The Indonesia Journal of Business Administration(IJBA) is a business journal that bridges the gap between business research and practice, evaluating and reporting on new research to help readers identify and understand significant trends in their fields. The IJBA seeks to publish papers relating to business, broadly defined. It publishes articles that address both theoretical and practical issues in the broad areas of Business Strategy and Marketing, People and Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology Management, Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation, Operation and Performance Management, and Business Risk and Finance.Contributing academicians and researchers are encouraged to address a variety of concerns relating to all areas of business. We also encourage students to use an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing a topic, which often yields interesting and novel papers. The published articles provide valuable insight into matters of broad intellectual and practical concern to academicians and business professionals. The Journalis published three times a year: in April, July and October. The journal is mainly an outlet of MBA ITB students to publish their final project works, although it also accepts articles written by students at masters level from other institutions. A published paper is an honor that will be unambiguously beneficial for professional and academic careers, especially for those who want to attend graduate/professional schools. This means that papers written in relations to Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Law, Corporate Ethics, and Public Policy all qualify for submission. Abstract. XYZ is a global leader of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) solutions. Continuously innovating based on customer needs, XYZ are committed to enhancing customer experiences and creating maximum value for telecom carriers, enterprises, and consumers. In the field of professional services, XYZ has always demonstrated a willingness to establish a strategic partnership with the operators. This collaboration ensures improved network and service quality which enhances customer experience. This also positions XYZ to promote operational transformation concept while accelerating the adoption of the next generation network and service evolution. The whole industry will continue to see profound changes. These changes will be driven by the introduction of new technologies and dramatic changes in network architectures. XYZ closely collaborate with telecom operators and their industry customers to provide competitive and valuable service solutions. R operator appear to be the biggest operator in the country, which XYZ part of wireless market share. R operator is committed to providing the best service to its customers, one of the efforts is network modernization by swap BTS (Base Transceiver Station) existing with new BTS equipment for 2G to anticipate the high voice traffic and also reduce the operational cost of R operator. R operator signed a contract with XYZ Company for network modernization its entire telecom network 2G in West Java area. All 2G BTS will be swapped with new equipment with modern, efficient and future ready hardware. This thesis describe more specific on 2G network modernization project for R operator in West Java area which 596 system BTS existing vendor N change with XYZ BTS.  In the project implementation there are some issues raised which effect the project such as delay completion time of project, number of sub-contractor transmission team inadequate, lack of monitoring and control project progress and there no pre-evaluate and categorize the risk in the project. Project Time Management and Project Risk Management the part of Project Management knowledge areas, Critical Path Method (CPM) and PERT analysis are used to analyze the business issue and to find the root cause of inefficient completion time of project. The root cause are: lack of Project Time Management knowledge, lack of Project Risk Management, lack of experience, limited sub-contractor resource, irregular status review meeting and lack of risk management knowledge. Based on Project Management concept there are some business solution alternative to improve implementation modernization project become more efficient, which are: training scheduling technic, reduce completion time by increase number of sub-contractor team based on CPM analysis, create regular status review meeting and define and manage the project risk. Abstract

Abstract. Bankruptcy becomes a major risk faced by every companies including property and real estate companies in Indonesia. Currently, some economic and business analysts conclude that Indonesia's property sector still has a decline trend in 2018. Bankruptcy is not always experienced by poor performance companies, but it can also be experienced by companies with strong performance. Performance of the company can be affected by the efficiency of companies’ working capital management. That can be the reason why thorough bankruptcy assessment will be needed. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between bankruptcy risk (Altman Z-Score) of property and real estate companies in Indonesia and the efficiency of working capital management, solvency, and profitability. The study focuses on 41 publicly-listed firms of property and real estate sub-sectors in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2012-2017. Bankruptcy risk calculation will be examined based on Altman Bankruptcy Theory. Besides, the components Cash Conversion Cycle wll be used as working capital management indicator, DAR as the solvency indicator, and ROE as the profitability indicator. The relationship between bankruptcy risk and the efficiency of working capital management, solvency, and profitability will be examined using panel data regression method. The result of this study indicates that AAI, APP, and ROE are significantly related to bankruptcy risk (Altman Z-Score). The study will contribute as an empirical analysis to highlight the link relationship between working capital management efficiency, solvency and profitability with bankruptcy risk of property and real estate companies in Indonesia.Keywords: Altman Bankruptcy Model, Bankruptcy Risk, Working Capital Management, Cash Conversion Cycle, Property and Real Estate.

