Abstract

Javanese literature is a product from ideas of author and Javanese poet which contain a great value. Many kind of Javanese literature has created from author and being a phenomenal works because contain morality values. One of phenomenal Javanese literature is Serat Tripama from KGPAA Mangkunegara IV. Serat Tripama tell us about three characters of wayang, that are Suwanda, Kumbakarna, and Karna. When we look moredeeper into Serat Tripama, there are contain good messages about nationalism values, it can look in depiction of three characters who was talking about. Serat Tripama can use to be a means to introducting national spirit characters for young generation. That way is related with the last condition, when many young generation having less of sense of belonging with their nation. Therefore, this way can use to introduction the Javanese literature works to the young generations, because in this globalization era most of our young generation preference like to learn the other works from the other culture than knowing and learning about their own culture, in this context is Javanese literature

Abstract

Text learning provided by students at the Junior High School level (JHS) is in the form of fiction and non-fiction texts. This study focuses on fictional texts about folklore based on local wisdom for class VIII. The taking of local wisdom folklore is motivated by the element of caring for nature as a strengthening of character values ​​to realize the goals of character education found in the National Education System. Thus, educators try to provide folklore media as a means of learning literary texts, especially fiction texts. Thus, this study aims to explain and describe (1) character building through folklore media; (2) Folklore media make use of local wisdom stories in Ngawi sub-district, Ngawi district, and (3) the application of environmental values ​​in folklore in Ngawi sub-district, Ngawi district. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that (1) folklore media can provide educational facilities as well as teaching character education in the form of environmental care values; (2) Folklore in Ngawi sub-district as a medium to motivate students to explain concern for the surrounding environment, and (3) an alternative learning media facility for creative and innovative fictional text material

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the limited amount of teaching media whicg were appropriate for distance learning. This condition raised concern for the author to find the best solution so that the learning process ran well and student learning outcomes could be achieved optimally. The author took the initiative to create an innovative media by creating her own instructional videos to be used in online learning. The purpose of this study was to develop instructional videos which were based on curriculum, student background and local wisdom and character building. The design of this study was a research and development consisting 4 steps, those are (1) planning, including the analysis of Basic Competence, material selection, and determining the suitable recording application, (2) design : preaparing script in form of PowerPoint and Flowchart, (3) development : including video and audio recording, editting, and evaluation, and revision, and (4) Publication, that was publishing the videos to YouTube channel.

Abstract

Reading aloud is necessary for early childhood. Reading aloud can help developing language, growing literacy from an early age, increasing intellectual competence, controlling emotions, and bringing parents closer to their children. As technology growing fast, there are many reading materials that can be used in reading aloud. One of the media that can be used in reading aloud is the Let's Read application. Let's Read is a free of charge application in the form of digital books that can be accessed online and offline. This study uses descriptive qualitative method. This study aims to explain the use of the Let's Read application in reading aloud, reading materials that can be used in the Let's Read application to read aloud, and the advantages and disadvantages of the Let's Read application. The results of this study indicate that the Let's Read application can be used on parents' gadgets, such as smart phones or laptops. Reading materials that can be used in reading aloud can be adjusted into the difficulty level of reading material or children's interest in pictures / illustrations. The advantages of this application are that it can be accessed for free, presented in several languages ​​(multilingual), attractive appearance in terms of illustrations and the use of font face or font size (can be enlarged or reduced) as well as the content of story that is easy to comprehend. On the other hand, the disadvantage of this application is on illustrations/ images presented in two dimensions.

Abstract

Problem based learning is a learning model to demannd for the students in improving creative thinking, critical thinking and high order thinking. In problem based learning, the problem must be contextual. The research is qualitative. The methode is literatur review. The data were from references, textbook, and journals. The result showed that (1) the problem based learning was designed to improve creative thinking (2) by the problem, the students could observe the adult role in contextual. Then, the students could be independently and autonomous students.

Abstract

Masumambang poem by W.S. Rendra illustrates the character Aku who responds or responds to the various obstacles faced both from inside and outside himself, namely society, government and the nation. Indirectly, this poem can function as a socio-cultural document and a reflection of society. This research seeks to see literary works as a mirror and social reality. The method used in this research was through understanding the text and literature study, and then the social analysis was carried out using Alan Swingewood's sociological analysis knife. The problem of this research lies in the text and its relationship with the community. The purpose of this study is to determine the structure of the text in order to find the meaning of poetry and its relationship with the context of dialectical society and to find the world view of the poet Alan Swingewood classification as a mediation between text and society. The results of the research in this article show that there are two perspectives, the first is the social facts of the character Aku, who expresses a lot of sadness seeing the welfare of his nation and hopes to be free from colonialism, the second is the description of the structure of Masumambang poetry and social criticism of the Masumambang poetry model of the facts of humanity, love, and patriotism. , and a world view of the society that surrounds it. Abstract

