Abstract

Fatigue in motorists is a serious problem that causes traffic accidents and deaths every year, including online motorcycle taxi riders. Motorcycle riders contribute 72.7% to all injuries caused by traffic accidents in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the risk factors of fatigue in online motorcycle taxi riders based on demographic characteristics, job characteristics, and work stress. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 306 online motorcycle taxi riders in Jabodetabek and Denpasar between January and June 2018, which was selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected through interviews using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple logistic regression with the forward LR method. The results showed that 68.1% of online motorcycle taxi riders experienced fatigue. The risk factors associated with fatigue in online motorcycle taxi drivers were work stress (AOR=3.66;95%CI=2.01-6.66), lack of physical activity (AOR=2.11;95% CI=1.27-3.51), duration of sleep <7 hours (AOR=1.73;95%CI=1.04-2.87), marital status (AOR=2.07;95%CI=1.18-3.64), and age <30 years (AOR=2.52; 95%CI=1.43-4.45). Meanwhile, the work area, nutritional status, rest duration, and other jobs were not proven to be related to work fatigue. Fatigue in online motorbike riders is associated with work stress, physical activity, sleep duration, marital status, and age, so preventive measures can be applied by considering these factors.

Abstract

Environmental health and industry have a relationship that will have an impact on worker health, work productivity, and other things that support the effectiveness and efficiency of the industry, some components such as soil, water, food, facilities, buildings, as well as vector and disease-carrying animals are aspects and requirements of industrial environmental health. This study aims to analyze the achievement of industrial environmental health requirements at PT X, referring to the Minister of Health Regulation No. 70 of 2016. This research was conducted from January to February 2020, using a descriptive qualitative design. Researchers explore information through interviews with informants and complete them with observation. The selected informants are employees in the K3LH Division, employees in the maintenance division, employees in the catering section, K3LH division managers, and catering section managers. The analysis technique used qualitative analysis on the assessment results according to the instruments used. This study found that the efforts for environmental health requirements at PT X had reached 89% of the total instruments analyzed. This happens because there are still some components that do not meet the requirements, such as WWTP, water-saving facilities, lactation facilities, smoking facilities, facilities for the disabled, and buildings that are densely packed with insects. The recommendation given is to improve and add several facilities related to environmental health requirements that are not yet available and then periodically reassess.

Abstract

The number of adolescent premarital sex behavior cases in West Sumatera was 107 in 2016, where 80% occurred in Padang. This research aims to know the reinforcing factor that related to premarital sex behavior on adolescent of Senior High School favorite in Padang. Quantitative research with cross-sectional design. The number of samples was 547 taken by proportional stratified random sampling. The data are collected by questionnaire and analyzed with univariate, bivariate, and multivariate logistic regression. Moreover, qualitative research with case study design with informants is eight students and teachers respectively. Data collected with in-depth interviews then analyzed with thematic content. More than half of the respondents have a high risk of sexual behavior. Bivariate analysis showed that there were correlation role of teacher (p= 0,025), role of friends (p= 0,0001), role of parent (p= 0,012), and there was no correlation role of health provider (p= 0,075) with adolescent premarital sex behavior. Multivariate analysis showed that variable with a high correlation to premarital sexual behavior was the role of friends (p= 0,000, Ecp(B)= 2,743) with controlled by predisposing variables (knowledge, attitude, religiosity) and enabling variable (mass media exposure). Therefore, the reinforcing factor that related to premarital sex behavior on adolescents was the role of friends. It was recommended that adolescents to be more selective in choosing friends who bring positive impacts and should filter the true information about premarital sexual behavior from their peers.

Abstract

The pest control service industry is one of the industries in the field of pest control services, especially those in residential areas that use pesticides that can be harmful, especially for pest sprayers. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with pesticide poisoning in workers in pest spraying companies. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 30 people spraying pests at PT Zeta Prima Lestari with a total sampling method. Univariate, bivariate analysis, and statistical tests use coefficient contingency. Measurement of serum cholinesterase levels was carried out at Borromeus Hospital Bandung. The results showed the characteristics of the respondents most respondents aged 21-30 years (63.3%), working period of more than 1 year were 43.3%, smoking habits (70.0%), the duration of exposure were mostly more than 5 hours per day (90%), there were still those who did not use PPE in full (3.3%) and the BMI of respondents in thin and fat conditions was 26.7%. Statistical test results showed that the variable use of PPE is associated with serum cholinesterase levels (p = 0.0001), but age (p = 0.573), years of service (p = 0.245), smoking habits (p = 0.506), length of exposure (p = 0.735), BMI (p = 0.540) and Hb levels (p = 0.690) are not related. Based on research results that pest sprayers who use PPE in full will be better protected from exposure to pesticides. The recommended recommendation is to monitor the use of PPE before work and periodic serum cholinesterase checks on pest sprayers.

Abstract

The increasing number of patients with schizophrenia in the community requires positive support from all parties so that they can be more productive and independent. Stigma and discrimination that are still prevalent become the biggest obstacles to the community coping strategies in responding to the presence of patients with schizophrenia. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the coping strategies of people living side by side with patients with schizophrenia. This study used an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was the people who live around patients with schizophrenia in the working area of Bantur Community Health Center, Malang Regency, East Java. There were 138 respondents selected based on the multi-stage random sampling technique. The predictor variables examined were problem appraisal (X1), social capital (X2), and social support (X3). Data were analyzed using logistic regression tests. The results of the study indicate that the fac-tor that influences community coping strategies is social capital (X2). The resulting regression equation is Y = 5.627 + 0.733X1 + 1.739X2 - 0.021X3. Therefore, it can be concluded that social capital is a predictor that in-fluences community coping strategies. It is therefore recommended that the community could strengthen their social capital to help the recovery of patients with schizophrenia.