Abstract

Abstract. To many countries in the world, oil and gas sector has been vast areas that become a strategic sector to its nation in parts of country and region stabilization. It also becomes a vital commodity in countries that mainly could affect its economic country’s conditions. South East Sumatera (SES) block has been a part of Indonesia’s oil and gas production area whereas its contribution from 1960’s until present time. Under a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) agreement, SES block is one of the largest offshore producers of crude oil in Indonesia. However with regards to implementation of new regulation on September 2018, the Production Sharing Contract is to be terminated and handed over to the new contract holders/operator. Therefore business strategic plans to develop South East Sumatera aging facilities are imperative. The research for facilities development in South East Sumatera (SES) initialize by provides a general comparison between ongoing production sharing contract agreement and new gross split production sharing contract. Furthermore, the methodology of this research are by a qualitative method to knows facilities development options and followed by a quantitative method by uses a Net Present Value (NPV) calculation and NPV Index (%) approaches, to calculates the profitability figures for each facilities development options. Based on the analysis, it shows detrimental comparison in the new gross split production sharing contract, in which efficiency factor on production costs as well effectiveness factor of work program are turn out to be the most outstanding concern in the new gross split production sharing contract. The conclusion from Net Present Value (NPV) calculation and NPV Index (%) shows that options which has less initial investment is potential as the most profitable values. Further as part of management implication and scenarios development, it concluded essential to re-considers as well to the factors of potential production loss, technology level requirement and potential of local environment effect. Hence from this study, it concludes and recommends an offshore facilities development after contract hand-over is to develop a distribution pipeline and to develop an offshore platform refurbishment; whereas these options have potential profitability values as well in consideration of potential production loss in case if said options are non-executed. Addition recommendation to support above is to perform a detail study and analysis of new-build platforms in integration between personnel accommodations and power generation facilities as part core support of oil production activities in South East Sumatera (SES). This study is expected to provide an outlook of potential facilities development options to the new contract holder/operator, at the same time as to provide an outlook of investment figures necessary in regards to develop offshore facilities in South East Sumatera (SES).Keywords: production sharing contract, gross split, profitability, offshore facilities development and production loss.

