Abstract

The National Nursing Competency Examination (UKOM) is a crucial requirement for obtaining a Registration Certificate (STR) for professional nursing practice in Indonesia. Despite its importance, many nursing students face challenges in preparing for the exam, particularly in understanding case-based questions, applying critical thinking, and accessing effective learning support. This community service program aimed to improve students’ readiness for UKOM by implementing a digital-based training and guidance strategy using the Ruang Ukom application at the Nursing Department of Jambi University. A blended learning approach was employed, combining face-to-face sessions, small group mentoring, and independent practice using the application. The Ruang Ukom platform featured interactive case-based questions, real-time feedback, exam simulations, and learning progress tracking. A total of 86 students participated, divided into intervention and mentoring groups. Quantitative analysis showed a significant increase in knowledge scores, with the mean pre-test score of 104.84 rising to 160.22 in the post-test. The intervention also enhanced students’ confidence, exam readiness, and critical thinking skills. The program encouraged digital transformation in academic guidance and demonstrated that integrating technology into nursing education can effectively support competency development. This model has potential for broader application and sustainability in preparing future nursing graduates for professional certification.

Abstract

The degradation of mangrove areas is often caused by human activities such as timber exploitation, conversion of mangrove areas into roads, bridges, and residential settlements, as well as natural environmental changes. Youtefa Bay Nature Tourism Park is a conservation area characterized by stunning natural landscapes, extensive coastlines, mangrove forests, lowland tropical forests, and a rich marine ecosystem. if managed properly, the area holds great potential to generate substantial benefits for the surrounding communities. However, the current reality on the ground reveals that the management of the area remains fragmented and poorly planned. This uncoordinated approach has contributed to various environmental problems within the conservation area. Mangrove forests are among the most strategic coastal ecosystems. In Indonesia, the total area of mangrove forests continues to decline annually, primarily due to land-use changes for housing and the development of various infrastructure projects. This community engagement activity aimed to contribute to the conservation of mangrove forests in Youtefa Bay Nature Tourism Park. The initiative was carried out on October 18-19th 2023, by the Forum Manjemen Indonesia (FMI). The planting method used was the single planting technique. The mangrove planting event was successfully conducted and received appreciation from various stakeholders, particularly government representatives and lecturers from the Forum Manajemen Indonesia. To maximize the ecological function of this conservation area, it is crucial to ensure the ongoing preservation of its mangrove forests. One concrete effort undertaken is the reforestation of mangrove areas through collaborative action. this community services were part of a series of program organized by FMI in Papua and was designed to support mangrove ecosystem rehabilitation while enhancing the roles of local communities, academic institutions, and government bodies in environmental conservation.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and rapidly changing technology, the role of entrepreneurship is increasingly important to create innovation, create jobs, develop infrastructure, and improve people's welfare. In the Indonesian economy, entrepreneurship can be one of the answers to encourage economic growth. Abstract

The massive spread of hoaxes through social media has become a serious challenge in Indonesia, as it not only disrupts individual understanding but also threatens social harmony and legal certainty. This community service program, organized by the Women’s Empowerment Forum (FPPI) Bali Province, aimed to raise public awareness of the dangers of hoaxes while providing legal knowledge regarding the consequences faced by those who disseminate false information. The program was carried out through a combination of legal counselling and participatory communication campaigns with a local cultural approach. The legal counselling materials included the regulatory framework governing hoaxes, their social impacts, and strategies for early detection and prevention. Meanwhile, the communication campaign utilized posters, infographics, digital content, as well as cultural expressions such as traditional poetry (pantun) and Balinese performing arts, making the legal messages easier to understand and more engaging. Participants, consisting of women, youth, students, and community leaders, were actively involved in discussions, simulations, and group campaigns. The results of the program indicated an increased understanding among participants regarding the legal implications of spreading hoaxes and improved ability to identify misleading information in the digital sphere. This program demonstrates that participatory community-based strategies, when combined with legal literacy and cultural communication, can strengthen both digital awareness and social resilience against hoaxes. The initiative also reflects the role of higher education institutions in fulfilling the Tri Dharma of universities through legal education, community empowerment, and the promotion of responsible digital citizenship.

Abstract

In practice, the management of fixed assets in public schools is still limited to recording by the Education Office. Schools are not required to manage assets independently, but are only tasked with reporting additional assets obtained through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for Physical Education and BOS Funds. However, the recording of assets sourced from Central Government Assistance Expenditure has not been fully carried out, although the amount is quite large every year. This has the potential to pose a risk of data overlap, corruption, or loss of assets. In addition, asset registration by the Education Office using an asset recording application has not been accompanied by an adequate verification process, only based on the results of reconciliation between the school and the Accounting Division of the Financial Agency. To improve the governance of fixed assets in schools, this community service program (PKM) aims to assist SD Negeri Inpres Yoka Pantai, Heram District, Jayapura City in conducting asset inventory by compiling a Room Inventory Card (KIR). Activities include providing understanding of asset management and assistance in the asset inventory process in each school room. The conclusion that can be made from the School Asset Administration Assistance activity through the Preparation of KIR at SD Negeri Inpres Yoka Pantai Heram District, Jayapura City is to increase the knowledge and understanding of school asset managers, in this case the principal who is assisted by teachers in managing school assets, which increasing the school's awareness of the importance of asset management and the formation of an orderly administrative culture.

Abstract

The dense population in a residential area often faces a high risk of fire. The main factor, apart from the dense population, is also due to limited access to fire extinguishers and vulnerable environmental conditions. A simple and effective solution to handle small fires before they spread widely is to use APAR (light fire extinguishers). This Community Engagement (Community service) activity aims to increase awareness and skills among residents in the use of APAR, so that they can better prepare for potential fires. This Community service was carried out in a densely populated area in the Duri Pulo sub-district, Central Jakarta. The Community service method was carried out through counseling and direct training on how to use APAR. At the end of this activity, 10 APAR units were handed over from the COMMUNITY SERVICE FTKE Trisakti University Team to Karang Taruna DuriPulo to be distributed and installed in strategic locations within the area.

Abstract

Global Marketing Strategy Management for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Developing Countries, Specifically Malaysia and Indonesia, plays a crucial role in supporting the economic growth of both nations. Malaysia, with its diverse ethnic composition—including Malays, Chinese, and Indians—and the establishment of the National Entrepreneur and SME Development Council (NESDC) in 2004, has successfully fostered MSME growth, achieving an average annual growth rate of 4.9%. On the other hand, Indonesia, which has the largest number of MSMEs in the world, contributing up to 60% of its GDP, also shows immense potential in this sector. However, there is a notable gap in practical understanding of marketing strategies and pricing decisions within MSMEs, particularly in academic settings in Malaysia, as observed at Lincoln University College (LUC). This research aims to provide a deeper insight into the implementation of MSME marketing strategies in Indonesia and Malaysia, and to develop a textbook that can serve as a guide for students in determining pricing and marketing strategies for new ventures. The activities include delivering material on marketing strategies in both countries and preparing a textbook that explores the aspects of marketing and pricing in depth. Expected outcomes include the publication of scholarly articles, educational videos, and a textbook that can serve as a reference for MSME development. Through this initiative, it is expected that students at LUC will enhance their knowledge of MSMEs in both countries and gain an understanding of the differences and similarities in marketing strategies implemented in Indonesia and Malaysia.
