Abstract

Teacher professionalism is widely recognized as a critical determinant of educational quality, yet empirical evidence indicates persistent gaps between expected professional competencies and their actual enactment during teaching practice. This study aims to analyze the professional competencies of Teacher Professional Education students during their teaching practicum at State Senior High School 8 Pontianak, with particular attention to how these competencies are developed and manifested in real classroom contexts. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytic approach with a case study design, data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using interactive thematic analysis. The results reveal that while students demonstrated adequate professional conduct and basic instructional competence, their competencies were largely procedural, with limited pedagogical adaptability, critical reflection, and collaborative professionalism. Classroom management and instructional planning were implemented formally yet often lacked responsiveness to students’ learning dynamics. Reflective practice and mentoring interactions were found to be insufficiently developed, constraining deeper professional learning. The study concludes that teaching practice provides an essential foundation for professional competence but remains suboptimal in fostering reflective, adaptive, and collaborative dimensions of professionalism. This research contributes scientifically by offering context-specific empirical evidence on practicum-based competency development and by emphasizing the need to reconceptualize teaching practice as a structured professional learning space.

Abstract

This study examines the aesthetic transformation of Zapin dance within the perspective of Malay-Javanese culture in the Nusantara region. The research aims to explore how the interaction between Arab, Malay, and Javanese cultural elements shapes the form, meaning, and aesthetic values of Zapin dance. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using ethnocoreological methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with dance practitioners, direct observation of performances, and literature review. The analysis focuses on movement patterns, costumes, musical elements, and song lyrics, interpreted through a cultural and aesthetic framework. The results reveal that Zapin dance has undergone significant transformation influenced by cultural interactions along maritime trade routes. The dance demonstrates a synthesis of Arab rhythmic structures, Malay aesthetic sensibilities, and Javanese cultural expressions, which are reflected in its movement, costume design, and musical composition. The findings indicate that Zapin dance is not only an artistic performance but also a cultural medium that embodies values of identity, morality, and social harmony. This transformation reflects the dynamic process of cultural adaptation and continuity within Malay-Javanese society.

Abstract

This study explores conflict transformation practices and actors through an analytical research approach. It reveals that various actors engaged in conflict and peace initiatives have primarily focused on activities cantered around conflict management, prevention, and resolution. This limited emphasis on conflict transformation is attributed to a lack of governmental attention to strategic planning in this regard. Sources of conflict identified include grievances, animal raiding, land disputes, fishing rights, and competition over water and pasture resources. Efforts aimed at conflict transformation encompass resilience-building, rangeland management, NGO interventions in peace dialogues, integration of pastoralism and agro-pastoralism with commercial agriculture, implementation of drought and conflict early warning systems, water resource management and development, range land rehabilitation, and provision of education to affected communities. While these activities have played a significant role in addressing conflicts and transforming relationships, they are deemed insufficient and inadequately executed for comprehensive conflict transformation. Nonetheless, they serve as vital drivers of peace. Although the current conflict transformation mechanisms in place have not resulted in significant changes in the conflict situation, the beginnings are promising and commendable. The government and other stakeholders are urged to engage in proactive conflict intervention mechanisms to effectuate conflict transformation and foster peace or mitigate its adverse impacts. Furthermore, the study advocates for the provision of informal peace education to all adult community members, with the possibility of formalizing this education as an existing conflict transformation option.

Abstract

The implementation of the university's philosophy, vision, mission, goals, objectives, and core values (PVMGOC) and student internalization highlight the crucial role these elements play in shaping student experiences and outcomes. This study examines the level of implementation and internalization of the university's philosophy, vision, mission, goals, objectives, and core values (PVMGOC) within the Basic Education Department in one of the institutions in Ozamis City. This study utilized descriptive- correlational design and was conducted on 416 students from the Basic Education department who were selected through stratified random sampling. A researcher-made questionnaire on the implementation and internalization of the PVMGOC was used to gather the data. Mean, Standard Deviation, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were the statistical tools used in the study to analyze the collected data. The results reveal that the university's level of implementation of the PVMGOC was very high, with students showing an equally high level of internalization of these values. Furthermore, the analysis found a highly significant relationship between the degree of implementation and the level of internalization among students. The findings suggest that the university’s effective implementation of its PVMGOC has led to a strong integration of these core elements into both institutional practices and student behavior, demonstrating how essential these principles are in shaping the academic and personal development of students.