Abstract - UrbanCut Barbershop is a premium brand of barbershop that was established on May 4, 2013 under CV Ganesha Adhi Pratama. It was located at Tirto Agung Street, No. 12A, sub-district of Pedalangan, district of Banyumanik, Semarang of Central-Java. UrbanCut Barbershop was built to answer the need of modern man in Semarang area that need of a good representative haircut place with hygiene process and cozy place. UrbanCut Barbershop is a growing business and has big opportunity to success due to it has become pioneer in premium barbershop service in Semarang area. It showed by the number of customers that have been served and that increasing sales from its beginning they are opened until now. But, new problem start to come and the competition begin tougher. UrbanCut Barbershop sales performance basically is good and profitable enough for its owner. But owner feels that there have been a condition of sales revenue of UrbanCut after 8 months operation become stable or can be said it come to its optimum point. This phenomenon was discovered after UrbanCut Barbershop opened their second branch located in central business of Semarang area. Owner feels that this condition showed there are problem with UrbanCut Barbershop growing progress. The owner worry if the trend of sales in second branch becoming like the first store that reach its optimum point and don’t grow anymore. Therefore, owner should initiate better strategy to keep increase sales growth and strategy for competes in Semarang Barbershop business. So, the focus of this research is to give UrbanCut Barbershop business strategy to solve their problem. First, author should determine what Urbancut Barbeshop business condition is and what about other external environment that affect their business. Second, author should give further strategy for UrbanCut Barbershop to win the business competition. Abstract –  Indonesians market are believed to have great opportunity, the population is young, growing and rapidly urbanizing, making it one of the fastest-growing consumer markets in the world. Indonesian retail industry has become more competitive and many brands are competing to attract consumers through advertising. Consumers are exposed with so many advertising and each brands need to compete to gain their intention. Many brands in Indonesia have used celebrity endorsement as one way to promote their products, especially in retail industry. The research was conducted by data analysis utilizing the result of in-depth interview and questionnaire. The author attempted to find correlation between brand advertising with celebrity endorsement and consumer behavior, to assure and create solutions through marketing strategies that would be done by the retail company, both in order to improve the performance of the company's current condition and future business development. The results are brand advertising with celebrity endorsement effect consumer in identifying the brand or product, influence consumers’ perceptions and thought about the brand or product in terms of image and performance and influence the consumer to purchase the product. Marketers need to choose the celebrity to present their brand carefully. The celebrity’s character should match with the brand personality and target audience. Marketers and retail companies can create the marketing strategy and consider brand advertising with celebrity endorsement. Abstract. TipTop is a business network that engaged in the field of supermarket & department store where one of its branches is located in Rawamangun, East Jakarta. TipTop Rawamangun provides basic human needs products such as groceries and clothes. They sell their products directly only at the store. TipTop Rawamangun started to operate in 1979 and it is still running until today. In general, their sales still have been running quite smoothly until now, but for the future they should begin to be vigilant against the threats of their competitors due to the fact that each year the outlets of the competitors continue to multiply. It makes the people become having more options to choose where to shop. This condition has the potency to turn off the TipTop Rawamangun’ business in the future. To maintain its business, TipTop Rawamangun needs to increase the customer retention, so they want to know in detail about what are the priorities of customers in choosing the stores to shop. TipTop Rawamangun wishes to know the will and desires of customers, so they are able to prepare some strategies to make their existing customers unwilling to stop shopping at their store for the sake to go shopping somewhere else. The business situation analysis begins by analyzing the internal and external environment. Internal analysis consists of ‘Value Chain Analysis’, ‘STP Analysis’, and ‘Marketing Mix 7P Analysis’. While the external analysis consists of ‘PESTLE Analysis’, ‘Porter’s Five Forces Analysis’, ‘Competitor Analysis’, and ‘Customer Retention Influencing Factors Analysis’. The result of those internal and external analysis is the TipTop Rawamangun’s ‘SWOT Analysis’. To discover the opinions and desires of customers towards TipTop Rawamangun, the author distributed questionnaires to TipTop Rawamangun’s 286 customers as samples to determine whether the customers are satisfied with the services at TipTop Rawamangun or not. The results of the questionnaires indicate that the value of TipTop Rawamangun’s customer retention is just “Moderate” (Mean = 3.12) and reveal that several sectors should be enhanced in TipTop Supermarket & Department Store, Rawamangun, East Jakarta’s business. Keywords: Customer Retention, Supermarket Business, Retail Industry’s Growth.

Abstract

Abstract - The economic crisis has been decreased the performance of Banking Industry in Indonesia as reflected in the decreasing of Loan Growth and the increasing of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) ratio since 2015. Increasing NPLs was followed by increasing cost of loan and decreasing ROA of Banks and others financial institutions therefore Bank should be innovate to enhance its loan quality. This study was conducted to determine influence of leverage towards profitability ratios of 68 companies which are debtors of Bank ABC in Performing Loan quality within two groups of US' Index value and tested by Correlation Statistic. Based on the research’s outputs, it was concluded that in group of US’ Index < 1 leverage has been influencing negatively to its profitability while on another group, with US’ Index > 1, leverage has been influencing positively. Those conclusions were reinforced by the decline trend of US 'Index value on financial performances of 21 debtors were included in the category of watch-list debtors as well as proven in the study case of debtor which is now included into the category of non-performing loans. This study has shown that US’ Index theory could be implemented in all stages of loan process, such as to analysis the repayment capacity of applicants at the front end, as loan monitoring system at  the middle end, and as a guidance in loan restructuring and collecting repayment at  the back end stage. Therefore, this study suggests the use of US’ Index theory as a credit risk control strategy to reducing NPLs in Banks and Financial Institutions in order to enhance its loan quality and generate sustainable profit. Key words: NPLs, Cost of Loan, US’ Index, Capital Structure, Correlation Statistic.

