Abstract

This study analyzes public satisfaction with population administration services in the Banyuresmi District using Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory (EDT). The research model examines the influence of expectation (EX), performance perception (PK), and confirmation/disconfirmation (KD) on satisfaction (KP) using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that confirmation/disconfirmation serves as the primary mediator in the relationship between expectation and satisfaction and between performance perception and satisfaction. Performance perception has the most significant impact on satisfaction compared to initial expectations. These findings suggest improving service quality, speed, and transparency can enhance public satisfaction. However, this study has limitations, including a restricted research area and a quantitative approach that has not explored the subjective aspects of user experience. Future research should conduct comparative studies in multiple regions, use qualitative methods, and incorporate external variables such as government regulations and digital literacy to gain a more comprehensive understanding. Thus, this study provides a foundation for improving policies and enhancing the quality of population administration services.

Abstract

Teenagers are an asset and the next generation of the nation, where the future of the nation and state for the future is in their hands. For this reason, it is crucial and inevitable to pay attention to the condition of teenagers today, including their health, specifically regarding reproductive health. Anemia and reproductive health are two things that cannot be separated when talking about adolescent health to prepare them to become a generation that will also have children. It is hoped that the long chain of the stunting phenomenon can be slowly reduced and even broken by preparing the current generation to become a generation that is ready and healthy both physically and physically. Community service activities with the theme of youth education about anemia and reproductive health in Rancakalong Village and Pamekaran Village involved 53 participants consisting of young women with sociodemographic characteristics of early teens and late teens, with junior and senior high school education. The activity results showed an increase in young women's knowledge about anemia and reproductive health, where based on the post-test results, an average score of 88.4 ± 5.6 was obtained from the pre-test results of 59.5 ± 12.6. Thus, it can be concluded that educational activities are significantly useful in increasing young women's knowledge in Rancakalong and Pamekaran villages about anemia and reproductive health.

Abstract

Addressing stunting in Indonesia has of course become a government priority, but if it's just the government itself, it's certainly not enough. An active and participatory role from all stakeholders is a necessity in overcoming stunting, because it is not enough just to involve policies, direct intervention actions in the community to raise awareness and increase awareness must also be carried out. Preventive measures to prevent additional stunting from occurring both quantitatively and qualitatively, and curative measures to assist communities who are suspected of having the potential or even indications of stunting to minimize the resulting risks. For this reason, UKI is present through community service activities at the UKI Faculty of Medicine in the Active Participation movement to Eliminate Stunting Towards a Healthy Indonesia called PkM PARIPURNA. The focus locations (loci) for the activity targets are seven villages in Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency, West Java with core activities centered at the Rancakalong District Health Center including General Post, IGD Post, KIA Post, and Farmas Post with types of activities in the form of examination services, treatment, education and training. Activities will be carried out from May to August 2023 with a team consisting of lecturers and young doctors from the UKI Faculty of Medicine. The PkM activities were carried out well and received an extraordinary response from the community in seven villages in Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency. From the results of examination service activities, data was obtained that the majority of people suffer from non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, gout, and others, while for children it is dominated by fever, cough, and diarrhea. Educational activities regarding balanced nutrition for pregnant women and toddlers were also carried out well, there was an increase in participants' knowledge about various information regarding the prevention and management of stunting. It was concluded that the active participation movement to eliminate stunting towards a healthy Indonesia could be a priority choice because it is very effective and has great benefits for society.

Abstract

A program to educate rubber farmers on the use of chemicals with B3 impacts has been implemented in Panca Desa Banyuasin I by Serasan University. The program aimed to increase farmers' awareness and knowledge of the dangers of hazardous chemicals and encourage the adoption of more environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Several rubber farmers participated in extension and training that included materials on chemical management, organic fertilizer use, and environmentally friendly farming. The results of the activities showed that farmers' level of understanding of the materials improved significantly. However, farmers still need further guidance to completely abandon the use of chemicals. Initial changes in farming practices are starting to be seen, where farmers are starting to reduce direct contact with chemicals and consider organic alternatives. This activity is having a positive impact in minimizing health and environmental risks in Panca Desa Banyuasin I. However, to ensure sustainability, further assistance, financial support, and strengthening of policies related to environmentally friendly agricultural practices are needed.

