Abstract

This service aims to provide knowledge and training in writing children's literature to PGMI IAIN Palangka Raya students. This community service was carried out in 5 meetings using lecture and writing workshop methods. Activities were held on May 29, 2023, May 31, 2023, June 6, 2023, June 12, 2023, and June 14, 2023, with 28 participants participating. The results obtained from this service show that using local wisdom ideas in the immediate environment is one way to develop writing skills. The result of this activity is the publication of an anthology/collection of children's literature stories by PGMI IAIN Palangka Raya students. Several types of local wisdom are raised, such as beliefs/myths that exist in Central Kalimantan society, community traditions, traditional games, traditional food, and traditional handicrafts. With this activity, it is hoped that it can improve students' writing skills, especially in writing fiction.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is essential for effective language learning and communication. This research investigates “the effect of canva based flashcards on the vocabulary mastery” of VII class students at MTs Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya. This research using quantitative methods and quasi-experimental design, with a sample of sixty students split into experimental class and control classes. The canva based flashcards only used in experimental class. Data was collect from the pretest- posttest and analyzed with a t-test. Pretest scores averaged 61.36 for experiment class and 69.29 for control class. Post test scores increased to 85.88 for experiment class, and 76.69 for control classes. The findings indicate a significant effect of canva-based flashcards on vocabulary mastery. Thus, that's possible be inferred that canva based flashcards effective in significantly increasing studentsvocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kearifan lokal yang ada dalam kumpulan cerpen Bacina Buta Karya Hatmiati Masy’ud. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data-data yang dikumpulkan berupa kata-kata, frasa, kalimat, dialog para tokoh dan paragraf yang berhubungan dengan kearifan lokal masyarakat Banjar. Pada proses analisis, data penelitian yang didapatkan akan dideskripsikan secara detail. Setelah proses analisis data, kegiatan terakhir adalah memberikan kesimpulan terhadap hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh data kearifan masyarakat Banjar dalam cerpen tersebut di antaranya, (1) tradisi membawa nyiru untuk mencari seseorang yang hilang karena disembunyikan oleh makhluk halus, (2) Kearifan lokal berwujud petuah atau pesan yang berupa larangan bagi anak gadis untuk jalan-jalan menjelang senja, (3) tradisi khatam Al-Quran dengan menggunakan payung kembang, (4) Kearifan lokal yang berupa perumpamaan dalam masyarakat Banjar, seperti kalaras karing, asa dikuracak bidawang talung puluh, dan disusuri buncu tapih.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan tentang pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam Antologi karya sastra anak berbasis kearifan lokal karya mahasiswa PGMI IAIN Palangka Raya.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, kalimat, dan dialog yang terdapat dalam Antologi yang berjudul Keajaiban Alam dalam Ramuan Spesial Buatan Ibu. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian adalah dengan melakukan pembacaan terhadap Antologi sastra anak Keajaiban Alam dalam Ramuan Spesial Buatan Ibu, mendata  semua kata-kata, frasa, kalimat, dialog dan paragraf yang berhubungan dengan nilai pendidikan karakter. Setelah data terkumpul, data akan dianalisis dan ditarik kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter dapat ditanamkan melalui budaya membaca karya sastra. Ada banyak nilai pendidikan karakter yang dapat diperoleh dari antologi karya sastra anak berbasis kearifan lokal karya mahasiswa PGMI IAIN Palangka Raya seperti nilai persahabatan untuk bekerja sama, solidaritas dan memiliki ketelitian untuk mencapai tujuan, nilai toleransi untuk menghormati dan menghargai kepercayaan orang lain, nilai cinta tanah air dengan mempertahankan, melaksanakan dan melestarikan tradisi dan hasil budaya yang ada di sekitar, nilai disiplin dan menghargai prestasi dengan bisa menyeimbangkan waktu antara bermain dan belajar, nilai cinta damai dengan tetap bersikap baik kepada mereka yang bersikap buruk, dan nilai jujur dengan tidak berbohong kepada orang tua.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the portrait of women, matchmaking and marriage in the novel After Wedding Agreement by Mia Chuz. