Abstract

This research conducts a comparative analysis of the factors contributing to the success of community-led carbon credit projects in Timor-Leste. Its aim is to provide insights into effective strategies for combatting climate change and empowering local communities. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, both qualitative and quantitative techniques were employed to assess critical success factors, such as community engagement, project governance, financing mechanisms, and environmental impact assessment. Diverse data collection methods were applied, including literature review, interviews with key stakeholders, surveys of local communities, document analysis, and field visits to project sites. The study emphasizes the importance of active community involvement, well-defined governance frameworks, accessible funding, and thorough environmental impact assessments for achieving successful project outcomes. Additionally, recommendations are offered to address challenges and enhance the scalability and sustainability of community-led carbon credit projects in Timor-Leste. This research contributes to the advancement of knowledge regarding best practices and lessons learned in community-led climate initiatives, with implications for policy, practice, and future research directions.

Abstract

This work aims to contribute to the study of traditional agro-forestry systems in Oecusse, describing them in terms of composition, social organization, and cultural techniques. Existing problems in the exploitation of these systems, their geographical location, and possible guidelines for the evolution of traditional agro-forestry systems are identified. An inquiry method through interviews with farmers about agro-forestry systems was employed. Official documents, particularly region maps, were consulted to study traditional agro-forestry systems in the Oecusse district. Agro-forestry systems in Oecusse are characterized by a limited production area, low productivity of cultivated species, random distribution of plants without organization in any type of lines or patterns, and component crops of the system requiring minimal cultural care. The two types of traditional agro-forestry systems in Oecusse can be classified into the categories of agro-silvo-pastoral, agro-silvicultural, and agro-silvo-livestock. There are 44 species represented in most traditional agro-forestry farms in the Oecusse district. The traditional agro-forestry systems in the Oecusse district with Sesbania grandiflora, belonging to the leguminous family, offer advantages such as improving soil fertility, increasing water retention capacity, serving as green forage for animals, and providing firewood for self-consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of vanilla production and sales on the welfare of the community in Suco Leimea Sorin Balu, Administrative Post Hatulia, Municipality of Ermera. The research method involves field surveys and data analysis to evaluate the relationship between vanilla production and the local community's well-being. The analysis results indicate that vanilla production and sales have a significant positive impact on community welfare, including increased income, access to public services, and economic empowerment. The implications of these findings are crucial in the context of local development and community economic empowerment. This study provides valuable insights into the economic contribution of vanilla to social well-being in the region.

Abstract

Consumers’ satisfaction were determined by the quality of expected products. There wher, quality warrantly that becomes the priority of every company, especially nowadays it becomes the basic measurement of competiveness superiority of every company. Gerson (2002) defines that consumers’ satisfaction is a consumers’ perception that their expectaion has been come true. According to Dutka (1994) there are several main factors affecting consumers’ satisfaction to a product, they are: price, quality, benefit, package, reliability of the product, and service offered by the company. This study aimed to determine the effects of simultaneously, partially, and dominantly of price, quality, benefit, and package factor affecting consumers’ satisfaction of Timor Organic Coffee. This study used 105 respondents of Timor Organic Coffee consumers. The data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results show that price, quality, benefit, and package factor simultanously affect significantly to consumers satisfaction of Timor Organic Coffee. The linear regression equation formed is: Y = - 1.975 + 0.190 X1 + 0.095 X2 + 0.415X3 + 0.462X4 + e ( R square = 0,914) the value of determination coefficient (R square) = 0.914 meaning that independent variable can explain consumers’ satisfaction as many as 91.4%, whereas the revenue is other variables which are not included in this study. Price, benefit, and package factor partially affect positively and significantly to consumers’ satisfaction, and quality factor partially does not affect significantly to consumers’ satisfaction. Based on regression coefficient, it is got that package variable has a high value so that package factor becomes the dominant factor affecting consumers’ satisfaction of Timor Organic Coffee.

Abstract

Arabica coffee is the most critical plantation product for Timor-Leste. It is sold on regional, national and international markets to provide income and foreign exchange to rural areas. This study aims to analyze the sustainability of coffee cultivation from an economic perspective. Specifically, we compared the income levels of certified and non-certified coffee farmers and the level of participation in farmer group activities between certified and non-certified coffee farmers. We achieved this through Arabica coffee growers (Coffea Arabica L.). Analyze the indirect benefits. The research site was selected by purposive Sampling, considering that most of the livelihoods of residents in the region are coffee farmers. The study was conducted from July to December 2022. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The number of samples used was 180 respondent farmers calculated using the Slovin formula so that the number of pieces for certified and non-certified farmers in each region was 30 people, with the sampling technique used purposive Sampling. The analytical method used in this study is qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The data processing method is performed by tabulation and classification on Microsoft Excel software. The results show that the income of certified coffee growers is higher than that of uncertified households. The income obtained by certified coffee farmers amounted to $748.03 per hectare, and B/C amounted to 1.57 for the participation rate. Certified coffee farmers are more active in group activities than non-certified ones, with the highest participation rate in the Ermera district area. Indirect revenue obtained by coffee farmers comes from the value of carbon storage, with an average contribution value ranging from $85.28-98.90 or equivalent to 54.35-82.92% of the total revenue per hectare

Abstract

Pet sitting services are one of the best solutions for the majority of Indonesian people who have pets but are forced to travel long distances and it is not possible to bring their pets with them. This is seen as a good business opportunity by the owner of Juanda Petshop. However, in carrying out business processes so far they still use manual recording which sometimes causes losses both in terms of material and customer trust. This application is in the form of a website created using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), PHP and HTML programming languages and MySQL database. The development method used is waterfall. The stages in the waterfall method are Requirement Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing and Maintenance. This application was developed using observation and interview methods. The results of this research are based on application testing accompanied by a testing process using black box and white box as well as a validation process to obtain data samples that can be concluded that the application runs reliably and accurately based on its function to improve service to customers to be faster and more accurate thereby increasing customer satisfaction and trust against Juanda Petshop.

