Abstract

In today’s time based competition, high equipment productivity in a manufacturing line is necessary in ensuring a competitive company. Focused Productive Maintenance emphasizes the importance of achieving profitability through equipment effectiveness. This paper demonstrates the logic of Buffer Management and Focused Productive Maintenance to shape competitive advantage in utilizing resources. Some ideas for future are given.

Abstract

Despite having similar inherited factors such as strategic location doesn’t make the Port of Batam to have similar performance and capability like its neighbouring ports in Malaysia and Singapore. There are policy issues that hindered the development of the necessary resources to tap the lucrative transhipment market in the Malacca Strait. The past positioning as the utility factor for the local industry has back fired when the local demand hasn’t grow strong enough. It also has the impact on the lack of resources including the land for container handling and storage. Due to the limited land-based resources, The Port shall look at the opportunities in other area, its water. The Port may look at and enter the related business in the water such as ship to ship transfer and anchoring business. Port of Batam may also look at the terminaling opportunity on the water, i.e. by implementing the floating container, storage, and transhipment terminal (FCSTT) concept along with the implementation of the same concept in the form of floating, storage and offloading (FSO) for the liquid and gas cargo, thus tapping the oil transfer market in the Malacca Strait as well.Keywords: Port of Batam, Malacca Strait, sea port business, transhipment, floating container terminal

Abstract

Abstrak. Kolaborasi rantai pasok memegang peranan penting dalam efektivitas organisasi. Penelitian pendahuluan ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor psikologi sosial yang dapat mempengaruhi hubungan kolaboratif dalam suatu rantai pasok, dalam konteks usaha pengolahan makanan skala menengah. Praktek kolaborasi rantai pasok dan dampak penerapannya terhadap kinerja perusahaan, baik operasional maupun finansial, juga ikut ditelaah. Berdasarkan tujuan ini, 'pendekatan survei dalam studi kasus' digunakan. Data dikumpulkan dari sebuah perusahaan pengolahan makanan skala menengah. Model partial least squares-path modeling diajukan untuk mengkonseptualisasi dan mengukur pengaruh dari ketergantungan, komitmen, kepercayaan dan komunikasi pada kolaborasi rantai pasok. Efek dari kolaborasi rantai pasok pada kinerja perusahaan juga diukur. Dengan menggunakan sudut pandang buyer, hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa komitmen dan kepercayaan berpengaruh positif pada kolaborasi rantai pasok, dan kolaborasi rantai pasok memiliki pengaruh yang berarti pada kinerja perusahaan. Sementara itu, ketergantungan mempengaruhi kolaborasi secara tidak langsung melalui komitmen, dan komunikasi mempengaruhi kolaborasi secara tidak langsung melalui kepercayaan.Kata kunci: Rantai pasok, Kolaborasi, Manufaktur, Partial least squares, Faktor psikologi sosialAbstract. Supply Chain Collaboration plays a significant role to the effectiveness of organizations. This preliminary study aims to identify social psychology factors that might influence collaborative relationship within a supply chain network, in the context of medium-sized food manufacturing enterprise. The supply chain collaboration practice and its impact of implementation on firm's performance, both operational and financial, were investigated. Based on this purposes, a survey within a case study approach was conducted. The data were collected from one medium scale food manufacturing enterprise. A partial least squares-path modeling (PLS-PM) was proposed for conceptualizing and measuring the effects of dependence, commitment, trust, and communication on supply chain collaboration. The effect of supply chain collaboration on firm's performance was also measured and quantified. From buyer's perspective, the study reveals that commitment and trust positively affect supply chain collaboration and that supply chain collaboration has a considerable effect on firm's performance. Meanwhile, dependence influences the collaboration indirectly through commitment, while communication influences the collaboration indirectly through trust.Keywords: Supply chain, Collaboration, Manufacturing, Partial least squares, Social psychology factors

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi sistem informasi akademik (SIA) di universitas swasta yang ada di kota Semarang dengan mengusulkan konsep TAM. technology acceptance model (TAM) merupakan model yang mampu menjelaskan penerimaan individual terhadap penggunaan sebuah teknologi informasi yang ada di organisasi. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan pengujian structural equational modelling (SEM) dan menggunakan pendekatan varians (partial least square), kemudian pengolahan data didukung dengan aplikasi SmartPLS. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 150 mahasiswa semester 6 (enam) dari ketiga universitas yang telah dipilih, yaitu Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (UDINUS), Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA), dan Universitas Semarang (USM) dimana jumlah responden dari masing-masing universitas berjumlah 50. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efikasi diri (self efficacy) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap manfaat yang dirasakan (perceived usefulness). Norma subjektif (subjective norm) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap manfaat yang dirasakan (perceived usefulness) dan kemudahan penggunaan yang dirasakan (perceived ease of use). Manfaat yang dirasakan (perceived usefulness) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sikap penggunaan sistem (attitude toward the system). Sedangkan efikasi diri (self efficacy) tidak signifikan terhadap kemudahan penggunaan yang dirasakan (perceived ease of use) dan kemudian kemudahan penggunaan yang dirasakan (perceived ease of use) juga tidak signifikan terhadap attitude toward the system.Kata kunci: Efikasi diri, norma subjektif, technology acceptance model (TAM), dan sistem informasi akademik (SIA).Abstract. This research aims to analyze the implementation of SIA (Academic Information System) in private universities of Semarang by proposing Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) concept. TAM is a model that can explain individual acceptance to the use of an information technology in organization. The data analysis of this research was conducted by testing by testing SEM (Structural Equation Modeling), this research used variance approach (Partial Least Square) and the data was processed by using SmartPLS statistics software. The research used survey method by giving questionnaire to 150 students of semester six from three selected universities, namely Dian Nuswantoro University (UDINUS), Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA), and Semarang University (USM) where the number of respondents from each university were 50 respondents. The results showed that self efficacy had significant impact towards the perceived usefulness. Subjective norm had significant impact towards perceived usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use. Perceived usefulness had significant impact on attitude toward the system. while Self Efficacy was insignificant to Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Ease of Use was also insignificant to Attitude Toward the System.Keywords: Self Efficacy, subjective norm, technology acceptance model (tam), and academic information system (SIA).

