Abstract

Mastery of vocabulary is an important key in learning Arabic, because it plays a significant role in the development of four language skills (Maharoh Al-Lughawiyyah): listening (Maharoh Al-Istima'), reading (Maharoh Al-Qiroah), speaking (Maharoh Al-Kalam), and writing (Maharoh Al-Kitabah). However, the availability of printed books for Arabic subjects at MAN 2 Tegal is inadequate, and learning still uses conventional methods without the support of learning media. This condition causes low student understanding. To overcome these problems, this study aims to develop learning media based on valid, practical, and effective vocabulary e-modules. This study involved 128 students with a sample of 64 students in grades XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study showed that: (1) The vocabulary e-module was considered very valid by subject teachers, material validators, and media validators; (2) The level of practicality of the e-module based on student responses reached (90%), which was categorized as practical to very practical; (3) The effectiveness of the e-module is proven by the results of the Gain Score test with an average increase of 0.758, which is included in the high category. Thus, the Mufrodat e-module has the potential to be a solution to significantly improve students' understanding of Arabic.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyze a pedagogical literacy assessment instrument in the junior high school environment using the Rasch modeling. In this research, the development and analysis of the instrument involved an approach consisting of content, substantive, structural, and consequential aspects. The pedagogical literacy assessment instrument was developed based on ten teacher competency standards according to the Indonesian Ministry of National Education Regulation No. 16 of 2007, presented in the form of multiple-choice questions, totaling 60 items. This study is a Research and Development (RD) with a research design using ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research approach used is mixed methods, which combines both qualitative and quantitative forms. Data was collected from 122 teachers across four schools: SMPN 7 Tegal City, SMPN 14 Tegal City, SMPN 17 Tegal City, and SMPN 19 Tegal City. The results of data analysis using the Rasch model on R programming version 4.03 with the eRm package showed that 88% of the items were valid with a p-value 0.05. The validation results, which cover content, psychometrics, and constructs (content, substantive, structural, and external), met the requirements for being considered good items.

Abstract

This study uses English textbooks as the object of study. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which the contents of the English textbook "BRIGHT" for junior high school students meet the criteria based on Alan Cunningsworth. This study uses a qualitative approach with a data presentation analysis method, which compares the number of criteria met with the total number of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) evaluation criteria. The percentage of criteria met is calculated by dividing the number of criteria met by the total criteria, then multiplied by 100%. The results of the study indicate that the English textbook "BRIGHT" for grade VII junior high school meets various criteria, with the following details: the criteria for objectives and approaches obtained 90.62%, language content 90%, skills 89.70%, topics 90.52%, methodology 94.57%, teacher's book 0%, and practical considerations 100%. The average total score of the criteria met is 79.34%. This shows that the textbook "BRIGHT 1" is good enough to be used as a learning resource for students.

Abstract

The use of Indonesian in public spaces is an important issue in maintaining national identity in the era of globalization. This study aims to explore the role of the use of Indonesian in public spaces in increasing public awareness of national identity and language revitalization strategies. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. The populations in this study were people living in the city of Bandung. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 60 respondents, consisting of media actors, educators, and the general public. This study was conducted for six months, from January to June 2024. The results of the study show that although awareness of the importance of using Indonesian is high, there is inequality in the implementation of language policies in public spaces. The use of foreign languages, especially among the younger generation, affects the effectiveness of Indonesian revitalization. Therefore, a more holistic approach is needed in language revitalization, which involves public policy, culture-based education, and the use of digital technology. The implications of this study indicate the importance of strengthening more consistent language policies and integrating technology in learning Indonesian for the younger generation.

Abstract

Mathematical problem solving is a high-level thinking skill that needs to be developed in mathematics learning. However, there is a gap in the integration of logical-mathematical intelligence, mathematical connections, and learning interests holistically, because learning tends to focus more on memorization than contextual problem solving. This study aims to analyze the influence of logical-mathematical intelligence, mathematical connection ability, and learning interests on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This study uses a quantitative method with data analysis techniques using SPSS 23. The research locations include SD Negeri Bojong 01, SD Negeri Bojong 02, and SD Negeri Bojong 03 in Bojong District, Tegal Regency, with a population of all grade IV students and a sample of 124 respondents. The results of the study indicate that: (1) there is a significant influence between logical-mathematical intelligence and students' mathematical problem solving abilities; (2) there is a significant influence between mathematical connection ability and students' mathematical problem solving abilities; (3) there is a significant influence between learning interests and students' mathematical problem solving abilities; and (4) there is a significant simultaneous influence between logical-mathematical intelligence, mathematical connection ability, and learning interests on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach in mathematics learning to improve students' problem-solving abilities.