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive method. The data collected in the form of words, phrases, sentences, dialogues of the characters and paragraphs related to the portrait of women on matchmaking and marriage. After the data is collected, the data will be analyzed using descriptive methods. In the analysis process, the research data obtained will be described in detail. After the data analysis process, the last activity is to provide conclusions on the research results. From the research that has been done, obtained data about the portrait of women in responding to matchmaking and marriage, including, (1) a wife who feels insecure about her husband's past, (2) A wife who has a forgiving nature towards her husband's mistakes in the household, (3 ) An independent woman, who has a business that was pioneered even before she got married, (4) A wife who is good at being grateful, trusting, and resigned to her destiny. In addition, the portrait of matchmaking and marriage depicted in Mia Chuz's novel After Wedding Agreement is a marriage based on Islam as it always reminds us of kindness and stays away from prejudice. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan potret perempuan, perjodohan dan pernikahan dalam novel After Wedding Agreement karya Mia Chuz. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data-data yang dikumpulkan berupa kata-kata, frasa, kalimat, dialog para tokoh dan paragraf yang berhubungan dengan potret perempuan terhadap perjodohan dan pernikahan. Setelah data terkumpul, data akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pada proses analisis, data penelitian yang didapatkan akan dideskripsikan secara detail. Setelah proses analisis data, kegiatan terakhir adalah memberikan kesimpulan terhadap hasil penelitian. Dari Penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperolehlah data tentang potret perempuan dalam menyikapi perjodohan dan pernikahan, diantaranya, (1) seorang istri yang merasa insecure terhadap masa lalu suaminya, (2) Seorang istri yang mempunyai sifat pemaaf terhadap kesalahan suami dalam rumah tangga, (3) Seorang perempuan yang mandiri, yang mempunyai usaha yang dirintis bahkan sebelum dia menikah, (4) Seorang istri yang pandai bersyukur, tawakal, dan pasrah akan takdir hidupnya. Selain itu, potret perjodohan dan pernikahan yang digambarkan dalam novel After Wedding Agreement karya Mia Chuz adalah pernikahan yang berlandaskan agama Islam seperti selalu mengingatkan dalam kebaikan dan menjauhkan diri dari prasangka.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the traditional game of the people of South Kalimantan called balogo in literary works. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data collected are in the form of words, phrases, sentences, dialogues of the characters and paragraphs related to the depiction of the traditional balogo game. After the data is collected, the data will be analyzed using descriptive methods. In the analysis process, the research data obtained will be described in detail. After the data analysis process, the last activity is to provide conclusions on research results. From the research that has been done, obtained research results about: (1) The shape of the logo in the form of an animal or other shapes such as the shape of a kite, (2) The interaction of the characters in playing balogo related to the process of playing the logo, (3) Messages from balogo game to be careful when hitting the logo so that the logo that is hit does not enter other people's pages, and (4) The existence of the balogo game for children divides the story into two groups, namely the East Antasan children's group who plays the logo and the children's group Western Antasan who is not interested in playing logoKeywords: Traditional Games; Balogo; Literary Works. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan permainan tradisional masyarakat Kalimantan Selatan yang bernama balogo dalam karya sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data-data yang dikumpulkan berupa kata-kata, frasa, kalimat, dialog para tokoh dan paragraf yang berhubungan dengan penggambaran permainan tradisional balogo. Setelah data terkumpul, data akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pada proses analisis, data penelitian yang didapatkan akan dideskripsikan secara detail. Setelah proses analisis data, kegiatan terakhir adalah memberikan kesimpulan terhadap hasil penelitian. Dari Penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil penelitian tentang: (1) Bentuk logo yang berbentuk binatang atau bentuk-bentuk lainnya seperti bentuk layang-layang, (2) Interaksi para tokoh dalam bermain balogo yang berkaitan dengan proses bermain logo, (3) Pesan dari permainan balogo agar berhati-hati dalam memukul logo agar logo yang dipukul tidak masuk halaman orang lain, dan (4) Eksistensi permainan balogo bagi anak-anak bagi dalam cerita yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok anak Antasan Timur yang memainkan logo dan kelompok anak Antasan Barat yang tidak tertarik bermain logo.Kata Kunci: Permainan Tradisional; Balogo; Karya Sastra.

