Abstract

The need for food in human life affects food sources that continue to increase. As one of the efforts that can be made by utilizing local potential that can be processed into food products for the abundance of existing potential. Judging from the local potential of Dusun Pulosari Kasembon East Java in the form of rambutan plants planted in the yard of the house as a shade tree. During the rambutan season, residents only use the fruit for personal consumption and sale. Meanwhile, rambutan seeds (Nephelium sp) can be used as side products, such as the popular rambutan seed chips and nuts. The method used in this activity was in the form of training (socialization) which was carried out as part of Group 115 KKM activities which were primarily aimed at the people of Pulosari Hamlet, Kasembon District. The purpose of this activity is as a form of education and training for residents in processing rambutan seeds into chips and rambutan seed nuts which will later be developed and sold to the general public. The result of this training is to provide knowledge and convenience for residents to utilize rambutan seeds which have not been used so far so that they become a commodity of economic value.

Abstract

Covid-19 had given negative effect to all of sectors of human life, particularly in health and economy. In economy sector, the most people affected by covid was workers and those who had micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). In rural area, impact of covid-19 had grown broader by declining people's purchasing power. Inhabitant of Mekarsari village, located in Gantar district in Indramayu City, West Java, for instance, suffered financial loss. Traditional method of marketing and selling was unable to adapt to new behavior of market. The program is based on previous community service program, which was only focused on production. For the reason previously mentioned, this article discusses marketing and production learning program for Opak products is carried out through online media. The methods used in this program are 1) organizing a workshop on digital marketing, 2) making product labels and branding, 3) taking a part in marketing process of Opak. The result showed that the program had significant role in rebranding the product.

Abstract

Astronomy in Indonesia originates and develops from Islamic boarding schools. Currently, this science is not massively studied in Islamic boarding schools, because it is considered difficult to do something related to calculations. Whereas in the aspect of study in Fiqh, students are taught and given an in-depth explanation. The Hidayatul Quran Islamic Boarding School (PPHQ) in Batanghari, East Lampung, is no exception, which has two flagship programs, namely Diniyah Takmiliyah and Tahfidhul Qur'an. In the Diniyah Takmiliyah Program, where alfiyah class students have studied fiqh studies quite in depth, the study of istiqbalul qiblah fiqh is not overlooked. This service tries to complete the fiqh understanding of the Qibla that has been owned by the santri with a scientific understanding of the Qibla, both in terms of calculation and measurement. The method used is PAR (participatory action research) with the aim of seeing, hearing, as well as understanding social phenomena that occur. Through this method, the target community or group is used as a subject, not an object of activity. The results obtained were that the alfiyah class students had basic knowledge both in the field of fiqh and about the geography of the earth. So that this training can complement and add insight, knowledge, new understanding and new skills in determining the Qibla direction.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase understanding and skills on how to compete by implementing sharia marketing strategies. Understanding this strategy is very important as a first step in successful marketing in the future considering that there are great opportunities for implementing sharia marketing in Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim. PKM activities are carried out using education, training and discussion/consultation methods. Submission of material followed by practice solving cases and continued with discussion and consultation of problems faced by participants as small business actors considered appropriate to the characteristics of PKM participants. The participants of this activity were 25 students of the Cordova College of Entrepreneurship. The activity was carried out effectively because it succeeded in increasing the participants' knowledge, understanding and skills regarding the concept of Sharia marketing.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to provide teachers with an understanding of how important Android-based media learning is in supporting the learning process. This community service program has the goal of conducting learning media training that can be used as an option for teachers and can be implemented in the learning process at school. Community service is carried out by providing training on making learning media based on Android applications in the learning process in the classroom for teachers in Tamansari Village, Setu District, Bekasi Regency. The service participants are the school heads and teachers from various levels in Tamansari Village, Setu District, Bekasi Regency. Dedication and limited facilities and infrastructure, 10 principals and 20 teachers were taken. The training was held at the Tamansari Village Office, Setu District, Bekasi Regency for 1 day on August 11, 2022. The implementation of community service can be categorized as successful in terms of the participation of participants and village officials who really helped carry out the activity, considering the target of 30 participants who were invited to attend as many as 30 people. Participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this service activity because it was a very new knowledge and made it easy to carry out learning, in addition to contemporary learning as well as developing Android-based learning media that they would use in learning in their respective schools. The participants' responses and responses to the service activities carried out stated that from the quality of the presenters, the quality of the modules was very good and they hoped that there would be ongoing training for special teachers in their schools who could be said to be still behind with technology.

Abstract

Writing skill is one of the most important language skills to be mastered by students. There have been many learning models developed for writing especially in English but not all English teachers know and implement these learning models. One learning model that has been extensively researched and proven to be effective in teaching English writing skills is the Genre Based Approach. The English teacher's mastery of the Genre Based Approach learning model is very important because apart from being proven effective, it is also recommended by the government, especially in the implementation of the independent curriculum. It is projected for learning in the coming year, GBA will be required to be used as a model for learning English in schools, including in vocational schools. The service method is carried out using the lesson study model. Lesson study is carried out in three cycles until finally the students get a score that exceeds the KKM score. In addition to quantitative data in the form of increasing students' English writing scores, the volunteers also distributed questionnaires that asked students' perceptions after learning using the Genre Based Approach. From the answers to the questionnaire it can be concluded that GBA cognitively adds to their insights and this insight can be used for ideas in writing and affectively GBA makes them interested and challenged to write.

