Abstract

The main focus of this discussion is to examine the attitude of Saint Francis of Assisi and Sultan Malik al-Kamil in building tolerance between religions, especially in West Borneo. St. Francis of Assisi's concern for the war that claimed so many lives at that time, made him feel that humans had begun to forget the social value of other people's lives so that an attitude of mutual suspicion arose within themselves to bring each other down through their religious beliefs. Religion is a personal human affair with God, not a human affair that interferes with the affairs of other human beings with the God they believe in. Therefore, if there is someone who interferes in such matters, a different ideological understanding will emerge. The government is trying to promote a prosperous life by daring to accept the differences that exist in Indonesia. The interreligious dialogue that was created aims to provide answers to the problems that occur to create peace. The goal to be achieved from this research is to build a lively dialogue that overrides religious ideology that leads to acts of tolerance towards others. Therefore, it is necessary for the Indonesian people to first understand what is meant by dialogue. Dialogue is understood as an artistic value in understanding when discussing the meaning, when someone conveys something, it is hoped that it will be responded with sympathy for the other person. If this is not done, then the dialogue is only limited to ordinary discussions or only to dispel suspicions. The novelty of this research is to examine and reflect on the attitude of the meeting of Saints and Sultans in building peace in maintaining the value of life in humans, which at this time has also begun to be forgotten due to differences.

Abstract

The central role of parents in the lives of children cannot be replaced or delegated to other individuals or parties. Parents in the GKJ Jeruklegi Margi Rahayu congregation have not fully fulfilled this role. This study aims to determine the role of parents as spiritual educators in shaping the morals and faith of children in the Javanese Christian Church throughout the South Banyumas Classis and to understand the influence of parents' role as spiritual educators on the formation of morals and faith of children in the Javanese Christian Church throughout the South Banyumas Classis. The research method used in this study is qualitative. Based on analysis using Nvivo 12 Software, it is concluded that the role of parents in spiritually educating and accompanying children significantly influences children's relationship with God; The support and advice given by parents to children play a crucial role in shaping the spiritual formation of children and helping family members find a better way of life; Parental guidance and advice demonstrate the family's function in maintaining a harmonious relationship between parents and children; Guidance and advice as important approaches in educating and shaping the faith and morals of children are based on harmonious relationships; In teaching and parenting, parents must understand the importance of using technology wisely in educating children, especially in facing online challenges, and cooperation between husband and wife in instilling religious values in children through everyday experiences.

Abstract

This article explores life transformation through habit transformation, focusing on Daniel's perspective in facing cultural diversity. By examining the impact of sin on humanity and the coercion faced by displaced nations, Daniel serves as an illustration that negative experiences can be the best teachers for behavioral change. The article underscores that changing habits requires effective efforts, especially within the framework of cultural diversity. Consistency, patience, and awareness of the adverse consequences of habits are key to successfully shaping a resilient character. By presenting novel ideas on life transformation, the article provides a unique perspective on Daniel's journey in confronting cultural diversity.

Abstract

The teaching of the inerrancy of the Bible is important for all believers to understand because it relates to the foundation for the Christian faith. The Bible is a reference for believers in making decisions when facing doubts about Faith. If the foundation is not strong, it can be ascertained that there is a wrong decision making. Rejecting the doctrine of inerrancy can result in the denial of other Christian doctrines. The problem that occurs is the rejection of the innocence of the Bible, especially among the Higher Criticism. But the existence of the Bible is still recognized and believed by Christians today. In understanding this writing, quantitative methods are used with literature studies by examining various representative sources related to the issue of inerrancy based on the Higher Criticism’s view of the Inerrancy of the Bible.

Abstract

This article delves into the notion of reconciliation as presented in Christian doctrine and examines its significance in the context of religious moderation for promoting interfaith harmony in Indonesia. The objective of this study is to elucidate the principles of reconciliation within Christian teachings and discern the implications of this concept within the realm of religious moderation. The research methodology employed is a literature review, with a primary focus on analyzing the theology of reconciliation and its incorporation into religious moderation. The findings of this research underscore that Christian teachings concerning reconciliation encompass values such as forgiveness, peace, and inner transformation. These values align with the essence of religious moderation, which encourages dialogue, tolerance, and interfaith cooperation. The implications of these reconciliation principles from Christian teachings for religious moderation exhibit substantial potential in fostering interfaith harmony in Indonesia. To attain this objective, it is evident that these teachings play a pivotal role in shaping an all-encompassing and peaceful society within the context of existing religious diversity, thereby offering significant potential to fortify the harmonious coexistence of various religions in Indonesia.

