Abstract

This writing will explain the discourse of opposition in Islamic politics in Indonesia by making Hamka and Al-Azhar’s interpretation as the object of study. The term opposition is significant because it is often misunderstood and used, both by the Western world and internally the Muslims itself. The West labels Islamic politics as anti-criticism and contrary to the spirit of democracy because it sees several Islamic countries that show more authoritarianism and dictatorship. They see that there is no justice in Islamic politics, because the opposition is second class and vulnerable to being silenced. Paradoxical phenomena are found among internal Muslims, especially in Indonesia, where it gets freedom and even guarantees in expressing their aspirations, either by sending letters, having dialogues, or even holding demonstrations on the streets. Checks and balances are the basis for the opposition movement, however, freedom of expression that exceeds the limits of reasonableness to cause anarchic and provocative actions cannot be justified because it violates the law and deviates from ethics and morality. Therefore, this study will trace Hamka’s idea of ideal opposition in his interpretation by using library research and Fazlur Rahman’s double movement hermeneutic theory. With this is theory, it is found that actually the Qur’an has discussed the principles of opposition to uphold justice and eliminate the tyranny of office holders.

Abstract

This study shows that textual and methodological work is a necessity. Both are necessary in keeping God's message in the Qur'an. From the analysis and research of the literature obtained, four figures such as Rasyîd Ridhâ, Abû al-A'lâ al-Maudûdî, Sayyid Qutb and Taqiyuddîn al-Nabhânî only place the arguments for the caliphate or imâmah in the qauli (textual, literalism) area and nullify the work of manhaji (methodological). The principles of religion and state that the I get from this research are qath'i al-Dilalah zhanni al-Tathbîq. In the course of revelation, it is stated that in the context of tasyri', the Prophet waited for the revelation to come. But in the context of application, the Prophet involved the wider community by adjusting the socio-political reality. In short, even sharia texts that are qath'i in nature can sometimes be relative if they are to be applied. From several studies that reviewed the interpretation, including Qs. al-Baqarah [2]: 30 and 124, Qs. al-Nisâ [4]: 59, Qs. al-Mâ'idah [5]: 48-49, Qs. al-An'âm [6]: 165 and Qs. Yûnus [10]: 14. The four mufasir in carrying out the khilafah or imâmah system only consider the aqwâl of the scholars who can support legitimacy in their respective movements, but miss in reformulating social reality in the face of maqâshid al-Syâriah (the principle values/purposes of the islamic law) and maslahah 'ammah (public interest).

Abstract

he Qur'an was revealed to the prophet Muhammad which is the greatest miracle and will not run out of time. The relevance of human life in the past or in the future is contained therein. Various kinds of art for understanding are presented in hermeneutics including understanding the substance of the Qur'an which can broaden one's horizons. There are many benefits in hermeneutics, but harm can also be obtained if there is an element of pragmatism. Therefore, this article seeks to analyze the story of Abraham in the Koran from a hermeneutical perspective. This article shows that the series of events experienced by Ibrahim are relevant to one another, if one looks at it at a glance that Abraham's struggle to awaken his people by being burned alive and sent to slaughter Ismail, then these events provide an opportunity for our mindset that the series this event was a test for Abraham in preaching patiently, sincerely, obediently, submissively and submissively to what Allah wills, immediately Allah's help immediately came and because of that Ibrahim received a high degree.

Abstract

Discussions about the Muhkam and Mutasyabih verses never stop because of the extensive content of the Al-Qur'an in understanding these verses in their entirety. Meanwhile, one of the factors that causes differences of opinion in understanding the Muhkam and Mutasyabih verses is the way of viewing verses that are clear (muhkam) and those that are still vague (mutasyabih). This research uses a qualitative approach and uses literature study as an approach. By using this method, it will be easier for writers to study and solve problems from various sources whose credibility is recognized. These sources include published books and well-known journal articles. The results of the research show that interpreting the muhkam verses in the Koran is sufficient with interpretation. However, if it is related to the mutasyabih verses, this requires deeper study because of the vagueness of the verse.

