Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology through technical training programs designed to enhance basic skills among early childhood students at RA Darussalam 009. As education enters the era of digital transformation, integrating AI tools in early childhood learning has become increasingly relevant to support cognitive, motor, and language development. The technical training involved both educators and parents to ensure the effective adoption of AI-based applications in daily learning activities. The findings indicate that interactive AI media, when used appropriately, significantly improve early literacy and numeracy skills while fostering student engagement and motivation. This initiative also strengthens the digital competencies of teachers and encourages active parental involvement in children’s learning processes. The research concludes that AI-assisted learning, supported by structured training, holds great potential in advancing the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

Penang’s mounting plastic pollution and limited landfill space coincide with precarious livelihoods for Indonesian migrant workers. This community-empowerment initiative trains migrants to convert plastic waste into income-generating micro-enterprises. Participants master the full chain—from organising door-to-door collection routes and safe household sorting to operating low-cost shredding units and baling plastics for bulk sales to recycling plants. Cooperative governance and basic cost tracking ensure transparent profit sharing and long-term viability. Early results show substantial diversion of recyclable plastics from landfills, measurable cuts in projected greenhouse-gas emissions, and higher monthly earnings for more than fifty migrant households. Shared ownership of collection and shredding operations also strengthens social cohesion and community resilience. The scalable model demonstrates how linking practical waste handling to locally rooted business activities can advance circular-economy goals, improve migrant livelihoods, and foster sustained environmental stewardship in Penang and comparable underserved settings.

Abstract

The increase in workplace accidents among migrant workers in Pinang, Malaysia, is alarming, with reports indicating a significant rise in injuries, particularly in the construction sector. The low implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) standards contributes to this issue, as many workers lack adequate training and face unsafe working conditions, leading to higher risks of accidents. Many migrant workers do not receive sufficient Occupational Health and Safety (K3) training before starting their jobs, leaving them unaware of potential hazards and safety protocols. The construction sector often exposes workers to hazardous environments, including inadequate personal protective equipment (PPE) and non-compliance with safety standards. Through community service efforts by a team of Civil Engineering lecturers from Universitas Mercu Buana, who possess expertise and OHS certification, it is hoped that a safer and healthier working environment will be created for Indonesian migrant workers in Pinang, Malaysia. After the outreach and training sessions, a total of 21 participants (construction workers) shared their opinions about the PKM KLN activity, in which they rated the level of expectation (importance) at 77% and performance (satisfaction) at 81%.

Abstract

The community service program, titled “Software Engineering Training: Multimedia for Creating Digital Video Profiles for Srengseng Sawah Urban Village Office,” aimed to enhance the digital communication skills of local government officials and residents through training in multimedia software. This initiative addressed several key issues in Kelurahan Srengseng Sawah, including the lack of digital media skills, the absence of engaging video profiles, and insufficient use of technology in public service communication. The program was implemented in five steps: identifying needs, conducting workshops, producing videos, creating training materials, and providing post-training mentoring. Participants learned through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in digital storytelling, videography, video editing, and content publishing. They also explored AI editing tools and how to share their videos online, enabling them to create professional-looking profiles that showcase the village's identity and services. The outcomes included the production of official digital content, improved skills for participants, and the development of training materials for future use. In summary, this initiative demonstrates how hands-on training can enhance digital skills and promote transparency in community communication.

Abstract

This community service project aimed to address two critical challenges hindering the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kembangan Selatan, Jakarta: weak branding and unstructured financial reporting. Through a structured program of training, workshops, and mentoring, we equipped 35 MSME owners with strategies for effective digital branding, including social media marketing and visual identity development. Concurrently, we provided practical training on preparing simple financial statements in accordance with the Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards for MSMEs (SAK EMKM), utilizing user-friendly digital tools. The program's effectiveness was evaluated through pre- and post-activity questionnaires, which showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, with average scores rising to between 3.23 and 3.63 on a 4-point scale. The initiative successfully produced multiple outputs, including video documentation, media publications, and intellectual property rights. Furthermore, it actively involved students, supporting the national "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" (MBKM) or "Independent Learning" program. The results demonstrate that a holistic approach combining branding and financial literacy intervention can significantly enhance the competitiveness and operational sustainability of local MSMEs. This model offers a replicable framework for academic institutions seeking to contribute to local economic development.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains a global health challenge, particularly among individuals in their productive years, including factory workers. According to UNAIDS (2024), approximately 39 million people aged 15-49 live with HIV, directly affecting the labor sector (UNAIDS, 2024). In industrial settings, workers often face vulnerabilities such as long working hours, high mobility, varied education levels, and limited access to health information-factors that increase their risk of HIV infection. This study aims to explore the job satisfaction of workers living with HIV/AIDS within the industrial sector. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research was conducted with 10-15 workers at a textile factory in Tangerang, selected through purposive sampling. The study focuses on understanding the experiences and perceptions of these workers regarding job satisfaction and the influencing factors. Findings reveal that job satisfaction among workers living with HIV/AIDS is strongly influenced by social and structural factors, including social support and workplace policies. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the need for safety and social acceptance is essential before individuals can achieve self-actualization in their work. Furthermore, Erving Goffman’s stigma theory explains how being HIV-positive can become a source of social pressure, hindering active participation in the workplace unless the work environment consciously addresses stigma and discrimination. The study recommends that companies implement more inclusive and proactive workplace policies. Suggested strategies include regular HIV/AIDS education, provision of Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) services, enforcement of non-discrimination policies, formation of internal support groups. Collaborative efforts among companies, co-workers, and the individuals themselves are essential to creating a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment for all, including those living with HIV/AIDS.
