Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology, particularly in computer networking, has played a crucial role in supporting the operations of various institutions, including hospitals. RSUD Siti Fatimah is one such institution that leverages computer network technology to enhance performance and the quality of patient care. However, the hospital faces challenges with congested and slow network connections, which can hinder operational efficiency. To address this issue, a load balancing solution based on MikroTik was implemented using the Per-Connection Classifier (PCC) method, allowing the distribution of load across two ISPs for a more stable and faster connection. The PCC method was chosen for its ability to enhance connection speed and distribute network load evenly between the two gateways, thereby preventing overload. Additionally, a failover technique was applied to ensure that if one ISP connection fails, the network traffic is automatically switched to the other ISP, keeping the network operational without interruption. The implementation of this solution is expected to improve network efficiency and enhance healthcare services at RSUD Siti Fatimah.

Abstract

This study explores the potential of Sediment Microbial Fuel Cells (SMFCs) in the bioremediation of coral transplantation environments at Coral Garden Samalona, Samalona Island, Makassar. An experimental approach using marine aquariums was employed to assess the effects of SMFCs on the coral environment. Physicochemical parameters such as temperature, pH, salinity, and total dissolved solids (TDS) were monitored in real time using IoT technology. Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney test revealed significant effects of SMFCs on these parameters, with Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) < 0.05, revealing positive changes. The pH remained stable in an alkaline range (8.16-8.36), while TDS and salinity decreased by 3.19% and 15%, respectively. However, challenges related to temperature fluctuations in the SMFC group, likely due to microbial activity, were noted, as evidenced by peak voltage outputs ranging from 84.3 to 96.6 mV. Although this voltage remains low for broader applications, further research is needed to address temperature fluctuations, increase voltage output, and optimize SMFC design for real-world implementation.

Abstract

This study explores the Product-Service System (PSS) strategy at Akara Space, a coffee shop that adopts a functional results approach to enhance efficiency and business growth. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews and on-site observations to identify the most suitable PSS quadrants for the business. The findings suggest that Product Pooling, Outsourcing, and Functional Result quadrants are practical strategies. Product Pooling involves resource sharing with other businesses to reduce costs, optimize resource use, and build partnerships. Outsourcing focuses on delegating specific management functions to external providers, enabling Akara Space to maintain service quality while focusing on its core strengths. The Functional Result quadrant introduces a membership model, allowing customers to access services rather than owning products. This approach aligns with customer preferences for convenience and fosters loyalty, creating a steady revenue stream. Implementing these strategies can improve Akara Space’s efficiency, competitiveness, and adaptability in a dynamic market. By leveraging collaboration, resource optimization, and innovative service models, the business can achieve sustainable growth while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Abstract

Efforts to improve services by opening online data access to customers have become straightforward targets for cybercrime. Unfortunately, the researchers' findings reveal that there is presently no cybersecurity framework that completely aligns with the fundamental principles of the retail industry. This paper then analyzes the deployment of cybersecurity frameworks across various industrial sectors to determine which framework—or combination of frameworks—best aligns with the fundamental values of the retail industry. We compare the essential points of each cybersecurity framework with the TWOS Matrix, which represents the core values of the retail industry. We suggest NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, and Essential Eight as the best combination of cybersecurity frameworks for the retail industry. Therefore, the comparative analysis results recommend RCF as a novel framework suitable for implementation in the retail industry.

Abstract

Efforts towards an independent nation with high competitiveness can’t be separated from educational programs. Therefore, education must be able to produce quality graduates who have knowledge, master technology, and have technical skills, and adequate life skills. The timeliness of students in completing their studies is one of the supports for assessing the quality of higher education. Classification analysis can be used to predict whether a student is said to pass on time or not. Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest methods are part of the classification method. SVM and Random Forest classification analysis is done by using historical data alumni from FMIPA UNM of the graduation year 2019-2020 which come from the Administration, Academic and Student Affair Bureau of UNM. SVM accuracy level of RBF kernel with optimum value C = 1 and gamma = 1 is 68% and Random Forest accuracy with optimum value m = 2 and k = 500 is 72%. Therefore, the best method for determining the accuracy of the study duration of FMIPA UNM students is Random Forest..
