Abstract

The phenomenon regarding Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) concerns the government in empowering their abilities after returning from working abroad. One non-governmental organization that houses the former PMI is the Association of Retired Workers and Families (PERTAKINA). The members who are former PMI are empowered in PERTAKINA organizational activities. There are organizational problems, namely the members' dissatisfaction with the management, which causes tension between the management and members. This research aims to find, understand and analyze the dialectics of the relationship between PERTAKINA and its members in organizational activities and to find the right relational communication model for PERTAKINA in organizational activities. This study uses Relational Dialectic Theory (RDT) to analyze these problems. The method used is a case study, with data collection techniques through interviews with PERTAKINA management and members and observation techniques in completing research data. The findings in the study indicate that members have dissatisfaction and distrust of the management, which causes tension in organizational activities. However, the members were reluctant to convey this openly to the organization's management, so it only became a conversation behind the management's back. Based on these findings, it becomes a new element in the relationship pole, namely tolerance as an element for Relational Dialectic Theory.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of corporate governance and audit quality on trusted financial reports through financial distress. The analytical tool used in this study is the Structual Equation Model (SEM) with Partial Least Square (PLS), while the sample used in this study is 68 BUMN Holding business units in Indonesia. The research respondents were auditors who had experience in auditing BUMN Holdings. The results of the study show that corporate governance has a positive effect in encouraging the creation of trusted financial reports. Corporate governance has no significant effect in encouraging the creation of BUMN Holding financial distress in Indonesia. Audit quality has a positive effect in encouraging the creation of trusted financial reports. Audit quality has a positive effect on financial distress. Financial distress has a negative effect on trusted financial reports. This research provides insight into the field of financial risk management research. The insignificant relationship between corporate governance and financial distress is an important finding, because most previous studies have concluded that corporate governance variables have a direct effect on financial distress, both positive and negative. Given the complexity of the relationship between corporate governance and financial distress, more in-depth further research can be conducted to explain in more detail why this relationship is not significant. Qualitative approaches such as case studies, interviews or comparative analysis can be used to gain deeper insight into the context and mechanisms underlying these findings

Abstract

Article 412 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code regulates cohabitation or cohabitation. It reads: any person living together as husband and wife outside of marriage shall be punished with a maximum imprisonment of six months or a maximum fine of category II. Previously, cohabitation had not been regulated and only existed in the new Criminal Code. Its presence is to absorb the social, cultural and religious realities that exist in Indonesian society. So what was possible when we were in the village, classifying living together without marriage ties as something that is, say, inappropriate or reprehensible, in the new Criminal Code is trying to criminalize it. In a number of indigenous and tribal peoples, this kind of provision actually already exists. For example, in Bali there is something called lokika sanggraha

Abstract

The conflict that occurred between Indonesia and Timor-Leste (Timor Timur) after the Popular Consultation was a conflict of power or a power struggle. This power struggle resulted in gross human rights violations. To resolve this conflict, in 2005 the Indonesian Timor-Leste Truth and Friendship Commission (KKP) was formed. Researchers assume that language can be used in conflict resolution. So the aims of this study are (1) to reveal the meaning of the text in Per Memoriam Ad Spem in constructing human rights violations in Timor-Leste in 1999, before and after the Popular Consultation. (2) Explaining the power of language in the construction of reports on human rights violations and conflict resolution in Per Memoriam Ad Spem, so that an agreement is reached that should not be forgiven to be forgiven. Van Dijk's discourse theory, Derrida's theory of deconstruction, and Bourdieu's theory of language & power, all three are related to language and power. These three theories are used as a basis for dissecting the phenomenon of this research. This study uses a critical constructionism paradigm, a type of qualitative research, and an interpretive approach. The findings of this study are that the strength of the Indonesian language as the primary working language has a very extraordinary impact. Textually, in the macro, meso, and micro dimensions, through language, political communication has been constructed which leads to the establishment of reconciliation between parties in power, which should deconstruct human rights violations. The parties with their power discourse can melt down, so that gross violations of human rights, which should not be forgiven, become forgiven. This is in line with Derrida's idea of true forgiveness or unconditional forgiveness, namely forgiving the unforgivable