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional problem in the world, especially in developing and poor countries. Stunting can increase the risk of morbidity and mortality, as well as suboptimal brain development resulting in stunted motor development and mental retardation. Karawang Regency is one of 100 areas in West Java that is prioritized for stunting prevention. Based on the latest data released by the Karawang Regency Health Office, the results of the August 2020 Toddler Month Weighing were as many as 155,670 toddlers whose length and height were measured, the results obtained were 688 toddlers with very low nutritional status (0.4%) and 3,720 short toddlers (2.4%) ). Meanwhile, the normal height was 150,875 toddlers (96.9%) and the height was 387 toddlers (0.2%). The cause of the high stunting rate in Karawang Regency is very complex. The determinants of stunting cases that have been collected by the Karawang District Health Office are the lack of clean water, healthy latrines, immunization, the number of pregnant women who experience a lack of protein energy, the number of family members who smoke, children who have worms and families who do not have health insurance. Based on the identification of the problem of stunting in Karawang Regency, stunting is not hereditary so it can be prevented. The main factor is changes in people's behavior. Therefore, the Institute for Research & Community Service (LPPM Unisma) carries out community service activities by making outreach activities for changes in understanding in accelerating stunting prevention in Batujaya District, Karawang Regency. Activities to increase behavior change in accelerating stunting prevention in Batujaya District, Karawang Regency are actually only carried out in the form of counseling and psychoeducation regarding changes in understanding in accelerating stunting prevention by involving various parties so that they can have a positive impact. has an impact on preventing and reducing stunting, as well as providing basic food packages for vulnerable families.

Abstract

The rapid development of settlements, industry and infrastructure in the city of Bekasi has resulted in increased pollution, reduced the amount of agricultural land used as a food producer and a source of oxygen. To minimize this impact, it is necessary to have community service in the form of urban farming activities using the green wall method. The method of implementation is in the form of outreach and training, such as (1) Providing knowledge and understanding regarding urban farming and procedures for making green walls, (2) Carrying out green wall making practices. The results of its activities are the presentation of the extension material which includes the history of green walls in the world, types of green wall, the main structure of green wall, green wall containers, green wall planting media, types of plants for green wall, watering techniques on green walls, the concept of laying out green wall, and practice of making green wall (tools and materials, as well as work steps). Furthermore, the practice of making green wall (done outdoors). At the practical stage, the community is invited to be directly involved in assembling materials and arranging plants on the media so that a green wall is formed. This green wall creation program is very useful, gives satisfaction, and the program can be continued independently by partners.

Abstract

Idhul Adha is a holiday for Muslims around the world where on that day there is an activity, namely the slaughter of sacrificial animals, but there are issues and focuses that are faced first, the lack of knowledge of the general public about halal slaughter, second, namely the management of packaging and processing Qurbani meat. Community Service at the Faculty of Islamic Religion focuses on Eid al-Adha/qurban governance, especially in the management of sacrificial animals starting from slaughtering to packaging and processing of the meat. Community service activities related to halal slaughter training and qurban meat packaging and processing governance aim to improve skills and knowledge about halal slaughtering and management of qurban meat packaging and processing for the Sukaraja Village Community and the Management of the Al-ikhlas Mushala RT.06/RW.02. The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Islamic University 45 (UNISMA) uses the training method. This activity was carried out offline by providing descriptions and examples indoors for the next stage to be practiced together with the residents of the Al-ikhlas Cibugel Mosque, Sumedang. The results of the implementation of community service activities which were manifested in the form of training on the slaughter and processing of halal and thoyyib sacrificial animals for the management of the Al-Ikhlas Mosque in Cibugel, Sumedang as a whole ran smoothly and were able to increase public understanding. This is evidenced by the enthusiasm, active involvement, contentment in the discussions and practices of most of the management. Another impact that the community received from this activity was in the form of increasing the community's sense of belonging to their religion and nation, dividing some of the qurbani meat, increasing community sensitivity and the spirit of mutual cooperation which in Sundanese terms is known as the concept of sabilulungan.

Abstract

Taman Lenteng Agung is located in Lenteng Agung Village, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta, DKI Jakarta. The park, which has an area of 14,000 m2, is a riparian zone. The riparian zone is a transitional space between rivers and land, which in the zone serves as a buffer from land. Several points in the Pingkal Park area are landslide-prone areas. One of the causes of intense soil movement on sloping land is a land management system that is not based on soil conservation principles. Perennials that can accommodate the soil are very limited in population on the slopes due to massive development. This community service activity aims to convey information about the function, benefits of riparian zones, erosion potential, and soil movement that can occur in Taman Pingkal. The method used in the implementation of this activity is in the form of socialization through booklet media. Participants were collected in the park and then given material through socialization by distributing booklets to activity participants. The socialization participants amounted to 15 people from the community and park managers who used the park for sports activities and recreational activities. The result obtained from this activity is that the manager and the community still do not know the functions and benefits of riparian zones, with this activity the community becomes aware of the functions and benefits of the park and has the desire to keep the park from being damaged. The use of booklet media can be an alternative for the community to obtain information about the functions and benefits of the park. Based on the results obtained from socialization activities, the dissemination of information to the community around the park needs to be expanded. The community needs to be involved in the management of the park as an open space. In addition, the attention of the local government to the sustainability and comfort of the park as an open space for the community is expected to be increased.