Abstract

The Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) has significantly accelerated the rapid development of electronic payment systems in Indonesia, accelerating the country's transition to a cashless economy. However, the majority of recent evaluations have focused on measuring adoption rates and transaction volumes, thereby ignoring the complex effects of QRIS on small business operations. By developing a quantitative framework for Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) that goes beyond simple descriptive analysis in assessing the contributions of QRIS, this study aims to close the research gap. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), whose criteria weights were determined using the Geometric Mean Method, were both used in an applied quantitative technique to rank MSME performance. This analysis analyzed six criteria: financial transparency, consumer trust and digital literacy, cost reduction, revenue growth, transactional efficiency, and formal financing. The findings indicate that revenue growth and formal funding were identified as the most significant criteria, each with a weight of 0.20, and that the results derived from the AHP had an adequate consistency level (CR = 0.067). With the top performance achieving a closeness coefficient of 1.000, the TOPSIS technique ranks the five MSMEs as follows: A5 > A3 > A4 > A1 > A2. By shifting the emphasis from access to measurable performance outcomes, the findings promote financial inclusion theory and support digital payment ecosystem theory by highlighting the importance of organizational capability in attaining fintech advantages. Policy implications suggest that targeted MSME capacity-building and credit-linkage integration should be implemented in tandem with the expansion of QRIS. Overall, the study demonstrates that performance-based MCDA evaluation offers a strict foundation for regulating digital payments in emerging economies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze disparities in the achievement of the VUK-to-Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) ratio across provinces in Indonesia through target-achievement gap analysis and regional quadrant mapping. This study employs a descriptive-evaluative quantitative approach using secondary data from 38 provinces in Indonesia. The analysis covers historical data from 2020 to 2024, target and achievement data from 2025 to 2026, and target/projection data from 2027 to 2029 as a policy context. The analytical techniques include descriptive statistics, trend analysis, gap analysis, ranking analysis, and quadrant mapping. The results show that the national VUK-to-GRDP ratio declined from 1.10 in 2020 to 0.97 in 2024. National achievement also remained below the target, with a gap of -0.08 in 2025, widening to -0.13 in 2026. At the provincial level, substantial disparities were observed. Several provinces, including East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Java, East Kalimantan, and South Sulawesi, recorded positive gaps in 2025, while Papua Highlands, Central Papua, South Papua, Papua, and Bali recorded the largest negative gaps. The 2025 quadrant mapping shows that 13 provinces are classified as leading regions, 6 as potential regions, 6 as under-optimized regions, and 13 as priority intervention regions. These findings indicate that policies to improve the VUK-to-GRDP ratio should be designed based on regional characteristics rather than a uniform national approach. This study contributes by integrating trend analysis, target-achievement gap analysis, and regional quadrant mapping as a basis for evaluating interprovincial disparities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of an integrated curriculum at Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar, which combines the national curriculum, the Ministry of Religious Affairs curriculum, and the ISMUBA curriculum. The research focuses on curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving pesantren leaders, teachers, and students. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings reveal that the integrated curriculum was systematically planned and implemented through learning activities and boarding school programs that emphasize not only academic achievement but also Islamic values, character building, and students’ skills. Evaluation was conducted comprehensively by assessing academic, attitudinal, and practical competencies. Supporting factors included teacher competence, the boarding school system, and institutional policy support, whereas challenges involved students’ learning burden, limited instructional time, and differences in teachers’ ability to integrate the curricula. Overall, the study concludes that the success of the integrated curriculum implementation depends on the synergy between planning, implementation, and evaluation in developing students with strong character, academic competence, and the ability to apply Islamic values in daily life.
