Abstract

Bilinear interpolation is a method that is widely used in image scaling where bilinear interpolation can be applied to upscaling and downscaling processes. Several previous researches have shown that bilinear interpolation provides low quality reconstruction results compared to other scaling methods but is still a good alternative considering the lower process complexity compared to other scaling methods. For this reason, a mechanism or model is needed that can be juxtaposed with bilinear interpolation scaling so that the reconstruction results have better quality. Referring to previous research, neural networks can be used in the reconstruction process where artificial neural networks are used to learn features or information that is lost during the downscaling process so that it can be reused during the reconstruction or upscaling process. This research applies inverse backpropagation to help improve the quality of image reconstruction results on bilinear interpolation. The test results show a much better MSE value of up to 40.25% compared to reconstruction using ordinary bilinear interpolation. Meanwhile, the increase in PSNR obtained ranged from 0.4% - 9.7%.

Abstract

Penggunaan media short message service (SMS) untuk komunikasi masih sangat banyak. Hal itu terjadi dikarenakan beberapa faktor, seperti tarif yang murah, bonus yang diberikan serta kemudahan dalam penggunaan. Namun, faktor-faktor tersebut menjadikan layanan SMS dimanfaatkan untuk melakukan tindakan kriminal, salah satunya adalah SMS penipuan. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan sebuah sistem yang dapat mengklasifikasi SMS yang termasuk spam atau bukan spam. Dalam penelitian ini Dataset SMS yang digunakan adalah Dataset SMS berbahasa Indonesia. Untuk pembobotan teks menggunakan metode TF-IDF dan Cosine Similarity untuk metode perhitungan jarak. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa aplikasi yang mampu mengklasifikasi SMS Spam Bahasa Indonesia Menggunakan Algoritma K-Nearest Neighbor

Abstract

brought in significant revenue for traders and tourism operators in Berastagi. Unfortunately,many visitors often get lost on their way to their destinations, highlighting the need forinformation regarding public transportation in Berastagi. This research aims to design a websitethat provides information about public transportation, route options, and applicable fare rates.The goal is to ensure that visitors to Berastagi can explore the city's attractions with ease andconfidence. Qualitative research methods with a case study approach were employed for thisstudy. Interviews were conducted with station personnel from various public transportationproviders using purposive sampling techniques. The research resulted in a user-friendly websitethat assists users in finding transportation options that meet their needs. Station personnel citedthe lack of inquiries from visitors and the absence of clear information on public transportationroutes as reasons for visitors choosing the wrong mode of transportation. In conclusion, thisresearch has developed a comprehensive web application that offers information on variouspublic transportation choices based on users' destinations when visiting Berastagi. Based on the survey questionnaire conducted by the author with 15 users of the website that has been created,it is concluded that satisfaction in using the website according to its function reaches 90%, whichis stated as excellent.

Abstract

Image capture often experiences problems which can be caused by errors in the camera lens or dirt in the image. This interference is called noise or noise. Noise makes an image unclear and damages the quality of an image. There are many types of noise in images, one of which is salt and pepper noise. This noise will give black and white spots on the image like a sprinkling of salt caused by bit errors when sending data, or damage to the storage area so that filtering is needed on the image to improve the image quality to be better than the original image. The filtering technique used for noisy images is arithmetic mean filter and convolution. Arithmetic mean filtering improves image quality by replacing the pixel value with the average value of its neighboring pixels, while the image convolution technique gives a new value to each pixel by performing several calculation functions from that pixel to the pixels around it. To measure the filtered noise which has decreased, the MSE and PSNR parameters are used. The results obtained through MSE and PSNR which are better used in reducing noise are the arithmetic mean filter. The arithmetic mean filter makes images with salt and pepper noise experience a decrease as seen from the resulting PSNR value which is higher, namely 52% compared to the convolution PSNR value of 47%.

Abstract

Information technology was developed by humans in prehistoric times and functions as a system for recognizing the forms they are familiar with. They describe the information they get on cave walls, about hunting and the animals they hunt. Until now, information technology continues to develop, but its delivery and form are more modern. Technology can be interpreted as all processes carried out in an effort to realize something rationally. In this case, what is meant by something can be an application, machine, data or game. One way that can be done to integrate learning with technology that is interesting, fun, flexible and easier for students to accept is by using games in the learning process.

Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) applications have become a technology that has become increasingly popular and developed rapidly in recent years. Virtual Reality allows users to experience and interact with immersive and immersive virtual environments. One interesting use of Virtual Reality is in learning geometric shapes (blocks, cubes and balls). Learning to build space usually only takes the form of pictures which are limited to teaching materials, either books or modules. The Blender and Unity 3D applications can be used in designing virtual reality building applications. Blender is a powerful open source software for 3D modeling and animation.

Abstract

Increasing the number of students in tertiary institutions is the main focus for university administrators in planning development strategies and better educational services. Predicting future student numbers is important in the context of long-term planning and strategic decision making in higher education institutions. This research aims to predict the number of students at Harapan University, Medan in 2024 based on historical data from 2017 to 2023 using the least squares method. The least squares prediction method is used to fit a linear regression model that connects the independent variable (year) with the dependent variable (number of students). Historical data on the number of students over a specified time period is used to develop an accurate forecasting model. The research results show that based on the least squares model adjusted to historical data, the increase in the number of students at Harapan Medan University is projected to be 14.17% in 2024. The results of this prediction provide valuable insight for university managers in planning and implementing promotional strategies, resource allocation , and plans for new student admissions. By better understanding student growth trends, universitiescan improve operational efficiency, optimize academic and administrative services, and strengthen their position in the higher education market. This research has important implications for higher education management in the context of strategic planning and development of educational institutions.

Abstract

Learning the structure and function of plants is done to achieve the basic competencies (KD)studied. Learning the structure and function of plant tissues can be carried out well with aninteresting learning interaction between educators and students. Therefore, there is somethingnew by using Augemented reality (AR) which makes learning more interesting and will fosterthe interest of students. The problems studied by researchers about how the description of theneeds of Augemented reality-based simulations on plant tissue structure and how the validityand practicality of Augemented reality-based simulation media development with Marker-basedtracking method in plant tissue structure lessons. Later with the problems studied by the authorshave a goal that the use of Augemented reality later in simulation media can provide a betterlearning experience that is interesting and interactive for students and students can use mobiledevices or tablets that are commonly used when accessing AR simulations. Analysis of systemproblems that are being researched by the author using software and hardware that helps to work on Augemented reality for new learning for students about learning the structure andfunction of plant tissues that contain 3D information. The results of the research obtained by theauthor can make Augemented reality applications to increase the interest of students bydisplaying 3D images and containing more interesting information to increase students to learnin the future. Abstract

Shallots exhibit heightened sensitivity to temperature and humidity compared to other onion varieties. Extreme climate change poses significant challenges for shallot farmers, leading to substantial losses. Adverse climatic conditions negatively impact the drying process, hampering its effectiveness. To address these issues, technological advancements offer opportunities for shallot farmers to optimize time, energy, and space utilization. Leveraging microcontroller technology enables the development of an efficient drying system for shallots. The utilization of the DHT11 Sensor technology proves highly advantageous in achieving quick and efficient drying of shallots. Various electronic devices and components, such as Arduino Uno, Stepdown, DHT11 Sensor, Heater, Rotary Encoder, Driver Relay, LCD, and DC Fan, are carefully integrated to construct the Onion Dryer. This innovative tool not only enhances the efficiency of the shallot drying process but also provides convenience for home-based shallot farmers. Consequently, the Onion Dryer plays a pivotal role in assisting farmers in maximizing crop yield, improving quality, and enhancing overall productivity. Moreover, the tool offers user-friendly operation, ensuring ease of use.

Abstract

Augmented Reality to create a new environment by combining the interactivity of real and virtual environments in real time so that users feel that the environment created is real. The model used in this research refers to the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) type development model with 5 stages, namely Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, Testing and Distribution. The conventional learning process has been transformed into a digital form. One example is learning media, learning media is an effort designed in the learning process where material that is difficult to understand becomes easier to understand. To make it look more interesting, this learning media is made in the form of Augmented Reality. The results of this scientific work produce an application for learning about the structure of the earth's layers in the form of 3D Augmented Reality based on android, where when designing researchers use blender, unity 3D and vuforia applications.
