Abstract

The study explored the psychological experiences of Senior High School students and their coping strategies in selected Senior High Schools in Ghana in the wake of the third wave of Covid-19. Data for the study were purposely collected from 20 respondents using a semi-structured interview guide and analysed thematically. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of students in Senior High Schools are confused and have a feeling of anxiety whilst on campus in the wake of the third wave of Covid-19. It was further established that Senior High School students cope by building relationships with their teachers and as well with their colleagues in school and adherence to state laid down protocols. The contribution of Guidance and Counselling units in the schools played a great role in helping students cope psychologically.

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyse the status of women entrepreneurship initiatives through cooperatives in Jharkhand, India and highlights the impact on tribal women empowerment, and their leadership competencies on this economic contribution. Bargaining for women leadership positions in all spheres of Asian societies has emerged as an important concern in quest of equity, whereas tribal women’s development has mostly remained limited to their participation in various programmes run by the government as well as non-government agencies. Recognition of women leaders from a tribal community in the 21st century is still a distant dream. Yet economic empowerment and group activities in the tribal regions of Jharkhand have revealed the potential and are seen as instrumental in transforming leadership capabilities of tribal women leaders in the tribal geography of Jharkhand. The paper shares the outcomes of the author’s study based on case studies in the region, secondary data and, literature review, related to the trends in tribal women’s leadership. The study reveals that women from tribal communities of Jharkhand have traditionally been disempowered socially and treated as less capable to lead and mostly refrained from societal leadership positions. It is also revealed that with facilitation and support, they demonstrate excellent leadership competencies to manage successful collective enterprises. The study also raises prominent questions of assessing the impact and influence of such empowerment and collective entrepreneurship on socioeconomic aspects.

Abstract

The competitiveness of the workforce and the country's productivity in the future depend mainly on the quality of education. The strategic mindset of education leaders and planners, policymakers, administrators, researchers, teachers, students, and engagement of external stakeholders are some of the critical foundations of effective human capital development. Future-proof professionals are products of the quality of minds of the crafters and implementors of the graduate education curriculum. Therefore, education planners must be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills of curriculum planning. The University of Southeastern Philippines, College of Development Management (USeP-CDM), explores the opportunity to create a global community of professionals by developing an Outcomes-based Graduate Education (OBGE). Thus, this study aimed to determine the collective knowledge and skills of planning and executing curriculum design of graduate education of the college. This study employed a qualitative method of research using action research. Action research is an appropriate design of the study because it is anchored on the principles of participation, empowerment and critical reflection in curriculum planning. Data were collected from the in-house faculty workshops and meetings, external stakeholders' consultations, and research conferences. Action learning and reflective practice were used to validate the predetermined themes of the collective knowledge and skills in the planning and executing curriculum design and development. The study revealed seven collective knowledge and skills demonstrated in planning and implementing the curriculum design and development. These knowledge and skills include Innovation, Design Thinking, Futures Literacy, Collaborative Foresight, Systems Thinking, Creative Thinking, and Reflective Practice. Finally, the study's findings showed that a newer sensibility of planning and execution of future-proof graduate education curriculum emanates from cultivating the knowledge creation process of the education planners, faculty, students, and administrators.

Abstract

This descriptive study aimed to determine the extent of awareness of various stakeholders on the Vision and Mission Statements of Cavite State University, Teacher Education Department Goals, and Education Program Objectives (VMGO), the acceptability level of the VMGO statements of the University, and the level of perception on the VMGO’s congruency and alignment to curricular education activities, operations, and projects. The study which was conducted at Cavite State University Imus Campus was able to yield data from 817 internal and external stakeholders. Results reveal that both the internal and external stakeholders are highly aware of the VMGO of the University and its dissemination in various forms of media. Moreover, they highly understand and accept the VMGO statements. Likewise, their perceptions include strong agreement that the VMGO statements are clearly stated and highly congruent and aligned with the University policies and curricular activities of the Teacher Education Department programs.

Abstract

This research Studies “Health affliction and medical service of tea plantation women workers in Sri Lanka: An anthropological study based on Alton – 2021” This study focused on women workers in the tea plantation. This study problem highlights general health conditions of the women workers. The plantation management provides not quality of the medical specialties for the tea estate. Thereby most of the women workers are facing challenges to get proper medical services. Women workers more contributed for the economic sector in the Sri Lanka. Therefore the government should protect them. According to this study use primary and secondary data collection method, in short time; to selected sample size 12 from tea estate of Alton in Horana plantation. Women workers and health issues research relating women workers are suffering from fever, cough, cold, stomach pain, weakness, eye pain, headache, skin diseases, chest pain, asthma, breathing trouble, Hand pain , leg pain and Pregnancy. This study argues why they cannot get in correct way of the government medical service in the tea plantation. According to this issues, what are the problem are overcome. And provide good medical service and treatment for women worker in the tea plantation. Manage the situation to develop the hill country community. This is the way to research in this area. As well as I suggested some of the idea and commons in this problem. 12 samples were selected from a simple resource among the people belonging to 660 families living in study area and numerical and characteristic data on the conditions of the study area were read. This study concern research place situation to choice to use qualitative research method and used sample random sampling method to observed and read to get many idea and knowledge relevant the research problem to done this research. This research mainly focused what are different between nation and plantation medical service system. This research should be given the important for hill country community people. They are structurally different for other Sri Lankan community people. They are not receiving Sri Lanka welfare schemes in equally. According to this study provides a critical analysis and suggestions.