Abstract

The phenomenon of interfaith marriage continues to occur in the midst of the plurality of Indonesian society. This of course can affect the faith of young Christians, if they choose the wrong life partner. Parents are obliged to educate their children according to the Christian faith. The choice of a life partner for young Christian youths should be in line with God's design for their lives, so that the future of the new family will inherit the Christian faith. The author conducted library research to collect information about the role of parents in educating children and choosing a life partner according to the Christian faith. The results of the study state that the part of parents is to educate their children to fear God, to be obedient in doing His will, and always to hope and rely on God; will form the divine character in the person of a child. So that in the end they can choose a life partner correctly and can make the decision to commit to marriage, according to the advice of their parents and the leading of the Holy Spirit in their life.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with various diversity, one of which is the diversity of beliefs. The potential for blind fanaticism exists in every belief. Even in Christianity there can be blind fanaticism, thus viewing oneself exclusively towards people from other groups. It is recorded in the Bible that God gave a vision to the Apostle Peter in Joppa, so that he would welcome the arrival of Cornelius' messenger, a group that differed in nationality and creed. The idea of accepting others as a theological reflection of Peter's vision has never been reported in previous research and is interesting to examine to bring about diversity tolerance. With a qualitative approach that uses the hermeneutic method of the biblical text, theological principles are found from the vision of the Apostle Peter. The implication of these theological principles is the need for the proper attitude of Christians in welcoming others, that is, a church that converts, a church that continues to learn, and a church that accepts others without prejudice. Indonesia adalah negara dengan berbagai keragaman, salah satunya adalah keragaman keyakinan. Potensi terjadinya fanatisme buta ada pada setiap keyakinan. Bahkan dalam kekristenan pun dapat terjadi fanatisme buta, sehingga memandang diri eksklusif terhadap orang dari kelompok lain. Dicatat dalam Alkitab bahwa Tuhan memberikan penglihatan kepada Rasul Petrus di Yope, agar ia mau menyambut kedatangan utusan Kornelius, kelompok yang berbeda dari segi kebangsaan dan keyakinan. Gagasan penerimaan kaum liyan sebagai refleksi teologis dari penglihatan Petrus belum pernah dilaporkan dalam penelitian sebelumnya, dan menarik untuk diteliti dalam rangka mewujudkan toleransi keberagaman. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang menggunakan metode hermeneutika terhadap teks Alkitab, ditemukan prinsip-prinsip teologis dari penglihatan Rasul Petrus tersebut. Implikasi dari prinsip-prinsip teologis ini adalah perlunya sikap yang tepat dari orang Kristen dalam menyambut kaum liyan, yaitu gereja yang bertobat, gereja yang terus belajar, dan gereja yang menerima kaum liyan tanpa prasangka.

Abstract

Conflict is an inevitability in human life. Conflict has become an integrated condition in individual and communal life, including in the church. The congregation’s understanding of conflict greatly influences their attitudes or actions towards the conflict itself. In general, congregations have a less open understanding of conflict. Conflict is understood as a situation that should not occur, an embarrassing situation, or also a situation that only produces a destructive or devastating impact. Such understandings make conflict increasingly difficult to manage. This paper aims to investigate ecclesiastical conflict, which will be carried out using qualitative research methods with literature study. The ecclesiastical conflict that often occur certainly cannot be denied or avoided. Investigating church conflict from a psychological perspective offers a new perspective, where church conflict that occurs in any context can be understood by exploring the psychological elements that each person involved in the conflict situation has. This research examines ecclesiastical conflict from a psychological perspective proposed by Paul Randolph. According to the author, Paul Randolph’s conflict psychology can produce an open understanding of ecclesiastical conflict, so that efforts to manage and resolve church conflict can be made. A psychological perspective can help each individual to recognize what values are often at stake in conflict situations that exist in themselves or in others, such as emotions, self-esteem, and perceptions that greatly influence individual behavior or actions in conflict situations. Recognizing and understanding the values in oneself and others are supporting factors for being able to take constructive steps in conflict situations.Konflik merupakan suatu keniscayaan dalam kehidupan manusia. Konflik telah menjadi kondisi yang terintegrasi dalam kehidupan individu maupun komunal, termasuk di gereja. Pemahaman jemaat tentang konflik sangat memengaruhi sikap atau tindakan mereka terhadap konflik itu sendiri. Pada umumnya jemaat memiliki pemahaman yang kurang terbuka terhadap konflik. Konflik dipahami sebagai situasi yang tidak boleh terjadi, situasi yang memalukan, atau juga suatu keadaan yang hanya menghasilkan dampak destruktif atau menghancurkan. Pemahaman-pemahaman yang demikianlah, membuat konflik semakin sulit untuk dikelola. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menyelisik konflik gerejawi, yang akan dilakukan dengan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan. Konflik gerejawi yang kerap kali terjadi tentu tidak dapat disangkal atau dihindari. Menyelisik konflik gerejawi dari perspektif psikologi menawarkan cara pandang yang baru, di mana konflik gereja yang terjadi dalam konteks apa pun dapat dipahami dengan mendalami unsur-unsur psikologi yang dimiliki setiap orang yang terlibat dalam situasi konflik. Penelitian ini menyelisik konflik gerejawi dari perspektif psikologi yang dikemukakan oleh Paul Randolph. Menurut penulis, psikologi konflik Paul Randolph dapat menghasilkan pemahaman yang terbuka terhadap konflik gerejawi, sehingga upaya untuk mengelola dan mengatasi konflik gereja dapat dilakukan. Memahami konflik dari perspektif psikologi merupakan langkah penting yang dapat dilakukan untuk semua jenis konflik yang terjadi dalam kehidupan manusia. Perspektif psikologi dapat membantu setiap individu, untuk mengenali nilai-nilai apa saja yang sering dipertaruhkan dalam situasi konflik yang ada pada dirinya maupun yang ada pada diri orang lain, misalnya emosi, harga diri, dan persepsi yang sangat memengaruhi perilaku atau tindakan individu dalam situasi konflik. Mengenali dan memahami nilai-nilai dalam diri sendiri dan orang lain adalah faktor pendukung untuk dapat melakukan langkah-langkah konstruktif dalam situasi konflik.

