Abstract

This study examined the nature, causes and management of the conflict between students of Federal University Oye-Ekiti and the host community Oye-Ekiti, and also evaluated the various conflict management strategies adopted for resolving the conflict. The phenomenon of conflict between students of higher institutions and their host communities is becoming rampant in Nigeria. Little emphasis is also placed on the various strategies used in managing the conflict. Both primary and secondary means of data collection were adopted for the study. The secondary source included published books, journals and online materials while the primary source involved the use of structured questionnaire administered randomly to hundred (100) respondents which were retrieved and analysed through the use of descriptive method. Findings revealed that economic deprivation, excessive exploitation of students by host communities and disrespect of students for traditions and laws in the society are triggers of the conflict. Various conflict management strategies such as mediation, negotiation and conciliation were adopted in the resolution of the conflict which were effective and binding on the two parties. Abstract

The word "istiwa'" in the Qur'an is a term that is rich in meaning and often appears in the context of mutasyabihat verses, where it contains different nuances in each use. With nine occurrences, each verse that uses this term requires a deep understanding to reveal its essence and implications. This study aims to analyse the meaning of istiwa' with the Qur'anic semantic approach developed by Toshihiko Izutsu. Qur'anic semantics, in this context, serves as a tool to reveal the worldview (weltanschauung) of the Qur'an through in-depth analysis of key vocabulary. The methods used include syntagmatic and paradigmatic analyses to explore the basic meaning and relational meaning of the term istiwa'. The research also includes a historical study of the use of this vocabulary in pre-Qur'anic, Qur'anic and post-Qur'anic contexts, in order to provide a comprehensive picture of the evolution and interpretation of this term over time. The results of this research are expected to make a significant contribution in understanding the concept of istiwa' in the Qur'an, as well as enriching the scientific discourse on Qur'anic semantics. Through this approach, it is hoped that new insights will emerge that can deepen the understanding of the attributes of God, as well as their relevance in the context of contemporary Islamic theology.

Abstract

This research discusses the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) to improve student learning outcomes in learning science and technology regarding plant body parts in class IV.C at SDN 176 Palembang. The research was carried out using the classroom action research (PTK) method which includes two cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research results show a significant increase in student learning completion after implementing PBL. Before the cycle, only 40% of students had completed the KKM, increasing to 64% in the first cycle and 88% in the second cycle. PBL has proven to be effective in increasing students' understanding and motivating them to think critically and creatively in solving problems related to science material.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has significantly impacted higher education, including at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Students often face administrative and communication challenges during their academic journey, particularly from the proposal stage to graduation. To address these issues, the "Kita Sarjana" application was developed as an integrated digital solution. This application facilitates various academic needs, including mentoring management, document submission, registration, and financial information management. The research utilized the waterfall development model, involving analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance phases. The results indicate that the application successfully enhances the efficiency of academic processes and provides a better user experience through an intuitive interface design. Thus, the "Kita Sarjana" application represents a critical innovation in supporting a digitally-driven higher education ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the diagnostic ability of ICP science students FMIPA UNM in the Electricity and Magnetism course. This research uses descriptive research with a Quizizz-based qualitative approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection technique used in this study was a multiple choice diagnostic test accessed through the Quizizz platform online. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, and average) and item analysis (index of difficulty and differentiating power of the questions. Quizizz-based diagnostic tests for electrical and magnetic topics are effective enough to evaluate students' initial abilities. Most questions have a moderate difficulty level and sufficient to good differentiating power; however, some questions have low or negative differentiating power and need to be corrected. The results showed that students' diagnostic ability in Electricity And Magnetism’s Course using quizziz platform was at 5,0 score which in a low category. This research serves as a basis for the development of better diagnostic tests to achieve learning objectives.