Abstract

The Qur'an has a general nature and requires deeper explanations. The flexibility in interpreting the Qur'an results in an ever-changing interpretation process over time and place. Schools of thought and scholarly affiliations also influence the approach of interpreters in interpreting the Qur'an. One famous tafsir is Al-Kasysyaf by Az-Zamakhsyari, known for its beautiful use of vocabulary and its connection to the Mu'tazilah. The Mu'tazilah emphasize the concepts of monotheism, justice, promises, and threats in their interpretations. Based on its methodology, this study is a literature review (library research) since the data sources are primarily books and literature related to the research topic, including the works of al-Zamakhshary and other relevant sources. This paper discusses the fanaticism of Zamakhsari in interpreting his tafsir, particularly in the interpretation of the attributes of Allah. Zamakhsari adopts the views of the Mu'tazilah, who deny the mortality of Allah and interpret words such as "hand" and "eye" with different meanings. Additionally, the Mu'tazilah reject many of Allah's attributes that imply similarity to created beings. They reinterpret the descriptions of Allah, such as the interpretation of Allah's presence above the 'arsh (throne). The Mu'tazilah also deny the possibility of seeing Allah with the naked eye on the Day of Judgment, using Quranic verses that state that Allah cannot be reached by human sight, yet He can see all that is visible. This research highlights the differences in the interpretation of the Qur'an, particularly regarding the attributes of Allah, between the views of Zamakhsari and the Mu'tazilah, in contrast to the beliefs of the Ahl al-Sunnah

Abstract

One of the important and interesting words to study in the Qur'an is qānit. At first glance, qānit means obedience. In addition, obedience in the Qur'an often uses the term tha'ah. So the word qānit becomes important to be studied in order to reveal what kind of obedience is meant in this word. The method used is qualitative with descriptive-analysis. While the approach used is the semantic ensiklopedik. There are previous studies that use the semantic ensiklopedik approach, but discuss the word maisir instead of qānit. Previous research also only discussed qānit in the aspect of fiqh. While this study will discuss qānit in the aspect of the Qur'an, namely looking for its meaning in order to improve the quality of worship. Qānit is repeated 13 times in 12 verses and 8 surahs. The basic meaning of qānit is obedience. While the meaning of qānit in the Pre-Qur'anic period is to follow something material, it is in contrast to the meaning of qānit in the Qur'an. Qānit in the Qur'an is in the context of worship, not material. So its meaning is to be consistent in obedience, both to Allah and to one's husband. There are 8 semantic fields, namely Allah, husband, spouse, Maryam bint Imran, Prophet Ibrahim, forgiveness, prayer and all of Allah's creations both in the heavens and on earth. The ways to be qānit for a wife include guarding her husband's property and maintaining her honor. For the general public, it is by keeping the five daily prayers, praying at night and asking for forgiveness. The reasons why one should be qānit include getting sustenance without calculation in this world and getting glorious sustenance in the hereafter in the form of heaven. This semantic ensiklopedik approach is proven to be able to cover the shortcomings that exist in Izutsu's semantics because the research becomes more focused, has benchmarks and is not wordy.

Abstract

According to Schacht, the study of legal maxims can be used as additional data to describe historically the growth of legal hadiths and the development of legal doctrine. The khiyār al-majelis hadith in the form of legal maxims can be placed in the context of this development. The focus of this study is Schacht's view regarding legal maxims hadiths, especially the khiyār al-majelis hadith. This article uses library research by using Joseph Schacht's work: The Origins as the main source. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach, with the documentary method as a data collection technique. The main problem in this study is analyzed historically-critically. The results of this research show that most legal maxims hadiths are a further development of the use of personal opinions and individual considerations of specialists and qāḍīs. The khiyār majelis hadith is an example of the process of developing legal doctrine in the form of legal maxims which later turned into hadith and have more complete isnād in classical colections. This last conclusion was refuted by A‘ẓamī who held the opposite view. And based on the results of the discussion, it seems that A‘ẓamī's criticism of Schacht's argument has not been very successful.

Abstract

This article wants to explain to readers the debate regarding Nasikh Mansukh's knowledge which is used as a basis or one of the methods of interpreting the Koran. The debate that emerged was that several interpretive figures did not believe in the existence of Nasikh Mansukh in the Koran. Even though the knowledge of Nasikh Mansukh is very important in interpreting the Koran, a small example that can be seen is determining the direction of the Qibla, you can imagine that we will face the Qibla anywhere. Then the issue of wills which are required when approaching death is removed by the inheritance verses and hadith of the Prophet Muhammad saw. By using the comparison method, the author will compare an interpretation that uses Nasikh Mansukh knowledge and one that does not use Nasakh Mansukh, as well as seeing what method is used if the interpretation does not use Nasakh Mansukh. The results of the research illustrate that interpreters who do not use nasikh mansukh use contextual and linguistic methods, apart from that there are also those who use am and takhsis in viewing the text without needing to eliminate the law.
