Abstract

The decline in religious activity among young people in many countries and the influence of secularization in today's culture highlight the urgency of faith education. Data shows a trend of declining religious involvement among younger generations, and in some communities, the challenges of maintaining faith in an increasingly secular culture are becoming more pronounced. Harvey Cox proposed the concept of secularization as liberation from the influence of religion and metaphysical thought, with an emphasis on the difference between secularization and secularism. This approach creates space for a deeper understanding of religious values and the application of these values in everyday life. Faith education is the key to overcoming this challenge. In the Islamic context, faith education helps bridge the gap between secularization and religious values, enabling young generations to understand and integrate their beliefs in the context of an increasingly secular world. This approach is not just about replacing religion but rather about developing freer thinking in living the world.   Keywords: Islamic faith education, secularism, social problems

Abstract

Dalam konteks global yang semakin kompleks, pemahaman komunikasi moderasi beragama menjadi semakin penting. Sebagai kelompok sufi yang berasal dari Islam, Thriqah Alawiyah sangat berperan dalam mendorong moderasi beragama dan toleransi. Pemahaman moderasi beragama dalam Thariqah Alawiyah dibahas dalam artikel ini melalui analisis literatur. Studi ini menyelidiki ide moderasi beragama dalam Thariqah Alawiyah, menemukan prinsip-prinsip utama yang mendasari konsep tersebut, dan menunjukkan bagaimana konsep-konsep ini tercermin dalam ajaran dan praktik Thariqah Alawiyah. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang pemahaman moderasi beragama dalam konteks Thariqah Alawiyah dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kajian pustaka. Penelitian ini akan memberikan landasan bagi upaya untuk membangun masyarakat yang inklusif dan harmonis di mana perbedaan agama digunakan untuk membangun perdamaian dan toleransi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article discusses da'wah through print media (Bi Al-Kitabah). This paper aims to determine the effectiveness of spreading da'wah through print media, namely newspapers. In Islamic boarding schools, newspapers become an alternative medium for students to channel their thoughts and share knowledge. Being in the Pesantren environment does not close the boundaries for students in developing their insights. The development of technology today requires the younger generation to become an innovative and highly intellectual generation. Print media must now follow the flow of the times to maintain the existence of the media, one of which is by maintaining the actuality of writing. In the Nurul Jadid Paiton Islamic boarding school in Probolinggo – especially in the Qur'an Education Center of Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School, print media is the main media that is efficient and effective in disseminating information and knowledge for readers. In this descriptive qualitative research, researchers use data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation from both offline and online sources. Based on the analysis of the collected data, it can be concluded that the use of print media in the form of newspapers in Islamic boarding schools can have a good impact on the development of knowledge, productivity of written works, and the effectiveness of spreading da'wah.   Keywords: Effectiveness, Da'wah Bi al-Kitabah, Print Media   ABSTRAK Artikel ini membahas dakwah melalui media cetak (Bi Al-Kitabah). Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penyebaran dakwah melalui media cetak, yaitu surat kabar. Di pesantren, koran menjadi media alternatif bagi santri untuk menyalurkan pikiran dan berbagi ilmu. Berada di lingkungan Pesantren tidak menutup batasan bagi mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan wawasannya. Perkembangan teknologi saat ini menuntut generasi muda untuk menjadi generasi yang inovatif dan intelektual tinggi. Media cetak kini harus mengikuti arus zaman untuk mempertahankan eksistensi media tersebut, salah satunya dengan menjaga aktualitas tulisan. Di pondok pesantren Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo – khususnya di Pusat Pendidikan Al-Qur'an Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, media cetak merupakan media utama yang efisien dan efektif dalam menyebarluaskan informasi dan pengetahuan bagi pembaca. Dalam penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini, peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi baik dari sumber offline maupun online. Berdasarkan analisis data yang terkumpul, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media cetak berupa surat kabar di pondok pesantren dapat berdampak baik bagi pengembangan pengetahuan, produktivitas karya tulis, dan efektivitas penyebaran dakwah.   Kata kunci: Efektivitas, Dakwah Bi al-Kitabah, Media Cetak