Abstract

Privatisasi dewasa ini merupakan salah satu topik bahasan dominan dalam kancah kebijakan publik yang berkaitan dengan peran pemerintah dalam perekonomian menyusul gagalnya sistem perencanaan terpusat di negara-negara komunis. Makalah ini membahas beberapa pertanyaan mendasar seputar masalah privatisasi sebagai kecenderungan lingkungan usaha Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN), dengan menyoroti alasan pentingnya pembahasan masalah privatisasi, mengapa dan bagaimana privatisasi perlu dilakukan dan apa dampaknya. Abstract

At the beginning of 2008, the amount of cluster industry batik in Solo start to grew, with so many innovations, big market (co1nsumers), low cost and high progit margin. The condition is so much different compare to the late 1980. Thus, with agent-based simulation for industrial cluster, the aims of the research are to understand what mechanism can describe the formation of cluster industry batik in Solo, and propose strategies to stimulate formation of cluster industry. There are three agents modeled in the simulation; consumer, produce, and supplier. Each agent has their own attributes and decision role. As result, the simulation can describe that industrial cluster is formed as bottom-up interaction between agents with interdependency decision-making. In the long term, only producer agent that agglomerate with other industry can survive and the average wealth of each agent will increase along with the density cluster of certain industrial cluster. Several policies can be implemented to stimulate the industrial cluster formation are creating join-showroom, build waste-water treatment for several industries, renovate the facilities (access) to the cluster industries.Keywords:service science, cluster industry, agent-based simulation, cluster industry batik Solo

Abstract

Shari'a banking are expanding and growing rapidly nowadays, as shown by the increasing market shares at several already existing shari'a banks as well as births of new shari'a banks induced by conventional banks. Such growth is also proven at Bank Shari'a Mandiri (BSM), namely the Bandung Mandiri Shari'a Bank, by a significant increase in the number of its financing customers. Indeed, the increase could not be separated from the churn rate, namely customer migration and absorption from conventional banks or the other existing shari'a banks to Bandung BSM. Financing customer migration thus becomes an important matter to be studied, in order to find out about the driving factors for financing customers' preferences to be made an input for Bandung BSM for planning a strategy to cope with the market share increase. This research was aimed at identifying financing customers' preferences toward Bandung BSM by studying the dominant factors influencing the financing customers to choose and migrate to Bandung BSM and using the factor analysis method to observe the churn rate risks. Samples are taken from a number of Bandung BSM customers, selected through questionnaires. There are three factors influencing customer preferences for choosing Bandung BSM, namely: availability of supporting facilities, leadership, and shari'a. Based on impact-probability matrix analyses, it is shown that there are three attributes that have high probability values, that is, profit sharing system, administrative easiness, and leadership factors. Results of this research also showed that the Bandung BSM churn rate risks were of medium to high probability, and this will greatly impact the bank's performance. Abstract

Abstrak. Studi ini mendasarkan pada research gap dan fenomena bisnis, yakni kontroversi studi kerja sama lintas fungsi terhadap kinerja. Selain itu terdapat inkosistensi kerja sama lintas fungsi studi. Hasil temuan menyimpulkan bahwa Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) inovasi yang dilakukan bersifat follower, artinya produk muncul di wilayah lain yang relatif baru kemudian sedikit modifikasi. Populasi pada studi ini adalah UKM industri kecil batik di Provinsi Jawa Tengah yang berjumlah 115, yang terdistribusi di kota Pakalongan, Kabupaten Pekalongan, Pati, Sukoharjo, Rembang dan Purbalingga (Disperindag Prov.Jateng 2014 ). Kemudian metode pengambilan sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling, artinya berdasarkan karaktersitik populasi, yakni daerah atau lokasi. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan The Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) dari paket software AMOS 5.0. Model akhir temuan hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa, prioritas pertama model pengembangan kinerja inovatif UKM di Provinsi Jawa Tengah, dilakukan dengan meningkatkan kualitas pengetahuan intrinsik dengan indikator akurat, objektif, dinamis /up date dan dapat dipercaya.Kata kunci: Kinerja Inovatif, kualitas pengetahuan, Integrasi lintas fungsi, Jejaring pengetahuan,Kualitas kerja sama lintas fungsiAbstract. This study is based on research gaps and business phenomenon, namely the controversy studies cross-functional cooperation to performance. Moreover there is no cross-functional cooperation inconsistencies study. The findings conclude that the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is a follower of innovation undertaken, means that products appear in other regions relatively new then a slight modification. The population in this study was small industrial batik SMEs in Central Java province, amounting to 115, which is distributed in the city Pakalongan, Pekalongan, Pati, Sukoharjo, Apex and Purbalingga (Disperindag Prov.Jateng 2014). Then the method of sampling with purposive sampling technique, meaning that based on characteristics of the population, the area or location. Data analysis techniques used in this study The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) software package AMOS 5.0. Findings from this study indicate that, priority first step in developing a model of innovative performance of SMEs in Central Java province, is done by increasing the knowledge of the intrinsic quality of the indicators are accurate, objective, dynamic / up to date and reliable.Keywords: Innovative performance, quality of knowledge, cross-functional integration, networking knowledge