Abstract. The existence of e-commerce has change the way people purchase products or services. Customers are slowly get used to purchase products through E-commerce as a substitute of traditional brick and mortar stores. Indonesia as the fourth largest population in world has big potential for e-commerce business development. Along with this opportunity, JD.ID, started to operate in Indonesia on 2016. As a new comer in the industry, JD.ID is trying to gain market’s recognition and compete the existing competitors. The objective of this study is to analyze the current condition of the industry, the current business strategy of JD.ID and to formulate business solution in order to enhance JD.ID’s competitiveness in  Indonesian E-commerce industry. There are three problems addressed in this study. First is the current condition in E-commerce industry. Second question is the current JD.ID business strategy, and the last question is competitive strategy for JD.ID in e-commerce industry. According to the external analysis, Indonesian ecommerce industry is very competitive industry. Furthermore, the internal analysis of JD.ID shows that it is favorable to expand. Regarding to the current company’s situation, some alternative of business solution are generated using the combination of TOWS and Five Diamond Analysis. In order to increase the company's competitiveness, the author proposed a set of business strategy that focusing on 3 department in the firm, marketing, merchandising and  logistic and operation.Keywords: e-commerce, JD.ID, competitive strategy, online shopping, online retailer.

Abstract - Indonesia automotive market has always been on the top of the markets among ASEAN countries. The interesting thing about the market is not merely about the production but also the car buying and selling process. Nowadays digital technologies started playing important roles in people day to day lives as we expect more accessible way of information anywhere, at any time and on any device. These include researching and buying car. Invention of auto classified portal plays an important role in these phenomenons.  OTOmart as online auto classified portals sees the opportunity to cater this massive market throughout digital mean which for decades classified ads were the domain of newspapers. As a new player in the industry OTOmart faces a challenge to find a way to gain a competitive advantage and successful monetization. It is imperative to move fast as the competition is getting tougher. This research focus in business strategy development in OTOmart as auto classified portal. The research methodology used in this final project is qualitative method. The information and data collection was gathered utilizing internal interview of OTOmart team and a survey to dealer and website visitor. Business solutions proposal offers an approach using linkages and interrelationship optimization as the research find there are some missing link on value creation in OTOmart. Moreover the strategy diamonds and business model generation complement the business solution for OTOmart to gain the competitive advantage, value proposition and monetization. The finding on business solution was formulated after the analysis on external and internal company situation. External factors are using PESTEL, Porter’s Five Forces, and Competitor Analysis. Meanwhile the internal analysis is using value chain analysis. To complement the analysis of internal and external the research also develops the SWOT analysis of OTOmart. Abstract

Abstract - At the end of 2015, PT. ANTAM (Persero) Tbk. have earned the State Capital Investment funds (PMN) as government support to the State Owned Enterprises to carry out the mandate of Act No. 4 year 2009 (which became effective on January 12, 2014). Fund of Rp. 3.5 trillion will be used to build a ferronickel plant in East Halmahera through the project team P3FH (Proyek Pembangunan Pabrik FeNi Haltim). The challenge for ANTAM is optimize PMN fund to build new plant so that no more additional time and money needed to complete the plant. In order to ensure project a successful project delivery, we have to know what risks that will face the project and how to assessment the high priority and mitigate it. Primary data are collected by conducting interview to several employees with different background to enhance the view of project’s risk. Secondary used in this study are company data, literature and third party data. Pre-mortem analysis used to encompass the idea of sharing expertise or experience and from this analysis we acquired as many as 26 issues/risks (failure mode) and 59 causes risks, all of them are categorized as the five types of groups: completion, financial, operational, environment, and legal / politics issue/risks. Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) is used to assess the risk priority obtained from pre-mortem analysis to obtain the 16 highest priority cause risks from several failure mode; Deal and delay with IPP, insufficient fund, failure in performance test, contractual risk, changes in management, possibility of inadequate source of fund and decrease in nickel price. Those issues are related to the completion issue and financial issues/risks. Mitigation on high priority causes risks was elaborate in this study and risks that have top priority here should receive more attention by ANTAM management. Keywords: pre-mortem, failure mode effect analysis, completion issues, financial issues, operational issues, environment issues, and legal / politics issue