Abstract

Language skills are crucial for communication and human learning, with vocabulary being essential for accurate writing, reading, and expression of view, and learning, especially for students. Research conducted by Ulinuha and Parnawati (2023) shows that students gave their perception that reading websites does not spend their time during learning and is very enjoyable because this provides meaningful experiences and more interesting than classroom activities. Departing from this, the researcher conducted further research on the influence of Google Sites on improving students’ vocabulary mastery. The participants of this study were 50 students from two different classes at MA Darul Ulum Palangka Raya (classes XI A and XI D). The experimental group was given treatment using Google Sites, while the control group was given treatment using the lecture method. In this study quasi-experimental design and quantitative methods were used. The average pretest score for the experimental class was 72.20, the average posttest score was 83.60. Meanwhile, the control group had an average pretest score of 74.00 and an average posttest score of 81.60. The experimental class's average achievement vulnerability improved by 11.4 points, compared to 7.6 points in the control class. The result shows that students found it easier to master vocabulary better by using Google Sites as a learning media and proves that treatment using Google Sites media can encourage students' excitement or interest in learning to achieve better results. The implication of the research was choosing the right learning media can affect students' learning achievement, especially in mastering vocabulary.

Abstract

This article explores the effect of collaborative learning strategies on students' narrative writing. A quasi-experimental study involving two groups showed that the experimental group (m=0.5), demonstrated a noteworthy enhancement on their writing abilities in contrast to the control group. This suggests that collaborative learning strategies enhance writing abilities and increase active participation in learning. The study emphasizes the importance of innovative and interactive learning strategies, especially in language teaching, for optimizing students' narrative writing abilities. The experimental class's average pre-test scores were 72.42, whereas the control groups were 65.67. Following therapy, the average scores of experimental class's roses to 86.13, while the control class's average was 79.33. The result revealed that the p-value (.000) is less than 0.05. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) uses statistical analysis with SPSS and t-test, shows a significant increase in narrative knowledge in the experimental group.

Abstract

The aim of this community service is to provide knowledge on writing pesantren literature and to assist in the final revision of pesantren works by the female students of MAS NIPI (Madrasah Aliyah Normal Islam Puteri) at Pondok Pesantren Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah. This community service was conducted in one meeting using lecture and discussion or Q&A methods. In the lecture method, the material on the basics of writing short stories is presented, along with an analysis of short stories written by the female students of MAS NIPI Ponpes Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah. Then, in the discussion or Q&A session, the focus is on the process of writing short stories and the works of the female students of MAS NIPI Ponpes Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah. The activity took place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with 30 participants in attendance. The results indicate that the pesantren literature produced by the female students of MAS NIPI Ponpes Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah meets the narrative elements but still needs to pay attention to linguistic rules.  During the activity, the female students were actively engaged. They asked questions about the writing challenges they faced and how to overcome them. The final outcome of this activity is the publication of an anthology/collection of pesantren literature created by the female students. The pesantren literature produced focuses on pesantren traditions, contains religious values, and portrays female figures as individuals with opportunities for education. It is hoped that this activity will foster the interest of female students in writing pesantren literature.

Abstract

This study uses English textbooks as the object of study. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which the contents of the English textbook "BRIGHT" for junior high school students meet the criteria based on Alan Cunningsworth. This study uses a qualitative approach with a data presentation analysis method, which compares the number of criteria met with the total number of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) evaluation criteria. The percentage of criteria met is calculated by dividing the number of criteria met by the total criteria, then multiplied by 100%. The results of the study indicate that the English textbook "BRIGHT" for grade VII junior high school meets various criteria, with the following details: the criteria for objectives and approaches obtained 90.62%, language content 90%, skills 89.70%, topics 90.52%, methodology 94.57%, teacher's book 0%, and practical considerations 100%. The average total score of the criteria met is 79.34%. This shows that the textbook "BRIGHT 1" is good enough to be used as a learning resource for students.