This research aims to describe content and form, theme, as well as a thematic idea of children's short stories in the weekly Kompas Newspaper, in part “Children's Kompas, Stories”. The research data are words, sentences, or paragraphs that indicate the content, form, and theme. The sources of research data are the children's short stories in weekly Children’s Kompas Newspaper namely “Children's Kompas, Stories”. Data collection of the research used documentation, reading, taking notes, and making the data corpus. The research data was the content and form of children's short stories that the researcher analyzed based on the characteristics of children story's literature, namely simplicity of content and form. The theme analysis has been done by using Robert Stanton's theory. The result of the research shows that the children's short stories in the “Children's Kompas, Stories” in Kompas Newspaper, in terms of content and form, have a simple characteristic. The contents of the short story are about caring, prejudice, feelings of revenge, sadness, joy, courtesy, fable story, friendship at school, best friend, and other things that relate to the children’s world. In terms of form the story, children's short stories are generally realistic. However, another form of a realist short story, there is also in the form of a fable story, namely The Little Bear's Revenge Short Story. The language use of children's short story in "Children's Kompas, Stories" still need to be reviewed, specifically in the aspect of using diction, thus it can fully be said to have simple characteristics, whereas, in terms of how the story is told, it can be said to be simple. The theme of the children's short story in "Children's Kompas, Stories" is very various. The themes concern family, prejudice, revenge, mysterious friends, Chinese New Year celebrations without Grandma, health, politeness, memories, experiences while on vacation, justice, and friendship. The thematic ideas, which dominate all the short stories (data of the research), are didactic themes which mean cultivating educational values, moral values, as well as children's emotional sensitivity.

Abstract

This study discusses how podcasts are used as a medium for learning Indonesian literature. The purpose of this study is to find out how to use podcasts as a medium for learning Indonesian literature in universities. The subjects of this study were active students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, all of whom were ready to become research respondents. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source of this research is a questionnaire on the use of podcasts as a medium for learning literature which is distributed online via google form. The data are in the form of percentages and respondents' answers to multiple choice questions and short essays on the use of podcast media in learning literature. The method of data analysis is done by grouping the average score of answers on the questionnaire, looking for the percentage of respondents' responses, and interpreting the results of respondents' responses based on percentages. The result of this study is that the use of podcasts as a medium for learning Indonesian literature has been carried out more or less. Respondents who are students in learning literature feel that podcasts as a medium for learning literature are quite effective, because they are easily accessible, can be played repeatedly, are fun, and add variety to learning.

Abstract

Abstrak Melalui artikel ini akan dikaji studi genre terhadap lima novel karya perempuan pemenang utama sayembara novel DKJ. Adapun lima novel tersebut: Saman karya Ayu Utami yang memenangkan sayembara di tahun 1998, kemudian Dewi Sartika dengan novelnya Dadaisme pemenang di periode 2003, di periode 2008 dimenangkan oleh Anidita Siswanto Thayf dan novel Tanah Tabu, sedangkan di periode 2010 ada Ramayda Akmal dan novel Jatisaba, serta di periode 2012 dimenangkan oleh Andina Dwifatma dengan judul novelnya Semusim, dan Semusim Lagi. Kelima novel yang menjadi barometer perkembangan kualitas karya sastra Indonesia tersebut akan diteliti genrenya berdasarkan unsur strukturalnya, mulai dari narasi, penokohan, setting, dan konografi. Pada dasarnya studi genre merupakan studi untuk mengkategorisasikan sebuah teks novel kedalam genre tertentu berdasarkan pola atau struktur dari novel tersebut. Sehingga genre tersebut bisa diterima oleh khalayak dan diidentifikasikan sesuai genre masing-masing novel. Alasan kenapa peneliti memilih novel pemenang utama sayembara novel DKJ yang dimenangi oleh perempuan untuk dijadikan objek penelitian? Karena pada hakikatnya, novel-novel pemenang utama sayembara novel DKJ memiliki pola-pola cerita khusus dan berbeda tiap periodenya. Perbedaan tersebut disebabkan kriteria penilaian pemenang yang berbeda tiap tahunnya dari dewan juri sayembara yang juga selalu berganti orang atau berbeda jajaran kepanitiannya. Kata kunci: Studi Genre, Pengarang Perempuan, Pemenang Utama Sayembara Novel DKJ, Lokalitas Genre.

Abstract

Language and culture are two things that are difficult to separate where cultural studies present the study of language automatically. Madurese is a unique language with three levels of language, namely rough (enja’-iya), medium (enggi-enten) and fine (enggi-bunten). The Madurese language is increasingly less desirable and needs preservation which can be developed in various forms such as implementation in learning, habituation or with cultural preservation such as the Mantu tradition. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of Madurese speech language with a good and correct level of speech in the mantu tradition event. The speech used in the Mantu tradition uses good word selection by paying attention to the speaker's situation and the aesthetics of the speech. The aesthetics of the language are then supported by the use of Saloka, proverbs and Pantun. In general, the greeting framework for the in-laws tradition is the opening greeting, preamble, greeting words, thanks, the content of the speech consisting of the beginning, middle and end before then ending with the closing section and closing greetings.
