Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Sidoarjo Regency Education Office in fostering the implementation of Child-Friendly Schools (CFS). This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the Education Office plays a strategic role through preventive guidance, continuous socialization, responsive complaint-handling mechanisms with a maximum three-day response time, the establishment of School Violence Prevention and Handling Teams (TPPK), and cross-sector collaboration. These strategies demonstrate that the role of the Education Office extends beyond administrative functions to include governance and child protection responsibilities within the education system. This study contributes to the development of educational governance studies by highlighting the importance of local government involvement in strengthening child protection policies in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the principal's exemplary behavior in fostering a character of responsibility in students at Muhammadiyah Masbagik High School. Leadership in education is one of the key factors in achieving educational goals, especially in developing student character. The role of the principal is very important in fostering a character of responsibility in students, because character education cannot be separated from the leadership of the principal. This study uses a qualitative approach, a case study type with data collection procedures, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis technique uses the Milles and Hubberman data analysis model, namely: (1) Data Reduction, (2) Data Presentation, (3) Data Verification to test the validity of data obtained from the field using several techniques of extended participation, persistent observation, and triangulation. The results of the study show that the principal's exemplary leadership in fostering a character of responsibility in students: 1 the principal shows good behavior in front of students, 2 respects teachers and staff, 3 appreciates students and 4 inspires students. Theoretically, this research serves as a reference for principal leadership in developing students' responsible character. Practically, this research serves as a guideline and reference for implementing principal leadership in realizing students' responsible character in schools.

Abstract

Job analysis is a fundamental instrument in human resource management (HRM) that supports role clarity, task distribution, and professional accountability in educational institutions; however, its application in nonformal Islamic education institutions remains limited. This study aims to examine the implementation of job analysis in managing human resources at Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ) Istikmal Surabaya by integrating theoretical perspectives with field practices grounded in Islamic educational values. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study combines a literature review with field research. Data were collected through purposive in-depth interviews with TPQ leaders and teachers, participatory observation of instructional and administrative activities, and document analysis, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis with triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings reveal that job analysis at TPQ Istikmal Surabaya has been substantively implemented through practical stages of role identification, task allocation, and competency-based placement, although formal documentation remains limited. This implementation contributes to reduced role overlap, improved coordination, and enhanced effectiveness of HRM while maintaining values of sincerity, responsibility, and consultation. The study concludes that job analysis functions as a strategic HRM instrument in nonformal Islamic education and recommends gradual formalization to strengthen professionalism and institutional sustainability.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive landscape of educational institutions requires adaptive brand management strategies to build reputation and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze brand management strategies at Lajnah Pendidikan dan Pengajaran (LPP) Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Purwokerto using the theoretical framework of Kevin Lane Keller and M. G. Swaminathan, focusing on the dimensions of favorability, strength, and uniqueness. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that in the favorability dimension, a positive image is built through consistent service quality, teacher professionalism, and staff loyalty, which foster parental trust. The strength dimension is reflected in high market demand, with a student selection ratio of 3:1, and strong alumni networks. Meanwhile, the uniqueness dimension is represented through a glocal curriculum (integration of the International Baccalaureate and Islamic values) and the global Muadalah network. This strategy has proven effective in creating sustainable competitive advantages and enhancing institutional reputation at both national and international levels. This study suggests that other educational institutions adopt the integration of local values and global standards as a strong brand differentiation.

Abstract

Academic supervision plays an essential role in improving the quality of learning at SMP Negeri 3 Tangerang. This study aims to describe the implementation of academic supervision, its benefits in enhancing teacher professionalism, the supporting and inhibiting factors, and its contribution to strengthening the Internal Quality Assurance System through the cycle of Establishment, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting data through interviews with the Vice Principal for Curriculum and a teacher. The findings indicate that academic supervision is carried out systematically through the stages of pre-observation, observation, and post-observation, providing significant feedback for improving teachers’ competence in lesson planning, classroom management, and reflective evaluation. Supervision also serves as a foundation for evaluating the implementation of SPMI standards. Supporting factors include school leadership, a collaborative school culture, and teacher enthusiasm, while inhibiting factors relate to limited time allocation and teachers’ perceptions of supervision. The study concludes that well-implemented academic supervision contributes to strengthening SPMI when conducted continuously, systematically, and collaboratively.

Abstract

In making decisions in educational leadership, there is a need for a robust philosophical foundation in response to the current complex problems. The purpose of this research is to examine the essence of philosophical views in influencing educational management decision-making processes, uncover the paradigms in ethics, as well as examine the integration between universal philosophical views and Indonesian local wisdom. This study employs a qualitative library research method, collecting data through the identification, selection, and critical review of relevant academic literature published between 2021-2025, which is analyzed using thematic content analysis. The result shows that the integration between universal ethics views (deontology, utilitarianism, or virtue ethics) and local wisdom constructs a foundation in decision-making. Contemporary ethical paradigms transform from hierarchical approaches toward holistic models integrating professional skills, crisis adaptation, and inclusive data-driven decision making. Practical implications demand developing leadership competencies that balance data literacy with emotional intelligence, responsiveness to local contexts, and creating reflective organizational cultures. This study emphasizes the need for transforming educational leader preparation by integrating character development, philosophical reflection, and ethical competencies to produce wise and meaningful decisions. However, this study is limited to secondary data derived from literature sources, which may not fully capture contextual variations in real educational settings. Therefore, future research is encouraged to incorporate empirical field studies to further validate and enrich the proposed philosophical framework.
