Abstract

Many research studies have demonstrated the positive effects of utilizing u-dictionary as a learning media since this application is feasible to use, incredibly efficient, and has a variety of functions. U-Dictionary is one of the digital learning tools that are most compatible to use in a classroom setting that is entirely devoted to the study of vocabulary. This study aims to explore the impacts of u-dictionary learning media in teaching vocabulary as well as the opinions of students regarding the effectiveness of u-dictionary learning media in learning vocabulary. Subjects in the study consisted of forty-four students from two classes at STITMA that offer rigorous English instruction and are enrolled in Islamic education. The experimental group learned the target language through the use of u dictionary learning media, while the control group learned the same vocabulary using the more traditional method of instruction. Following the period of training, a vocabulary exam consisting of written questions on paper was given to both groups. As for the qualitative data, we acquired the students' viewpoints on u-dictionary through the use of a questionnaire, and brief interviews were employed as the method for collecting this information. The questionnaire was analyzed using the Likert scale, while the interview data was used to uncover new findings/phenomena from the study. The focus of the interviews was on the students' perspectives concerning the advantages and disadvantages of u-dictionary, as well as their suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of using u-dictionary as a learning environment. These insights were obtained from the students' vocabulary test results, as well as their opinions and anticipations regarding the usefulness of u-dictionary.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading comprehension ability of grade IV students of State Elementary School 007 Rimbo Panjang through the application of a Synergetic Teaching type cooperative learning model. This model provides students with the opportunity to learn collaboratively by comparing their understanding of the same material. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with two cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and interviews. The results showed that before the implementation of the Synergetic Teaching model, students' reading comprehension ability was relatively low with an average of 65.3%. After the first cycle, there was an increase to 73.3% (medium category). In the second cycle, the average score increased significantly to 86.1% (high category). In addition, observations show that student activity and engagement in learning also increase. The conclusion of this study is that the Synergetic Teaching type cooperative learning model is effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers apply this model in learning to read and understand and adapt it to other subjects to improve student learning outcomes

Abstract

Socioanthropology is a science that studies the characteristics and relationships between societies and their cultures. A nation's civilization is a reflection of the characteristics and relationships between these societies and their cultures. Culture itself serves as a nation's identity, encompassing human morals and reason. Maturity of thought and maturity in society, nation, and state are essential prerequisites for establishing relationships between societies and their characteristics. These can be described as the customs of local communities rooted in hundreds, even thousands of years. Since entering the reform era in 1998, democratic life in Indonesia has demonstrated a phenomenon rare in any other country in the world. This maturity of thought and maturity in society, nation, and state is also referred to as democratic life. Democracy will thrive if the characteristics and relationships between societies and their cultures are well-established; this combination of human morals and reason is called civil society. Indonesia has adopted multi-party democracy for the second time since its independence on August 17, 1945, with the establishment of 12 multi-party political parties. Since the reform era in May 1998, Indonesia has returned to liberal democracy with a multi-party system consisting of dozens of political parties. This contrasts with the US and the UK, the birthplaces of liberal democracy, which only have two political parties.

Abstract

Humans are monodualistic beings who have roles as individuals and social beings. As individuals, humans are given the intellect, thoughts, and feelings to develop themselves and meet their life needs independently. As social beings, humans live in society, nation, and state, so they need each other. In modern society, various organizations have emerged, including government organizations that according to the political trias consist of the legislature, executive, and judiciary. At the highest executive level there is a president, while at the village level there is a village head. The Village Head, who is democratically and traditionally elected, plays an extension of the community to regulate, maintain, and motivate residents in the development process. The success of village development is highly dependent on the leadership of the Village Head in mobilizing community participation. As God's creatures with the highest degree, humans have the responsibility as caliphs on earth to maintain the balance and continuity of life. In everyday life, the essence of human beings as individuals and social beings is obvious; When faced with difficulties, human beings need the help of others, while in personal affairs, they tend to maintain privacy as a form of individuality. This balance between individual and social roles is the basis for the progress of society, including at the village level, where cooperation between leaders and citizens is the key to the success of sustainable development.