Abstract

Philippine art scene had never been more prolific than today. This study aims to be a groundwork for more studies about global contemporary art in the Philippines and how it can help shape the future curriculum of Fine Arts in the country. This study looked into the characteristics of global contemporary art in the Philippines through the professional artists’ and art students’ perspectives using qualitative research method. The research believes that global contemporary art promotes “unity in diversity” to unite nations as one big community sans nationality, color, race, or language. Once the phases of this study is complete, these will be significant to artists and art students who want to be guided on creating contemporary art that can compete globally, as well as academes to have a handy reference for creating global contemporary subjects following an outcomes based curriculum.

Abstract

Background: Residency training can render a wide variety of stressors that can affect the residents-in- training’s level of well-being and performance. Long hours of duty in the hospital together with physical and mental fatigue had become acceptable as these were believed to impart toughness to prepare physicians for a career in Medicine. This study was done to identify the stressors experienced by Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF) Medical Center residents-in- training using the Brief Job Stress Questionnaire. Likewise, the relationship between the stressors and the demographic profile of the resident was explored. Methods: This is a single-center descriptive cross-sectional study of all resident physicians of the FEU- NRMF Medical Center. The demographic data which includes age, sex, civil status, specialty training, and years in training were sought using a self-administered questionnaire. The stressors, stress reaction, social support, and job satisfaction of residents were identified using the Brief Job Stress Questionnaire (BSQ) which is a validated self-administered questionnaire used in Japan. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, presented in tables. The relationships between the stressors and demographic data were analyzed using chi-square and t-test. Results: The mean age of the residents-in-training who responded was 29-years old and the majority were females (71%) and single (85%). Mostly came from Internal Medicine training (23%) and were within the first three years of training (83%). The BSQ showed that the psychological stressors of resident-in-training were lack of meaningfulness of work (94%), skill under-utilization (90%), and unsuitable job (85%). In terms of stress reaction, mostly felt fatigued (65%), and anxious (32%). Residents-in-training social support came from their supervisors (86%) and co-workers (60%). Most of them were satisfied with their job (81%) and family life (78%). Among the different stressors, physical demand was the only variable significantly associated with sex (p-value, 0.015) and specialty (p-value, 0.004). Conclusion: The research was able to identify the different job stressors, stress reaction, social support, and satisfaction with job and family life of the residents-in-training in FEU-NRMF Medical Center. This will be a starting point in planning and creating programs that will help residents cope with the stress of residency training.

Abstract

Issues on plagiarism among pre-service teachers (PSTs) have increased in modular and online learning. To confirm this, the study determined the PSTs’ level of awareness on plagiarism; their knowledge on referencing and citation; and the correlation between their level of awareness on plagiarism and knowledge on referencing and citation, with their academic performance. The study employed a descriptive-correlational research design participated by 235 PSTs randomly sampled through strata. The data were gathered through a web-based survey. Results showed that the PSTs’ level of awareness of plagiarism was moderate, while the majority have fair knowledge in referencing and citation. Also, results showed a significant relationship among the level of awareness on plagiarism, knowledge on referencing and citation, and academic performance. It is recommended that institutions equip librarians and educators to teach PSTs about citation and referencing skills. Besides, the institution should make sure that a policy is implemented to pursue academic integrity. This policy must articulate the various types of plagiarism, plagiarism measurement, and fair and consistent disciplinary actions.

Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive fundamental-based value analysis of firms using Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Relative Valuation (RV) approaches. This study reveals how these approaches behave in valuing firms during a crisis such as the one caused by the current covid-19 pandemic and how to validate the results as well as correct them if the results was invalid. The object of the study is companies in the automotive and component sub-sector listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2020. The company's historical financial data between 2016 and 2020 are used to predict its financial behavior over the next five years under three scenarios: optimistic, moderate, and pessimistic. From the study employing the DCF method, the following results were obtained: ASII and INDS stocks were overvalued in all scenarios, GJTL were undervalued in all scenarios, and SMSM were overvalued in pessimist and moderate scenarios while undervalued in optimist scenario. Correction upon intrinsic values of SMSM and ASII is required since the result from RV analysis imply that the DCF results of both companies are not entirely valid, which indicates that the pandemic crisis has significantly affected the value of both companies. Investment recommendations for both ASII and INDS were to sell the stocks while for both SMSM and GJTL were to buy the stocks.

Abstract

This study analyzes the infodemic in the Philippines during the intense lockdowns during the early stages of the covid-19 pandemic. With the said lockdown, people are observed to be more present in social media. World Health Organization pronounced that "infodemic" poses a severe problem in public health. This article analyzes the fact-checked articles of Verafiles.Org, fact-checkers certified by non-partisan International Fact-Checking Network, during the first six months of covid-19 era. Using content analysis, the researcher examines the sources, claims, treatment, and access to the voice of Verafiles fact-checking articles. The researcher quantifies the variables and coded the data using the tables in order to obtain the findings of the study. Results show that most fact-checked "fake news" claims found in vera files.org are disinformation. It is also noted that Facebook and Youtube are the top platforms as a source of disinformation. The treatment of the fake information is usually done as facebook post or youtube video. It also found out that most of the claims are about Covid- 19 pandemic and political propaganda. Troll accounts, Facebook groups, pages, and websites supported Duterte, and even government officials listed as a source of "fake news."