Abstract

This community service initiative addresses the critical need for employee agility among 27 tedung craftsmen in Mengwi, Badung, Bali, whose traditional skills are challenged by evolving market demands. Recognizing that demographic factors such as gender, age, education, and work experience significantly influence agility in these crafts, this project aimed to enhance adaptability through targeted empowerment and capacity-building workshops. The objective was to bolster the craftsmen’s responsiveness to market conditions, customer needs, and technological changes while fostering a community-wide model of cross-generational skill exchange. The methodology employed participatory action research, engaging craftsmen through structured workshops focusing on adaptability in customer interactions, agility in market responses, and digital skill acquisition. The community-based approach emphasized experiential learning and skill mentorship, allowing younger craftsmen to integrate traditional techniques with modern agile practices. Data was gathered through pre-test and post-test assessments, evaluating agility across ten dimensions, including responsiveness, innovation in management skills, and decision-making autonomy. The results demonstrated substantial improvements across all dimensions of workforce agility, with notable gains in customer responsiveness and adaptability to market fluctuations. Mean scores for agility indicators shifted significantly from pre-intervention levels, underscoring the effectiveness of community-centered training in enhancing adaptability. For instance, scores related to responsiveness to changing customer needs and market conditions doubled, indicating that craftsmen could better align their practices with consumer expectations and external market shifts. Additionally, cross-generational mentoring promoted the sharing of traditional skills alongside agile competencies, ensuring sustainability in the tedung craft sector. These findings highlight the potential of participatory training to bridge agility gaps in traditional communities, offering a replicable model for enhancing adaptability in other craftsmen sectors. The project’s success demonstrates that community-focused agility interventions can sustain traditional crafts by aligning them with contemporary market demands. Future initiatives could expand on this foundation by incorporating advanced technical training and exploring broader applications in diverse cultural settings, thus fostering resilience in traditional craftsmanship amid modern economic landscapes.

Abstract

The Advanced Independent Workforce (AIW) program plays a pivotal role in facilitating the development of micro and small enterprises in Indonesia. Nonetheless, various challenges, including inconsistent mentorship and limited evaluation mechanisms, impede its overall effectiveness. In response to these issues, a Dual Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) system was implemented to enhance the role of AIW mentors. This system comprises one-on-one meetings aimed at delivering personalized guidance, as well as onsite monitoring and evaluation to assess real-time business progress and operational challenges. This initiative was executed across multiple provinces in Indonesia, engaging mentors, mentees, and relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that the DME system significantly enhances mentor effectiveness, bolsters business sustainability, and improves problem-solving capabilities. The one-on-one meetings afforded structured feedback and capacity-building opportunities for mentors, while onsite evaluations facilitated direct observation and timely interventions for mentees. The integration of direct engagement and field-based evaluation not only strengthened mentorship strategies but also increased mentee confidence and promoted adaptive business practices. This study underscores the importance of a structured mentoring model in workforce development and recommends the expansion of DME coverage, the incorporation of digital tools, and the development of standardized evaluation metrics. This approach presents a scalable model for analogous economic empowerment programs, thereby ensuring sustainable mentorship and the success of enterprises.

Abstract

Land disputes are a complex issue that frequently occurs in Serdang Bedagai Regency, rooted in unclear ownership status, overlapping certificates, and improper transfer of rights. These issues not only cause material losses but also trigger social tensions in the community. The problem faced by the community is a lack of understanding of the mediation process as a more effective and efficient alternative dispute resolution compared to litigation. People tend to choose the court route, which is time-consuming, expensive, and can worsen relations between parties. To address these problems, legal counseling activities were conducted in Pematang Kuala Village through a collaboration between the community service team of the Indonesian Community Development University (UPMI), Ismayani and Partners Legal Consultants, and media partner sinarsergai.com. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, and presentations of real-life case studies. The material covered the legal basis for mediation based on Law No. 30 of 1999 and Perma No. 1 of 2016, the stages of the mediation process, the role of mediators, and the advantages of mediation over litigation. The results of the activities showed an increase in community understanding of mediation and the establishment of a sustainable referral system. This program is expected to reduce land conflicts through win-win solutions, accelerate the dispute resolution process, and improve social harmony in Serdang Bedagai Regency.

Abstract

Bengkala Village in Buleleng Regency, Bali, is an inclusive village inhabited by the Kolok community, a deaf-mute group that has developed a local sign language system. This community faces serious challenges in accessing health information, particularly related to stunting prevention efforts. This article aims to identify inclusive and effective health communication strategies for people with disabilities in the local context. Disabled groups remain vulnerable due to limited communication access. Through an equity-based communication approach and a disability-inclusive development framework, health communication needs to be developed using visual media, local sign language, and community-based participatory strategies. The analysis also shows that legally based interventions, such as Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2021 and Law No. 8 of 2016, are important stepping stones, although their implementation remains limited. This study emphasizes the importance of transforming health communication, not only to inform but also to transformative efforts in reaching marginalized groups like the Kolok community to reduce stunting rates equitably and inclusively.

Abstract

Land disputes are a complex problem that frequently occurs in Indonesia, including in Serdang Bedagai Regency. Land, as a strategic resource, is often the object of disputes due to unclear ownership, inheritance that is not properly resolved, land purchases that do not comply with legal procedures, and conflicts between communities and the government or companies in land acquisition. The problem faced by the people of Serdang Bedagai Regency is the lack of understanding of the mechanism for resolving land disputes through inter-party agreements as a more effective and efficient alternative to out-of-court settlement. Many land dispute cases drag on and end in social conflict due to the community's lack of understanding of the procedures and benefits of dispute resolution through agreements. To address this problem, socialization activities were conducted through counseling for the people of Pematang Kuala Village using presentations, group discussions, and interactive question and answer methods. The material presented included types of land disputes, settlement mechanisms through inter-party agreements, and their implementation and challenges. This activity was attended by residents experiencing land disputes, traditional leaders, village officials, and related stakeholders. This program is expected to increase public understanding about peaceful land dispute resolution, reduce the level of land conflict, and increase social harmony in Serdang Bedagai Regency.