Abstract

Pembelian impulsif adalah pembelian suatu barang yang tidak rasional dan biasanya dilakukan tanpa perencanaan. Di era serba teknologi dan internet membuat kegiatan belanja menjadi mudah, yaitu berbelanja secara online. Pergeseran kegiatan ini merubah kebiasaan masyarakat, khususnya remaja putri. Menjamurnya online shopping membuat fenomena impulsive buying menjadi meningkat. Tinjauan literatur diperlukan agar dapat merangkum secara deskriptif. Pencarian artikel ilmiah dengan menggunakan kata kunci “impulsive buying” “impulsive buying behavior” dalam rentang tahun 2013- 2023. Kemudian diperoleh 10 artikel ilmiah sesuai krieria dan dianalisis. Hasil tinjauan literatur menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan faktor-faktor intenal individu seperti self-control, karakteristik individu, mindfulness, kepribadian, dan sebagainya.

Abstract

Statistical data mentioned by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020 globally an estimated 379 million people are affected by mental disorders, there are 264 million people who suffer depression, 45 million people suffer from bipolar disorder, 50 million people suffer dementia and 20 million people of whom suffer from schizophrenia. According to data published by the Mental Health Program, Ministry of Health Timor-Leste in 2020 reported 2,015 patients with mental disturbance conducted regular treatment at Health Centers and Hospitals, the majority of women with 1,078 patients and 973 of men. According to the prevalence report by the Health Services of the Municipality of Liquiça in 2021, reported a total of 821 people (337 men, 484 women) were registered. With a total of 399 people who received treatment at the health facilities, consisting of 174 men and 225 of women. According to the data of mental disorders patients by the Liquiça Health Center in 2022 with total registered patients were 118 people composed 46 men and 72 women. Based on the results of the research of 44 respondents on the relationship between the level of knowledge and the support of the family to the schizophrenia patient, it shows that the level of knowledge (knowing and understanding) with the good category 15 (34.1%), sufficient 17 (38.6%) and menus 12 (27.3%). Moreover, the supports of the family with the category good 13 (30.0%), sufficient 20 (45.5%) and menus 11 (25.0%). There is a strong relationship between the level of knowledge and the support of the family to the schizophrenia patient with the result of the Spearman Rank statistical test with SPSS version 20.0 with the significant coefficient p=0.000 means menus of 0.05 with the strong correlation coefficient between the level of knowledge and support of the family with the value r=0.670 with a strong relationship.Knowledge level

Abstract

The lactation period is a natural process that occurs in mothers who have already given birth. During this period, it is not easy for mothers, as they need to have good knowledge in the process of providing exclusive breastfeeding. The high-quality protein and nutrition in maternal milk are crucial for providing newborn babies aged 0-6 months. According to data from the Ministry of Health (MoH), the prevalence of mothers who provide exclusive breastfeeding to their babies during the first few months decreased from 62.3% in 2013 to 50.2% in 2016, then increased to 64.2% in 2020. Meanwhile, the prevalence of babies consuming formula milk decreased from 50% in 2016 to 32.1% in 2020. This research aims to identify the factors influencing mothers to provide exclusive breastfeeding to babies aged 0-6 months at the Becora Community Health Center in Dili, in the year 2023. The researcher employs an analytical quantitative method with a cross-sectional study approach for this research. The bivariate analysis results show an influence between knowledge and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding based on the Chi-Square statistical analysis with a p-value of 0.00<0.05, and the Kendall's tau-b analysis indicates a result of 0.69, suggesting a strong influence between maternal knowledge and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding to babies. The Chi-Square statistical analysis results between maternal attitude and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding indicate a p-value of 0.05<0.05, and the contingency coefficient analysis shows a result of 0.21, suggesting a weaker influence between maternal attitude and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding. There is a strong influence between maternal knowledge and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding, and there is also a weaker influence between maternal attitude and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Dalam suatu hubungan, terdapat tolak ukur kepuasan. Suatu hubungan yang dapat memuaskan akan berdampak pada hubungan yang sehat, sedangkan pasangan yang tidak puas akan mengalami perpisahan. Komunikasi merupakan aspek penting dalam suatu hubungan. Beberapa penelitian beranggapan bahwa ponsel dapat memicu masalah komunikasi sehingga konflik antarpasangan akan muncul yang pada akhirnya akan mengurangi kualitas hubungan yang mereka rasakan. Fenomena pengabaian terhadap pasangan karena ponsel disebut juga sebagai partner phubbing. Perilaku phubbing yang dilakukan oleh pasangan dapat menjadi faktor menurunnya kepuasan hubungan bagi penerimanya. Namun, hasil mengenai efek partner phubbing terhadap kepuasan hubungan masih belum mencapai kesepakatan. Tujuan dari literature review ini adalah mendalami lebih lanjut mengenai hubungan antara partner phubbing dan kepuasan hubungan pada individu yang sedang menjalani hubungan romantis. Dalam penelusuran artikel, digunakan enam database elektronik internasional dengan memasukkan beberapa kata kunci. Berdasarkan literature review, didapatkan bahwa partner phubbing dapat menjadi faktor menurunnya kepuasan hubungan.
