order and cluster classification are the outcomes of this study. With a score of 0.96, SMKN 1 Bulukerto School got the highest preference computation score. SAW method-based decision support system has been successful in identifying the appropriate promotional targets. The results of this research can be used by policy makers organizing activities of new student admission in promoting STMIK Sinar Nusantara to increase the number of new students.

Abstract

The ability to understand mathematics in children with special needs (CSN) needs to be constantly improved. Because the capabilities of CSNs are not the same, they should be grouped based on the results of the evaluations that have been carried out. The purpose of this study is to group children with special needs who receive therapy at Mutiara Al Islam Therapy based on the progress of their mathematical skills. For grouping, use the K-Means Algorithm because this method can be effective in grouping data. Data was obtained from the Mutiara Al Islam therapy institution in Surakarta. The data is in the form of initial math skill scores and new math skill scores, the next process is calculated as a percentage increase in intentions, then clustered. The result of this study is the formation of 2 clusters, namely low improvment and high improvment, so that it can help therapists to improve CSN math skills based on the results of the cluster. Based on the results of the silhouette validity test, the accuracy level of cluster 1 is 0.575629 and cluster 2 is 0.471283.

Abstract

Social inequality in the field of education impacts the implementation of educational goals, causing them to be less than optimal. Education should be accessible to all members of society. The changes occurring in the educational sector require all actors to adapt and follow these changes. This study aims to identify and analyze the strategies employed by teachers and students in addressing social inequality in education during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research utilizes a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. A phenomenological approach was chosen in this research to reveal and understand the phenomenon of gaps in education by teachers and students as well as the strategies used by teachers and students in dealing with these gaps. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, documentation, and the use of previous studies as references for this research. The collected data were analyzed using Pierre Bourdieu's theory of capital. The results of this study indicate that social inequality in education during the Covid-19 pandemic was driven by the unpreparedness of teachers and students to implement distance learning. However, teachers and students were able to overcome social inequality in education by utilizing the capital they possess, namely social capital, cultural capital, economic capital, and symbolic capital.