Abstract

The world of education covers a very broad discussion. However, it is not uncommon nowadays that education is only seen from the perspective of the world of secular education and without, realizing that education in a church, the church will experience a spiritual decline in the congregation’s spiritual maturity. As this era advances, the church and the world of education should be able to work together to make big changes towards a better direction. Because basically Christian education is also centered on the Bible as well as the preaching of the Word in the church, which is studied according to 2 Timothy 3:16. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this research is First, to examine important principles in Christian education based on 2 Timothy 3:16. Second, the church plays its function in Christian education for the entire congregation. Third, the entire congregation experiences Biblical spiritual maturity in Christian education.Dunia pendidikan mencakup pembahasan yang sangat luas. Namun tidak jarang pada masa sekarang ini pendidikan hanya dilihat dari segi dunia pendidikan sekuler saja dan tanpa disadari bahwa pendidikan juga memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan gereja. Sebab tanpa adanya pendidikan dalam sebuah gereja, gereja tersebut akan mengalami kemerosotan kerohanian dalam kedewasaan rohani jemaat. Semakin maju zaman ini, sepatutnya gereja dan juga dunia pendidikan bisa berkerja sama guna untuk melakukan perubahan yang besar untuk menuju ke arah yang lebih baik. Karena pada dasarnya pendidikan Kristen juga berpusat pada Alkitab demikian juga dengan pemberitaan Firman dalam gereja, yang dikaji menurut 2 Timotius 3:16. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskritif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Pertama, mengkaji prinsip-prinsip penting dalam pendidikan Kristen berdasarkan 2 Timotius 3:16. Kedua, gereja memerankan fungsinya dalam pendidikan Kristen bagi seluruh jemaat. Ketiga, seluruh jemaat mengalami kedewasaan rohani secara Alkitabiah dalam pendidikan Kristen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran guru PAK dalam mengembangkan nilai moral Kristiani di SMP Deli Murni Deli Tua. Nilai-nilai moral sangatlah perlu ditanamkan kepada Peserta Didik khususnya pada jaman era digital ini. Moral merupakan norma yang menjadi pegangan seseorang atau suatu kelompok dalam mengatur tingkah lakunya. Nilai-nilai moral merupakan sistem aturan yang mengatur interaksi sosial dan hubungan sosial individu dalam masyarakat dan didasarkan pada konsep kesejahteraan, kepercayaan, keadilan dan hak. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Deli Murni Delitua, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan penelitian merupakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tiga teknik yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 12 orang antara lain: peserta didik 10 orang, Guru PAK 1 orang, dan Guru BK 1 orang. Hasil penelitian ini, guru PAK sudah mengembangkan nilai-nilai moral Kristiani dengan beberapa aspek yaitu: guru PAK sebagai teladan, guru PAK sebagai motivator, guru PAK sebagai fasilitator, guru PAK sebagai pengajar iman, guru PAK sebagai petugas pastoral.
