Abstract

Utilization of LMS as a learning platform can now be utilized by various groups, including the Master of Educational Technology program at Pelita Harapan University. The use of this LMS is, of course, related to the student's learning style. The use of VARK is used to determine student learning styles and then connect it to their learning experiences using the LMS. This research was conducted by conducting interviews with 30 Master of Educational Technology students at Pelita Harapan University, batch 49 and 50. The research method used in this research was using a quantitative approach with an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The analysis technique in this research is to present facts in the form of numbers by providing an explanation of quantitative data. The results of the analysis with Pearson Product-moment obtained an RXY value of 0.254 for Visual, 0.420 for Aural, 0.325 for Read, 0.409 for Kinesthetic with a value of 0.05 and a Df of 28. The correlation coefficient shows a value of 0.361, which means that the use of LMS with Visual and Read learning styles has an unrelated relationship. Meanwhile, Aural and Kinesthetic learning styles have a significant correlation.

Abstract

Learning style refers to the way a person or student acquires knowledge taught by a teacher in the classroom. Each student has a different learning style. Some students may have only one learning style, while others may have several. Given the diversity of learning styles, this research aims to investigate whether a student's learning style can influence their academic achievement. A Likert scale questionnaire with four indicators was used as a research instrument to measure the learning styles of the students. In addition, a chi-square (X²) test was conducted to determine if there is a relationship between learning styles and academic achievement, and a mean test was used to determine if one particular learning style has a greater impact on academic achievement. The data analysis using the chi-square test showed that H0 was accepted, meaning there is no significant relationship between students' learning styles and their academic achievement. The mean test also showed that H0 was accepted, with the calculated F-value (1.16) being greater than the tabulated F-value (0.84).

Abstract

Every individual, including students with special needs or those with exceptional intelligence, has the same right to education. Unfortunately, many educators still lack sufficient awareness about this phenomenon. As a result, issues in the classroom related to students with special needs are often not adequately addressed. Therefore, the solution to this challenge is inclusive education. The implementation of inclusive education can help students develop their potential to the fullest. This study aims to provide basic knowledge about inclusive education to graduate students of Universitas Pelita Harapan, class of 52, through interactive learning on Google Classroom. The research uses a qualitative approach, with 18 respondents who are expected to identify early signs if one of their students shows special characteristics. The findings of the study show that the completion rate of tasks in the inclusive classroom did not fully reach 100%, indicating that some participants did not complete their assignments. However, participation in the inclusive classroom remained high, with a minimum task completion rate of 80.3%. The use of interactive and varied learning media can facilitate the development of various types of intelligence in students, creating a more inclusive and empowering learning environment.

Abstract

Technological developments have greatly affected the dimensions of life and education, one of which is the use of e-learning in learning which is considered to be able to answer the learning needs of the 21st century. However, there are many obstacles faced, such as regulations, human resources, infrastructure, and limited budgets that should be a serious concern for various parties, especially governments and education providers. This research aims to explore the impact of the use of e-learning in learning in Indonesia, what are the challenges, and how efforts must be made by the government and education providers in order to implement e-learning in learning and how to overcome the challenges. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results of this study show that e-learning brings major changes to education in Indonesia, but it has challenges such as regulations that have not accommodated the integration of e-learning in learning, human resources that are not optimal, the availability of inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and a limited budget. To overcome these challenges, the researcher concluded and provided advice to the government and education providers to prepare adequate regulations, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and budgets so that in their implementation, e-learning can accommodate the needs of diverse communities.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effect of QR codes as a digital content access tool in high school biology textbooks on the comprehension of 11th-grade students and to examine potential gender-based differences. Adopting a quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only non-equivalent group model, the study compared an experimental group (students using QR codes) and a control group (students not using QR codes). Data was collected through a standardized post-test given to thirty students in each group, following validity and reliability tests conducted on a different set of thirty students. The data analysis included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing to analyze the quantitative data. The results revealed a significant improvement in the comprehension of students using QR codes, as their post-test scores were considerably higher than those in the control group. Statistical analysis of averages confirmed the effectiveness of QR codes in offering additional accessible and engaging content, such as videos, images, and articles related to the subject. Interestingly, no significant difference in comprehension was found between male and female students, suggesting that the advantages of QR codes are evenly distributed across genders. This study highlights the value of QR codes as a digital content access medium for enhancing learning outcomes in secondary school biology education, fostering an interactive and comprehensive learning experience.