Abstract

Pernikahan adalah institusi suci dalam agama Islam yang memiliki dampak mendalam pada kehidupan individu. Surah At-Talaq membahas aspek perceraian dalam Al-Qur'an. "Barang siapa bertakwa kepada Allah, niscaya Dia akan mengadakan baginya jalan keluar. Dan memberinya rezeki dari arah yang tidak disangka-sangkanya". Surah ini menekankan pentingnya perlakuan adil terhadap istri, terutama selama masa iddah. Suami diingatkan untuk tidak menyalahgunakan talak sebagai alat untuk menyakiti atau menzalimi istri. "Hendaklah orang yang mempunyai kelapangan memberikan nafkah menurut lapang rezekinya dan orang yang rezekinya sempit, hendaklah memberikan nafkah dari harta yang diberikan Allah kepadanya". Metode Penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Dan menggunakan analisis data keabsahan data, reduksi data dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian misteri ekonomi dalam pernikahan sering kali berkaitan dengan bagaimana pasangan dapat mengelola perbedaan, komunikasi terbuka, dan kemampuan untuk bekerja sama dalam mencapai tujuan keuangan bersama. Komunikasi yang baik, keadilan, dan perencanaan yang matang dapat membantu menjawab sejumlah misteri dan mengatasi tantangan yang mungkin muncul dalam konteks ekonomi pernikahan.

Abstract

Covid 19 Pandemic restricts public sphere, and make a significant change in every sector of society life. Also in religious activity, include recitation activity for Moslem people. Since public restriction policy applied in Jakarta by the government, Majelis Taklim (MT) Tazkiyatun Nafs transform the recitation acktivity in to virtual sphere by using zoom application. The communication pattern also changes in to virtual interaction which meaning trough some process. The process consists of perception, role taking, and meaning of symbols in online recitation. This research uses qualitative approach with netnography method. The techniques of this research consist of file data, elicited data, dan field note. The results are perception process based on the interpretation of spiritual need and pandemic situation influence the action to participated in online recitation. The role taking reflected based on the participant interpretation in social structure. The meaning of symbols process influenced by role taking. For communicator the process occurred inside and outside virtual room, while for communicant the process occurred outside the virtual room.

Abstract

Painting is an art form of beauty has become increasingly crucial to convey Islamic messages and values in the new digital, da’wah media in the digital era, indicating in broadcasting Islam with various forms of methods, one of which is through painting (sign). This digital da’wah is a trend in society, especially the younger generation, the tendency to learn religion through social media. This research investigates the role of paintings in Islamic preaching. taking a case study of paintings on artists on the Instagram account "@_Zukkk". This research aims to analyze how the art by Zukkk plays an important role to starting da'wah in a unique way to convey Islamic values and its impact on viewers' understanding and interaction on the Instagram. This research used by Roland Barthes' semiotic study, which is a continuation of Saussure's thought in introducing the concept of connotation and denotation is the key to analysis. The results show that Zukkk's paintings have a very crucial role in da’wah Islam using a unique way. Through the expression of painting, Zukkk succeeds in providing Islamic messages, such as kindness, justice, patience, to inspiring his followers. Positive responses and powerful interactions, the many people who use the Instagram platform indicate the effectiveness of painting as a medium for delivering da’wah. Abstract

In the modern era, which is increasingly influenced by dominant secular culture, Generation Z faces significant challenges in maintaining and developing their spiritual and religious values. In this context, transformative preaching emerges as a promising approach to respond to this secular trend in a relevant and meaningful way. This research aims to explore the potential of transformative preaching in responding to the secular trend among Generation Z. We seek to understand how transformative preaching can assist Generation Z in finding meaning, depth, and spiritual direction in their lives, which are saturated with secular influences. The research methodology employed is qualitative, involving in-depth interviews and participatory observation with a sample group of Generation Z actively engaged in transformative preaching activities. Data analysis is conducted using an inductive approach to identify patterns and key findings. The main findings indicate that transformative preaching holds great potential in helping Generation Z overcome the challenges of secularism. The inclusive and open approach of transformative preaching creates a supportive environment for Generation Z to explore and deepen their understanding of spirituality. Additionally, the development of moral values and the utilization of social media and digital technology have proven effective in forming inclusive and supportive communities. This research makes a significant contribution to understanding the role of transformative preaching in responding to secular trends among Generation Z. These findings can aid in the development of more effective and relevant preaching programs to guide Generation Z in their search for meaning and spiritual direction in their complex lives.

Abstract

This research aims to generalize and find things that are implicit in the world of da'wah in the era of digitalization and disruption of the largest community organization in Islam, namely Nahdlatul Ulama. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach to examine the problematics and focus on the research conducted. the focus of this research is to obtain elementary information about the scope of social reality towards the existence of Nahdlatul Ulama da'wah integrated with the digital world and disruption. In this study, it is found that in preaching there are various problems faced today, such as competition, significant social change, and confrontation between groups. Regulation in preaching, Nahdlatul Ulama highly prefers digital platforms to provide relevant and conformist canalization to the community while maintaining the noble values of its founders to contemporary times. Thus, the existence of Nahdlatul Ulama is maintained and sturdy for generations, despite the modernization and westernization inherent in the aspects of globalization, besides the quantity and quality of Nahdlatul Ulama looks increasingly expansive geographically. Therefore, further research is expected to provide new insights into the influence of Nahdlatul Ulama in the religious aspects of society both in the aspect of da'wah in the world of digitalization which is implied in the education of Muslims.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of podcasts on millennial engagement with Islamic teachings, investigating how this digital medium influences religious education, community-building, and identity formation. Through interviews, surveys, and content analysis, the study reveals that podcasts play a significant role in enhancing accessibility to Islamic knowledge, offering millennials a flexible and personalized avenue for learning and exploration. Diverse content preferences among millennials highlight the importance of tailoring podcast content to meet the varied needs of the audience, ranging from theological discussions to practical advice on applying Islamic principles. Moreover, Islamic podcasts foster online communities where millennials connect, seek guidance, and engage in religious discourse, strengthening their commitment to faith and promoting social connection. Trust in podcast hosts and content creators emerges as a key factor influencing millennials' engagement and shaping their religious beliefs. Furthermore, podcasts featuring global perspectives contribute to intercultural understanding and appreciation for the diversity within the Muslim community. While podcasts offer numerous benefits for millennial engagement with Islamic teachings, challenges such as content quality and misinformation underscore the importance of addressing these issues to maximize the educational value and impact of Islamic podcasts in the digital age.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences in the thoughts of HMI Lafran Pane (LP) and PMII Mahbub Djunaidi (MD) regarding religious moderation da'wah. This research is library research and comparative qualitative research by analyzing two figures. Primary sources are all LP and MD works, and other works related to the theme as secondary sources. The results of this study stated that; 1) the thoughts of Lafran Pane as the initiator of HMI and Mahbub Djunaidi as the founder of PMII represent religious moderation behavior, especially in national commitment, 2) both figures have a positive influence on the next generation in each organization. Like Nurcholish Madjid, HMI, and KH cadres. Ahmad Bagja, a cadre of PMII, 3) PMII presented the da'wah of moderation in the sphere of nationalism while HMI had an attitude and nature of moderation. Both organizations have similar ideologies regarding the meaning of moderation both in the sphere of religion as well as nationality and state. The importance of moderation is because Indonesia is a plural country with a variety of races and tribes, if this plurality is not maintained and considered as a positive thing we should be grateful for the impact that will harm all people. If you do not have a moderate nature, there will be divisions due to different ideas, behaviors, and beliefs. So the goal is to know and understand how students do not tend to be conservative in groups according to individual beliefs. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis persamaan dan perbedaan pemikiran HMI Lafran Pane (LP) dan PMII Mahbub Djunaidi (MD) tentang dakwah moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dan penelitian kualitatif komparatif dengan menganalisis dua tokoh. Sumber primer adalah semua karya LP dan MD, dan karya lain yang berkaitan dengan tema sebagai sumber sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa; 1) pemikiran Lafran Pane sebagai penggagas HMI dan Mahbub Djunaidi selaku pendiri PMII merepresentasikan perilaku moderasi beragama khususnya dalam komitmen kebangsaan, 2) kedua tokoh sama-sama memberikan pengaruh positif bagi generasi berikutnya di masing-masing organisasi. Seperti Nurcholish Madjid kader HMI dan KH. Ahmad Bagja kader PMII, 3) PMII mempresentasikan dakwah moderasi di lingkup nasionalisme sedangkan HMI mempnyai sikap dan sifat moderasi. Kedua organisasi memiliki ideologi serupa terkait makna moderasi baik dalam lingkup agama juga kebangsaan dan bernegara. Pentingnya moderasi sebab Indonesia merupakan negara yang plural dengan beraneka ragam ras dan suku, kemajemukan tersebut jika tidak dipelihara dan dinilai sebagai hal positif yang patut disyukuri dampaknya akan merugikan seluruh oknum. Jika tidak memiliki sifat moderat akan terjadi perpecahan akibat berbedanya gagasan, tingkah laku, dan keyakinan. Maka tujuannya untuk mengetahui dan memahami bagaimana mahasiswa tidak cenderung konservatif berkelompok-kelompok sesuai keyakinan individu.