Abstract

The study seeks to understand how enjoyable and meaningful learning can be applied to address the learning difficulties faced by children with ADHD. ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulty concentrating, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, which can significantly affect academic performance.  Play-based learning is a promising pedagogical approach that can be adapted for children with ADHD. By engaging in playful activities, educators can introduce and guide meaningful learning experiences. This research aims to understand the implementation of play-based learning for children with ADHD. This qualitative descriptive study employed a literature review to explore existing research on this topic. The findings suggest that play-based learning can be beneficial for children with ADHD, contributing to improved focus, increased motivation, and enhanced social interaction skills. This is because play-based learning integrates seamlessly with other aspects of child development, creating a fun and meaningful educational experience that promotes efficient and effective teaching and learning.

Abstract

Education is a deliberate effort to help children become mature and take responsibility for themselves, their families, communities, nations, and countries. Many schools in Indonesia still use conventional teaching methods that tend to make students passive and uninvolved in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to change the teaching method to a more innovative and interactive one to increase student engagement and improve learning outcomes. This study aims to investigate the effect of the cooperative learning model, specifically the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type, on student learning outcomes in eighth-grade students on the human excretory system. The method used in this study is the pretest and post-test method, which was given in the form of questions to 64 students of class 8.1 and 8.2 at SMP Kristen Tiara Kasih in West Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that the TGT model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective and innovative teaching methods to help students achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Technological advancements have introduced the concept of 21st century learning that integrates technology to promote critical and creative thinking. Data shows that 167 million people in Indonesia use social media, with 41.9% aged 13-24 years old. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use on students' creativity in learning and identify the most influential platforms, with a focus on Instagram and TikTok. This study uses quantitative research methods with correlation data analysis techniques, correlation coefficients, and categorization. This research uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire that was distributed to 50 fashion design students at ESMOD Jakarta. The results show that the use of social media has a positive influence on the creative process of students, although the influence is very weak which can be seen from the beta coefficient (β) value of 0.09 and the regression value of 0.13, as well as the low determination coefficient (R²) of 0.02. In addition, the results of the T-count value < the T-table (0.52 < 1.68) show that there is not enough evidence to state that there is a significant difference in creativity between Instagram and TikTok users. So, it can be concluded that although social media has a very weak positive effect on students' creativity, there is no significant difference between Instagram and TikTok users. Both platforms contribute almost equally, and other factors may play a more significant role in boosting students' creativity.

Abstract

The entrepreneurial spirit is now needed. Through the entrepreneurial spirit, the students are expected to become skill and applicable in the daily life. Things that encourage the growth of the entrepreneurial spirit of the students are the curiosity competency, creative thinking and risk-taking attitude. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine whether there is a correlation and influence between the three competences toward the entrepreneurial spirit of the students, and to analyze how significant the influence of them. This study was implemented to 115 students of Lentera Harapan, Tangerang. Collecting data used questionnaire for the competences and entrepreneurial spirit by using SPSS statistical program assistance type 16. To solve the validity types, relationships, and influences is calculated by the formula Pearson and regression, and reliability using Cronbach Alpha. The result of this research showed that there is a correlation and influence between the curiosity competence (0.33), creative thinking (0.19), and risk-taking attitude (0.36) toward the entrepreneurial spirit of students. The three factors are influence toward entrepreneurial spirit as 0.422 and significant to develop the entrepreneurial spirit between the grade X and XI.

Abstract

Hybrid learning was held in response to the government's directive regarding steps to anticipate the Covid 19 outbreak. Public and private schools have begun to stop learning at school and begin to implement hybrid learning. Hybrid learning can reduce student learning motivation and student activity. This study aims to determine the influence of hybrid learning and learning motivation on student activity while at SMAK XYZ Jababeka. The subjects in this study are sixty-five students of class X and XI SMAK XYZ Jababeka. The research method used by the author is Path Analysis using a quantitative approach. The questionnaire research instruments used are to measure hybrid learning, learning motivation, and student activity. The results of this quantitative study show that hybrid learning affects student activity in learning, hybrid learning affects learning motivation, learning motivation affects student activity at SMAK XYZ Jababeka. So, it was concluded that hybrid learning influences activity, student learning motivation and learning motivation has an effect on student activity when conducting hybrid learning.
